Magnus and Jasmine arrived at the hospital and headed straight for the inpatient ward where their mother was being treated.

“So you and Jonas have been taking turns watching over Mom? And today is his shift?”

“Yeah.”

During the ride, Jasmine had explained everything—how their lives had been after Magnus "died."

She’d had to take a leave from college in her last two semesters. Jonas worked part-time three days a week after school.

They had no choice.

First, they have to pay for their mother’s endless treatments.

Second, they need to make sure that at least one of them could sleep at the hospital every night to stay with her.

That hit Magnus hard.

As the oldest son, he should’ve been the one taking that responsibility. But he hadn’t been there. He’d disappeared. And worse, he hadn’t helped at all with their mother’s care.

That, to him, was a failure. An utter failure.

But now that he was back, things would change. He’d make damn sure both of his siblings were freed from that burden—starting now.

“That’s her room,” Jasmine said, pointing at a door to the left.

Magnus looked at the sign. A C-Class room. One step above the cheapest type the hospital had.

Three years ago, back when he was still around, their mom had been treated in a B-Class room.

A downgrading. Most likely due to financial strain.

Magnus clenched his jaw.

They entered the room. Inside, a doctor and a nurse were checking their mom’s vitals. Jonas stood a few feet from the bed and turned the second the door opened. He froze.

“Dr. Flynn, what’s going on? How is my mom?” Jasmine asked anxiously.

Flynn, the tall doctor with round glasses, straightened up and sighed.

“The patient’s immune system continues to weaken. If this continues, she could fall into another critical state,” he said bluntly.

Jasmine pressed a hand over her mouth, the other on her waist. Her eyes welled with tears.

Magnus’s own eyes flickered—barely. A faint blue glow. He scanned their mother lying motionless in bed, an IV line in her arm and a clear oxygen mask over her mouth.

Something wasn’t right.

“Doctor, is there anything we can do to help her recover? Should we increase the dosage?” Jasmine asked, desperate.

“I doubt that would help,” Flynn replied, shaking his head. “It’s not about medication now. It’s about patient’s willpower. We’ve done all we can. With coma patients, medicine only supports the body—the willpower of the patient has to do the rest.”

“Please don’t say that,” Jonas snapped. “Our mom is strong. She wants to wake up. She wouldn’t leave us like this. There has to be something you can try. Some kind of new treatment.”

Flynn sighed again, visibly annoyed. “Like I said, we’ve done what we can. It’s up to the patient now.”

That shift in tone didn’t go unnoticed by Magnus. Either the doctor was done trying, or too tired, or too disinterested. Probably wanted to focus on patients who were still profitable.

That alone was enough to piss him off. Magnus stepped forward and placed a hand gently on his mother’s.

He knew it. Something was wrong.

“My brother’s right,” he said, voice calm. “Our mother is a strong woman. She will do everything she can to come back. This isn’t about her willpower, Doctor. Not at all.”

He turned his eyes to Flynn as he finished the sentence.

Flynn looked irritated. “And who the hell is this self-righteous guy?” he asked Jasmine.

“He’s… he’s my older brother,” she replied, awkward. “Our eldest.”

She then turned and gave Magnus a sharp look.

Flynn and Magnus locked eyes again.

“I don’t know what point you’re trying to make here, but I’ve been a doctor for over a decade,” Flynn said, chin raised. “You—someone with zero medical training—have no right to question my diagnosis.”

Magnus smiled, just a little. “True. You’ve got years in the field. I won’t pretend otherwise. But when it comes to this patient—my mother—I know more than you think.”

And he meant every word.

During his years trapped in that hellish world of monsters and magic, Magnus had mastered more than just combat. He'd studied healing arts, anatomical sorcery, and medical theory—things no Earth-trained doctor could ever grasp.

By touching her hand and scanning her body with his energy, he’d seen what others couldn’t.

The issue wasn’t her will to live. It was the medicine. Some of the drugs she’d been given were working against her. Not by accident, either. It was deliberate.

Flynn scoffed, insulted. He stuffed both hands into his coat pockets and raised his chin again.

“Well then. If you think you’re so much better than me, why don’t you try to heal her?” he challenged.

The room tensed. Even the nurse looked nervous.

Jasmine was clearly embarrassed. Jonas glared at Magnus like he wanted to punch him.

But Magnus just stood there, relaxed, and smirked.

“Alright,” he said. “Then step aside. Let me do what I need to do.”

Flynn chuckled mockingly. “You actually believe you can heal a comatose patient with zero qualifications? I’m starting to wonder if you’re mentally stable.”

Magnus ignored him and turned back to his mother. He began scanning her body more thoroughly with his energy.

Flynn, now clearly pissed at being ignored, narrowed his eyes.

“Fine. Go ahead. Heal her, oh great savior,” he sneered. “If you manage to pull off a miracle, I’ll give you two million dollars. Right here. Right now.”

Magnus paused and looked at him.

“You serious?”

“Dead serious,” Flynn replied, smirking like the arrogant bastard he was.

In his mind, there was a 0% chance Magnus could do anything meaningful. He could bet his entire fortune on that.

In fact, a wicked idea popped into his head.

“But if you fail,” Flynn added, “you have to admit you’re full of shit and apologize. Not just any apology. I want you to get on your knees and say how stupid you were to question a real doctor. And I’ll record it—with my phone—and post it on my social media.”

He smiled like a snake. That image—Magnus kneeling, begging, humiliated—was delicious.

But Magnus? He just grinned wider. He saw it differently. This was a chance to get free money.

“Alright,” Magnus said. He straightened up and extended his hand. “Let’s shake on it. I want to make sure you’re not bluffing.”

“Magnus, what are you doing?!” Jasmine hissed. “Stop this! You’re embarrassing us!”

“Relax,” Magnus said, locking eyes on Flynn. “The only one who’s gonna be embarrassed here… is this incompetent doctor.”

Flynn scoffed loudly. “Incompetent?! You’ve got some nerve, young man! Okay, deal!”

Flynn shaked Magnus’s hand.

At this moment, Flynn’s memories poured into his head.

Magnus saw everything. The smug smile on his face vanished. His eyes darkened and his jaw tightened.

‘Fucking bastard! You did this on purpose. You’ve been working with the Barbosa family all along. You’ve been sabotaging my mother’s recovery, you corrupt doctor!’

Clara took Magnus to an old garage. The size of the garage was small, and far from tidy. It was hard to imagine anyone would want to service their vehicles there. No one was out front. There was no music or anything. Clara turned off her motorcycle engine and approached Leon, standing right next to him."Is your friend in here?" Magnus asked, frowning."He should be. And you'd better be careful because he's a very aggressive person," Clara replied.Without explaining what she meant by "aggressive," Clara walked forward and entered the garage. She acted like someone who had been there often, and simply pressed a red button on the garage wall.A bell sounded. Quite loud. A moment later, the sound of someone descending the stairs was heard. And a man appeared. His skin was dark, his hair was dreadlocks, and his jaw was strong. His gaze was unfriendly."Hi, Z. How are you doing? Long time no see, huh?" Clara greeted him.The dark-skinned man called Z didn't answer, only glancing at Clara

  • I'm Counting On You

That night, Jasmine arrived at the apartment very late. Her cheeks were flushed red and her walk was a bit unsteady. Olive had invited her for drinks and she had ended up drunk."You okay? Have some water or wash your face, to freshen up," Magnus said, supporting Jasmine towards the dining room."I’m okay," Jasmine replied, but it was clear she was not fine. After Magnus seated her at the dining table, she immediately slumped onto the table, closing her eyes."Here. Drink this," Magnus said, placing a glass of fresh water from the sink in front of her.Jasmine didn't respond. She kept her eyes closed as if she had fallen asleep."The day after tomorrow... I'm leaving..." she mumbled.Magnus frowned. "Going where?""Out of town... I'm going to work there..."The creases on Magnus's forehead deepened."Is this about that offer from your old friend, then? You decided to accept it?""Yes, I accepted it... that offer... because...""The monthly salary is huge?""Exactly!"Magnus raised an

  • The Sooner, The Better

Finding Magnus merely silent and not saying anything, Gloria thought her trick had worked. She moved closer to Magnus, pressing her breasts against his chest.“So, what do you think? I won't leak what we do here to Jonas or anyone else. This will be our secret. And you... can thrust your big, long penis into my vagina.”Gloria said that with a sigh, right in Magnus's face. Helped by high heels, Gloria now stood nearly eye-to-eye with Magnus.“Come on, champ! What are you waiting for? What makes you hesitant?”Gloria held Magnus's left hand. And, just as she did to Jonas earlier, she guided Magnus's hand to her breast. Then she brought her lips close to Magnus's, intending to devour them. But Magnus pushed her away, making Gloria stumble back two steps."Stop wasting my time. Just state how much my brother still owes you, and after that, I'll let you go," Magnus said.Gloria looked at Magnus annoyed, unable to believe she had just been pushed. But then, it occurred to her that this mig

  • How About We Have A Little Fun?

Jonas opened his eyes, breaking free from Gloria's embrace. He turned to the left, finding Magnus standing there, his gaze judgmental."This... this isn't what you think," Jonas stammered."Is it?" Magnus asked, cynical.Jonas just realized his hand was still touching Gloria's breast. He quickly pulled it away. He also pushed his chair back, distancing himself from Gloria. And Gloria? She was now staring at Magnus. Judging by the sparkle in her eyes, she was clearly attracted to Magnus. How could she not be? Magnus's muscular body looked sexy beneath the tight T-shirt he was wearing. His aura was highly masculine. And he was better looking than Jonas. When Magnus shifted his gaze to her, Gloria immediately smoothed her hair and buttoned her shirt again. She then pointed at Jonas and said, "We were eating noodles and he suddenly started groping me. Then he kissed me full of lust."Jonas glared at Gloria, disbelieving his manager was slandering him."Jasmine told me you brought a friend

  • This Makes My Body Hot

In Magnus's luxurious apartment at The Grand Mersey..."So, this is where you live now? Hmm, your apartment is quite nice..."A woman in her mid-twenties said this while looking around the apartment that Magnus and his family lived in. Jonas had just brought her inside."Are you hungry? If you are, I'll make you something later. Just wait at the dining table," Jonas said, pointing towards the dining area."Okay. I'll wait for you there," the woman replied, still looking around the apartment.Jonas went into his room to change clothes. A moment later, he came out and went into his mother's room. Jasmine had entrusted him with making sure their mother was fine while she was out on important business.Gloria, the female friend Jonas brought, was now in the dining room, pulling out one of the dining chairs and sitting down. Again, she scanned the room as if trying to memorize every small detail. The enthusiasm in her eyes was slightly suspicious. So was her smile."What do you want to eat

  • Never Seen Something Like This

Jared didn't answer, just kept staring at Magnus. Magnus took a step forward and said, "I won this fight. If you're a real man, your word should be your bond."Jared scowled. He hated it when his opponent attacked his pride. And that's exactly what Magnus had just done."Fine. I’ll tell you, but not here," Jared said."Why?" Magnus asked, continuing to move closer."Because it’s gonna be a long, long conversation. Better do it at another place where there are only the two of us.""Hmm..."Magnus looked at Jared suspiciously. It could be a trick for Jared to evade him. But after thinking it over, the fighting arena truly wasn't a conducive place to discuss something important—and potentially secret."Okay. Then let's talk in the fighter's locker room. How about that?" Magnus proposed."Fine with that," Jared replied.Magnus stopped his advance. They were now close enough. Magnus extended his right hand, offering a handshake."Promise me you will come to my locker room after this," Magn
