With Tian Zhu’s combat skills, he could easily kill several Silver Fang Wolves without receiving even the slightest scratch on his body.

“Not challenging at all.” Tian Zhu wiped the blood from his right arm.

It was not his blood, but the blood of the ferocious beasts he had killed.

He glanced toward where Ling Yin was fighting. At the same time, the girl happened to be looking in his direction, her face filled with shock as she watched him effortlessly slaughter all the wolves.

“How careless. To lose focus while facing an enemy.” Tian Zhu spotted a stone nearby and kicked it hard.

Buk!

The stone struck the head of a wolf that was leaping toward Ling Yin.

“Do you need my help, Miss?” Tian Zhu called out teasingly.

“No! I’ll end this fight with my own hands!” Ling Yin did not want to be interrupted in the first real battle she had ever experienced.

She assumed a stance, both hands clenched into fists.

Cultivators at the Qi Refining stage could only circulate energy throughout their bodies internally to strengthen their physical attacks.

Projecting energy outside the body or coating the body with Qi was something only Silver Core cultivators could do.

“Alright, suit yourself.” Tian Zhu shrugged. “Then I’ll happily watch the show.” He leaned his back against a tree.

Tian Zhu intended to merely observe, but it seemed that would not be possible, as the two wolves Ling Yin was facing suddenly ran toward him instead.

“Beasts will always be beasts, completely lacking intelligence.” Tian Zhu smiled faintly at the wolves’ stupidity for still daring to face him.

“Hey! All those wolves are mine!” Ling Yin shouted.

“I didn’t take them. They came to me on their own.” Tian Zhu enveloped his right hand with Qi energy. “So I have to fight to protect myself.”

“Tch, stupid wolves that are only seeking death.” Ling Yin was annoyed that the two wolves had chosen Tian Zhu instead.

Bam!

Ling Yin landed a powerful punch squarely on the head of one wolf that leapt at her.

“Come on! I’ll crush both of your heads!” Ling Yin dashed forward, charging at the same time as her two enemies.

On the other side, Tian Zhu faced two wolves. Fighting six had been easy enough—let alone just two.

He merely dodged until he saw an opening. Then he grabbed the tail of one wolf, reinforced his stance, and slammed its body into the ground so hard that the earth cracked.

The other wolf leapt into the air. Sensing this, Tian Zhu spun around while still holding the first wolf’s tail, then released it.

Bam!

The two wolves collided and were flung in opposite directions.

Before one of them could get back up, Tian Zhu slashed its neck with two fingers, sharp as blades when coated with Qi energy.

The wolf died instantly, its neck half-severed.

“Grrrr…!” The remaining wolf did not immediately attack after seeing one of its packmates die.

It growled in place, staring fiercely at Tian Zhu.

When Tian Zhu stepped forward, the wolf instead stepped back. It was clearly terrified.

“So confident earlier, weren’t you?” Tian Zhu sneered, then ran forward and kicked a stone ahead of him.

The stone struck the wolf squarely on the head, creating a huge opening for Tian Zhu to deliver a kick to its skull.

He did not allow the wolf any chance to rise. He stomped hard on its neck until its neck bones were crushed.

The wolf struggled briefly, but its movements weakened with each passing moment until it finally died.

Tian Zhu turned his gaze toward Ling Yin. She had not yet finished fighting the two wolves.

“She’s fighting quite well, even though she’s never experienced a real battle before. She’s adapting quickly, and her bare-handed combat techniques are becoming very effective,” Tian Zhu muttered.

It was clear that she continued to land punches and kicks on their bodies. One wolf, having taken the brunt of the attacks, suffered severe injuries. Many of its bones were broken, making it difficult for it to move.

As their speed slowed, Ling Yin was able to land even more blows.

In the end, her relentless attacks worsened the wolves’ injuries. Both collapsed, unable to move, their breathing growing weaker until they finally released their last breaths.

“I… won.” Ling Yin smiled in satisfaction before collapsing onto the ground, lying flat as she tried to steady her ragged breathing.

“Want some water?” Tian Zhu stood a few meters away, offering a bamboo container filled with water he had taken from the river.

“Thank you.” Ling Yin sat up, caught the bamboo container Tian Zhu tossed to her, and drank it all in one go.

“Ah… so refreshing!” Ling Yin felt her stamina returning after drinking so much water. “After this, we should leave this forest.”

“Yes, but do you know the way out? If we move carelessly, we might end up going deeper into the forest and encounter even stronger beasts than those wolves.”

“You’re right.”

“We should follow the flow of the river. There’s a chance we’ll find a settlement.”

People usually built settlements near rivers for easier access to fresh water. So following the river offered a higher chance of finding a way out.

Of course, it was also risky, since ferocious beasts were often found near rivers while searching for water.

Still, it was at least a fifty-fifty chance compared to wandering aimlessly without any clear direction.

“But before we go, we should take the fangs and claws of these Silver Fang Wolves. Their fangs and claws contain silver minerals that we can sell later,” Ling Yin said.

“Yes, we also need money to buy clothes.” Tian Zhu’s gaze instinctively drifted toward Ling Yin’s outfit, which had become more revealing after parts of it were torn during the fight.

“What are you looking at?” Ling Yin crossed her arms over her chest.

“I’m just looking at something refreshing for the eyes.” Tian Zhu shrugged, then collected all the wolves’ fangs and claws.

After that, the two of them set off, following the river in search of a settlement.

Along the way, they encountered many ferocious beasts drinking by the riverbank. However, they chose to avoid them rather than fight, waiting until the beasts left or taking detours.

During the journey, Tian Zhu also gathered herbs he came across. He could make medicines to sell later.

After all, in this new world, Tian Zhu needed money to survive.

However, almost no one could reach it within mere minutes like Tian Zhu did.Tian Zhu opened his eyes and looked at Ling Yin, who was sitting in meditation before him with her eyes closed. The girl looked extremely focused as she tried to sense the spiritual roots within her body."How is it? Can you feel them yet?""Um… I can feel something like two strands inside my body. Are those spiritual roots?""Yes. Those are the spiritual roots that allow cultivators to cultivate. Now try to absorb natural energy, but don’t rush. Slowly and steadily, guide it evenly into both of your spiritual roots. Don’t let one receive more or less than the other. You must divide it perfectly evenly."The two elemental attributes within Ling Yin’s body would

He was certain no one would believe him if he said that his father was the ruler of the entire universe. "You could say he is a very wise sovereign. In truth, everything he did to me was meant to protect me."Ling Yin tilted her head slightly. Though she was curious, she could tell that Tian Zhu did not wish to talk further about his family, so she remained silent."Oh right, by the way, why can’t you cultivate? Do you have a defective dantian or something like that?""No, my dantian is actually normal," Ling Yin shook her head lightly. "I don’t know the cause, and no one else knows either. Every time I try to cultivate, my body hurts as if it’s about to e
