Chapter 06

"Who is Him?"

Given the appearance of the man, he was very far from the word neat. The black plaid shirt is open, the jeans are torn in several places. The secretary shrugged her shoulders in disbelief.

“He said that President-Director Adam had a naughty son, maybe he was,” the woman suggested.

“Really, I have no manners, I just want to come in and make a scene with the security guard,” she continued irritably.

"Hei! You can't do that, Ma'am," he said, "then if anyone hears, it's dangerous." Sean chuckled as he received a light slap on the arm.

The man glanced at the closed door before the two of them, hand in hand, hurried out of the room.

The plastic cup containing the ice cubes was shaking excitedly. William opened the lid of the plastic cup and then lifted the glass so that the last drops of iced coffee fell into his mouth. The man casually chewed on an ice cube, leaning back against the back of a plastic chair. It was too hot this afternoon, too hard for William. So, he decided to go to a coffee shop and order two glasses of black iced coffee, which has now moved into his stomach.

"Why is it so hot today?" he said, chewing on ice cubes.

The man preferred to sit outside under a large umbrella. There are many flowers around, planted in small pots and neatly arranged. The sound of the songs of the indie band is melodious, although not particularly audible from the outside. However, William also nodded his head like a woodpecker. The black glasses he wore were in his shirt pocket. William took off the black hat he was wearing and placed it on one knee. The man slapped his knees like an idiot, followed by exaggerated laughter.

"You coward!" William shouted, causing passers-by to stop looking at him in confusion.

Unfortunately, William was already annoyed by what he got today. He was about to enter his office, but William was standing like an idiot in front of the White Horse building. He playfully grabbed her hair before getting up from his chair. He put on his black hat again, and William hurriedly continued to swear at himself.

William was determined he would accept Plan B, which he carefully prepared. So, William planned to get plastic surgery. With a new face, William will apply to his company again and that way it will be easier for him to get in and out without worrying about being recognized by other people.

Haha! It even sounds so ridiculous!

The operation should also take a very long time, not to mention the recovery period, will William be able to find out the truth in this short remaining time? Also, William wasn't entirely sure he could find anything in his office that could help him transition into the spirit world.

'Why me? What mistakes have I made? Until I die? What should I do now?!'

This question haunted William, but accepting reality was not as easy as turning a hand. William was confused and desperate, even though he himself did not have many close acquaintances at work. Everyone was just colleagues, so he didn't really know who to turn to for help.

As his mind was in chaos, William paid no attention to the surrounding streets. The man beat the girl until she fell. Brought plastic bag with food fell, and the contents spilled out. The girl was still sitting on the street and moaning.

"Ace, damn it! Look around! Do you really think this street belongs to your ancestors?!" William cursed excitedly.

"Ss-sorry! I'm sorry, I didn't do it on purpose," the girl answered quietly.

After a second, William slapped his cheeks hard. The man shook his head to drive away the disturbing thoughts. He immediately bent down and helped pick up the scattered food. William realized that he was too emotional and taking it out on other people.

"Oh no! I made a mistake, I'm sorry, okay?" William was still picking up the scattered oranges and putting them in a plastic bag.

However, this sound made the girl with long black hair stop picking food. Her eyes were wet, her heart was beating twice as fast. That voice... he recognized it. As soon as he turned around, his heart really felt like it had been pierced with a knife.

"What? Y-you?”

"How could this happen?" Her palms covered his mouth, not believing what he saw at that moment.

William was still unaware of the girl's reaction before he turned his head and they looked at each other. William's eyes widened.

"Emma?"

The girl shook her head in disbelief. He stood up slowly, keeping his eyes on William.

"That Night ... you ... you were dead," she is muttered. Tears were clearly visible in the sad eyes of the girl.

William was not very surprised to see the reaction of the girl in front of him. The girl he met every morning as Emma must have read the newspapers too, so how could he not know about her death. The girl fled with unsteady steps. While William just sighed as he watched Emma leave as he moved further and further away. Someone who wasn't close to her might be so surprised to see William, what about the office people, not to mention the ones he meets every day? He suddenly got a headache as he just imagined everything that was going on.

“Angel of death, please lift me up right now! I do not know what to do?" William was sitting on the edge of the sidewalk, scratching his face in annoyance.

“What the hell am I supposed to do?! William muttered, constantly scolding someone.

“Why were there no witnesses that night? Why don't people even know that someone is dying? I shouldn't have just died that night!"

Suddenly a light went on in William's head, which was dark and gloomy. The man turned his head in the direction where Emma had just gone. He hurriedly got up to chase after Emma because William  was sure that Emma had said the key word.
