"I can't believe this! Liam requested for a lab inside his apartment?" The president was about to run mad after his wife explained everything to him

"Exactly and I think we should fulfill his desire since he has accepted to join you in politics. Maybe this would be a great turnover for him and he might discover his potential" Emily was trying to convince her husband.

"He was known to be weird but right now, he is more weird than before. Is it because of his memory loss?" The president became more confused.

***

"After fighting him at the club, you also snatched his girlfriend, who has been crushing on you for a while," Ezra explained.

"Gosh! I can't believe that his life was very rough instead of being perfect as the president's son" he thought as Ezra was explaining the life he lived before the accident to him

"Not only that, the club that belonged to you was closed by your father but you went there, open it back and fuck the bitches openly, without minding the consequences. Your father had you grounded for a week but within that week, you destroyed nothing less than thirty thousand dollars of your belongings" he further explained

"It's okay, it's okay. Get the car ready. We are going out tomorrow morning" he cut him off when he couldn't continue to listen to Ryan's deed.

He was given the map of his apartment when he requested one, and with that, he was able to locate the different areas of the house.

***

Getting used to the life that he was living before the accident, he woke up and dashed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

He was almost done when his mother entered.

"Ryan" she screamed, making him flinch.

"What are you doing?" She asked, collecting the pan from him and switching off the gas cooker.

"What else? I'm cooking breakfast" he mumbled, getting confused

"Cooking? Is this why you chase away all your maids? Do you wanna bring down this building and kill yourself? What have I done to deserve this from you?" She asked, closing to tears already.

"Didn't he know how to cook?" He thought

"Does spoiled rich brats do any jobs, talkless of cooking?" His mind intervened

That was when he realized what he did wrong and what caused the confusion.

"Mom, you don't need to worry about anything. Trust me, I can at least prepare pancakes. I tried it when I was in college and it was tasty" he said trying to convince Emily but she went mute instead.

"What if he schooled from home?" He assumed.

Right now, he needed something to distract her from the cooking palava.

"I was about to meet you after breakfast. What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Gosh! I hope I don't die before I get old. Well, I am here to inform you that your doctor will be here today to check on you and if you are good enough, you will follow your father to the party meeting this evening. Also, here are your cards and car keys that were seized from you" she replied, handing over the card and keys to him

The card was the popular green card that he had heard about. For one to own the card, you must have nothing less than a hundred million Dollars in it.

"Thank you" he wanted to say but since Liam was a rude child, he had to behave like him, drop the cards and keys on the nearby table, and scoff.

"Selene should be the one sent from the hospital. I will not allow that new director to set his feet in my house, talkless of attending to me" he added, then turned back to go into his room

***

A few minutes later, he was all dressed up to go out. He was about to step his feet out of his room when he took a deep breath. He was already putting on a white shirt and black trousers and even used his tie like the professional doctor he was before he recalled that he wasn't the owner of the body.

He had to glare at Ryan's picture that was pasted on the wall, study his dress code then go for a change, where he had a baggy blue jean and a white round-neck top with lots of gold jewelry.

"Let's go out " he ordered Ezra as he stepped out of the house.

He gave him the address, which happened to be his late parent's house in the village. Ezra wondered his reasons behind visiting such a local village but he dared not query his master. Moreso, he has been acting weird since he lost his memories.

When they arrived at the village, he saw a white car that was parked, just a stone thrown at his house.

He knew the car belonged to his uncle and he needed not to be told that he was there to search for the healing book again.

Ezra also parked his car beside Josh's car, since that was the only parking space that was closer to his parent's house.

He walked majestically to the house, which had collapsed

"What are you doing here?" He questioned with his hoarse voice, getting more annoyed as he saw his uncle.

"Oh, Ryan? What are you doing here? What brings you to this remote village?" Unable Josh asked, faking a smile at the same time.

"Wasn't I the first to ask you that question?" Liam retorted, shunning his fake smile

"This is my sister's house. I got a call that it has collapsed and came for a visit, maybe I'll need to rebuild it" he immediately lied.

Liam glared at him from head to toe, he could see him wearing rubber gloves, which had dust on them, meaning that he had been searching for the book inside the collapsed house.

"You shouldn't be bothered about coming here again. The house belongs to me and I'll be the one to decide what to do with it" Liam uttered, pushing him aside and started checking the sound of the house.

Josh stood in the same spot, trying to digest what Liam meant by claiming ownership of the house.

"Mr. Ryan, I don't get what you mean by the owner of this collapsed building," He asked again, to clarify his doubts that his ears didn't hear him well

"Gosh! I don't like repeating words but I'll do that for the sake of the relationship that you shared with my father. I bought this house from your nephew, so get the heck out of my house right now!" He said, yelling at him when he said the last words.

Josh stood there, dumbfounded already. Did Desmond sell the house? When? Without informing him? If that's it, then he deserves the worst punishment for doing that behind his back!

If he sold the house, then he has taken the book somewhere else?

"Fuck!" He didn't know when he screamed out loudly. The anger sensation that was burning inside him was second to none.

Liam smirked, enjoying the horrible and dissatisfying look on his face.

He turned back to vacate the house but Liam called him back.

"Ain't you gonna apologize for messing with someone else's property?" He calmly asked.

Josh closed his eyes and took another deep breath. Desmond had turned him into a fool and he needed to apologize for trespassing into another person's property.

"It isn't bad to be a president's son. After All, it comes with wealth that buys respect" Liam thought as Josh bowed slightly to him to apologize.

After he left, Liam rushed into the house and began searching it. He brought out a local handbag that belonged to his late mother, where he had kept it.

Behold, the book was nowhere to be found.

"W-wh-what happened?" He stuttered.

  • The Rules of the Shadow Healing

The morning after Selene's visit, Desmond arrived at the laboratory before sunrise.Researchers moved between workstations carrying trays of dried herbs. Extraction units hummed steadily in one section of the building. The sharp scent of crushed leaves and medicinal roots lingered in the air.For a few minutes, Desmond enjoyed the quiet, then his office door opened. Dr. Paige entered carrying a tablet. She looked too tired to greet him and that alone was enough warning."Morning, Dr. Paige"She placed the tablet on the table with a little more force than necessary.“ There is nothing good about the morning, Don”.“ Wow!, that's harsh”Paige ignored Desmond's dramatic expression, then she pulled out a chair and sat down."I spent half the night reviewing inventory reports. If anyone says good morning to me right now, I might become violent.""Is it that serious?", Desmond asked“ It's worse”, she answered as she slid the tablet across the table.Desmond picked it up, and the smile on h

  • The Midnight clinic 2

A nurse led Selene through the underground corridor. The deeper they went, the more questions formed in her mind. The facility was too organized to be temporary. It was too well staffed and too well supplied.People moved with the familiarity of those who had been working there for some time. Eventually, the nurse stopped outside an office."Mr. Liam is inside""Thank you", Selene said. She knocked once, "Come in"Desmond glanced at her with a straight face, "Dr. Selene""Mr. Liam"The door closed behind her. For a few seconds, neither spoke, then Selene took a seat."I just had a conversation with your friend outside"Desmond nodded, "I assumed you would""He told me this facility is connected to the cartel"There was no point dancing around it, so Desmond decided to come out clean."Yes"Selene watched him carefully, "What exactly does that mean?""It means the people funding this place aren't saints"The answer didn't satisfy her, "I don't think that's what it means""No, It doesn'

  • The Midnight clinic 1

The investigation continued even after the Ministry cleared the clinics. The public pressure had eased, but inside the operations room, nobody was celebrating.Analysts stayed at their desks through the day and often deep into the night. Every financial trail they followed opened into something larger than the last. Every company led to another intermediary, and then another, until the structure stopped looking like a chain and started looking like a web that had no clear edge.Three days after the clearance announcement, Scorpion didn’t show up for the strategy meeting.Ezra noticed first, but he didn’t say anything right away. When Scorpion missed the second meeting, Ezra finally spoke, “That’s twice now, he is acting suspicious” Desmond gave a quiet chuckle, “ Every one of his actions is always suspicious. Maybe it's related to his company anyways”Ezra shrugged, but the concern stayed with him. By the next day, he finally called him."Where are you?", Ezra asked."I'm busy", Scor

  • The Point of Corrections

Desmond finally understood the pattern. The headlines, the fake medication, the bribed media, and the pressure on the Ministry were all part of a coordinated effort, not aimed at Liam personally but at the system he represented. His humanitarian model was disrupting powerful interests, and what they were seeing wasn’t a personal conflict or political dispute, but a coordinated pushback from an industry threatened by its success."So what now?", Scorpion uttered.Ezra pushed off the desk and straightened, "We have enough to fight back”Desmond didn't agree, “Not yet”Scorpion was also impatient, “Why?”“ None of this reaches the people who made the decision”, Desmond explained.Ezra understood first, "They’re middle layers, so they're disposable.""Exactly. So, if we go public now, they will take the fall. Every one of them. And the system keeps moving""The companies will deny it. The contractors disappear into it", Scorpion mentioned "And nothing sticks," Ezra said.Desmond looked d

  • Beyond the Clinic

The next trigger came sooner than Desmond expected. It was barely seven in the morning when Ezra walked into the office carrying a stack of reports."We found it", he suddenly announced.Desmond tore his attention away from the clinic records spread across his desk"Found what?""The break in the pattern"Scorpion left the window and walked over. Ezra placed the reports on the desk and opened the first file."Every region that experienced panic received calls from media contacts within thirty minutes of the first reports appearing"Scorpion reached for the documents, “That’s not unusual in cases like this”"It is when the same communications agency is connected to all of them"That made Desmond go still for a moment. He pulled the file closer and started reading:The first few pages contained call records. Further in were internal communications gathered overnight. The names attached to the reports changed from page to page, but the language barely did. Journalists working in differen

  • The First Casualty

“Are you telling me a child is dead because of Liam Andrew's treatment system?”“I'm telling you that's what the reports currently say”“Reports from who?” one analyst asked immediately. “The hospital hasn't released a final statement”“A child is dead,” another replied. “Are we supposed to ignore that?”“Nobody is ignoring it”“Then stop acting like people don't have a right to be angry”“Being angry and assigning blame are two different things”The host tried to intervene, “Gentlemen….”“No, because this is exactly the problem.”“The problem is that everyone wants a verdict before an investigation.”The argument rolled on while the headline remained fixed at the bottom of the screen.HOLISTIC TREATMENT UNDER INVESTIGATION AFTER CHILD DEATHBy afternoon, the story had spread across the country. Reporters were already camped outside the regional clinic, pushing microphones toward anyone who looked like they might have answers. Inside, it was mostly movement without clarity; staff slip
