"How could you become that fast and strong? What kind of training have you been doing?"

Jared sat down without asking permission. They were now facing each other, about three meters apart.

"Just some intense solo training. Calisthenics and stuff. Something like that," Magnus replied.

Of course, he couldn't tell the truth. But for some reason, seeing Jared's faint smile and his confident gaze, it crossed his mind that Jared knew what he was hiding.

"I see." Jared nodded. "Whatever it is, I'm really impressed with what you just did in the fighting arena. You toyed with your opponent—intentionally, I'm sure—and at one point you launched a devastating blow he couldn't avoid. And boom! The fight just ended. That was cool."

Magnus didn't know what to say, so he just stared at Jared silently. Secretly, he considered accessing Jared's memories. But before their conversation could go on any longer, Jared suddenly stood up, signaling that he was ending their chat.

The suggestion that Clara made was a bit offensive to Magnus. But, he had to admit, what she said was true.He had been looked down on—even insulted—many times because of his appearance. Maybe it was time for him to improve his appearance."Don't tell me you don't have more civilized clothes," Clara said.Magnus shrugged. "The truth is, I don't. But don't worry. I'll buy some first.""I'll buy them for you.""Huh?""Let's just buy them from an online store. You'll receive the tuxedo today if we use instant delivery service."Clara took out her phone, opening a marketplace app. Magnus wanted to ask her not to do it, but Clara's fingers moved so fast and her eyes radiated enthusiasm.Magnus shrugged. He stood up and walked to the sink, pouring more tap water into his glass....In the evening, at La Table Royale...Magnus got out of the taxi. With a tuxedo and shiny black loafers, he looked completely different. His hair was slicked back. A musky-scented perfume wafted from his body.He

Magnus turned to Clara."Yeah, I'm good," Clara replied.Magnus watched Clara as she rubbed and held her right leg. It seemed she had sprained it.The box truck behind them braked suddenly, followed by loud honking from the cars behind it. One of the men sitting in the front seat of the box truck got out, ran toward Clara, and helped her stand.Magnus scoffed. He straightened the sport motorcycle he was riding, his face and eyes focused forward. He saw the front window of the black sedan roll down. A man with sunglasses, who was driving the sedan, looked at him with an arrogant expression."Hey, you! Can't you be careful when you're crossing? Don't you see there's a vehicle coming?" Magnus protested. The man took off his sunglasses. The arrogance on his face became even clearer."You're just incompetent," he said. "Blame your i

  • You Haven't Realized Anything, Have You?

A taxi carrying Magnus was leaving The Grand Mersey. In the passenger seat, Magnus stared out the window, thinking about what Felix had said.‘Did I go too far? Should I just give that corrupt cop's memories back?’ he thought. He couldn't deny that by making the Merseyvale police chief an amnesiac, he was automatically inviting a new enemy. Yes, it was inevitable. But why should he think about it too much? At this point, he wasn't afraid to face anyone.Felix explained to him that the person being sent to Merseyvale to replace Frank was a legend in the police force. He was nicknamed The Iron Fist, and that was almost literally what it meant. Rumor had it that he had physical strength far above average. No one in the police force dared to challenge him, including the generals who were in higher positions. And the fact that he was sent to Merseyvale to fill the temporary leadership void in the Merseyvale police force showed that the central police department smelled something fishy in t

Magnus looked terrifying. And the groans of pain coming from Melvin's mouth made that fear feel so real."H-hey, bastard! W-what are you doing to my husband? A-answer me!!" Bianca urged, trying to be brave.Magnus didn't answer, turning his eyes back to Melvin, who was now having convulsions."Y-you watch him here. I-I'll call the security guards," Viona said, running out of the room in a panic.Bianca was too shocked to respond. Standing in her place, she stared at Magnus's back which seemed to be channeling electricity."I already gave you a warning," Magnus said coldly, "if you still try to bother my family, I will see it as a declaration of war. And now, accept what you have to accept."There was no shouting, no raised voice, but what Magnus said made Bianca's courage shrink. Or maybe it
