"We need to talk, young man," she told him.

He groaned, taking in her appearance; she looked like she was going out that night because those were not the clothes she wore earlier to the game.

"Can't I just rest, mom?" he muttered.

"No, sit!” , she ordered.

He took a seat on the couch with a sigh.

"What the hell was that on the field today? Since when did you start playing wide receiver?", she asked, her voice a bit on the high side.
