COLD!

Lucifer felt an unbearable chill crawling through his skin as he groggily stood up from the cold ground.

Subconsciously, he moved his hand down to his chest, feeling the warmth flowing through his beating heart.

‘What?’ Lucifer drew in a sharp breath, stunned.

He sat up slowly and touched his chest. It seemed like his heart was beating. However, Lucifer didn't know why, but he could tell that it was vastly different from a normal human heart.

At that moment, the memories from before came crashing heavily into his mind.

Lucifer’s eyes turned blank for a moment as he tried to process what had happened...

“I was... betrayed. Hahahaha, the last two I trusted betrayed me!”

Lucifer let out a deranged laugh. It was as though something had snapped in his mind as he laughed wildly.

Lucifer was an orphan, and only through the scholarship given to less privileged children was he able to get by in school.

‘My parents lived and died for the organization, and this is how I was treated?’ Lucifer let out another fit of deranged laughter.

After a long while, he finally calmed down and took the time to study his surroundings.

‘I'm still in the dungeon?’ Lucifer noticed the place was filled with dampness and little creatures clinging to the walls.

His expression changed drastically as he snapped his head in the direction where the dragon had previously been when it pierced his heart.

His eyes suddenly widened. “Gone? The dragon is gone? Did it take pity on me because of how helpless I was?”

Lucifer couldn't exactly tell what had happened since he had been unconscious.

‘No matter what, I'm glad to be alive. Although, upon going back, I will still return to being bullied. This time I will be even more of an outcast. It doesn't matter as long as I can keep living.’

With that thought, Lucifer stood up, his gaze turning to the portal not too far away. At some point, the shimmering portal had appeared as though the dungeon had been cleared. However, Lucifer could tell that wasn't the case.

Suddenly...

[Ding! Congratulations on awakening the Primordial Dragon System.]

Lucifer’s eyes widened in disbelief.

‘What? WHAT?’

The blue luminescent panel in front of his eyes didn't give him time to think as it flashed briefly before displaying a new line of words.

[You have a message left by the Primordial Dragon. Do you wish to view it?]

Subconsciously, Lucifer nodded his head.

The system took it as a cue and immediately displayed a new line of words.

[Human. I am one of the last remaining dragons. If things continue like this, I know my kind will be destroyed with time. We are too prideful and are unable to accept that our defeat is inevitable at the hands of the ten thousand races. However... I know the truth.]

[Descending to this lower realm, after billions of years I finally found my successor, you. There is a great secret hidden within you which even I couldn't completely glimpse. With time, I believe you will find out the truth.]

[I hope you fulfill my wish and destroy all the myriad races. Transcend time and bring the dragons back to their former glory.]

[You might not want this, but I sacrificed my life, fusing with you and forcefully turning you into a half-human, half-dragon.]

[By continuously evolving, you will increase in strength and continuously evolve, gaining legendary dragon traits, all the way until you stand above the Primordial Dragon.]

‘This...’ Lucifer’s eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the glowing lines of words in front of him.

“What?” He could hardly believe what he was reading, and his mind found it hard to process everything.

He reread the message before drawing a sharp breath...

“Can something like this happen?” he found it hard to believe.

Were dragons so terrifying that it required the ten thousand races to kill them off?

What was the uniqueness the dragon was talking about, and why had it chosen him?

Was he now considered a dragon?

Many questions swirled in Lucifer’s mind, and he felt a slight headache.

‘The good thing is... I actually have a system!’ Lucifer felt unprecedented joy at this revelation.

He knew that only people with SSS-rank talents could awaken a system.

‘Does that mean I received an SSS-rank talent from the dragon?’

There was only one way to find out.

Taking a deep breath, Lucifer called out lightly, “System, display my information...”

[Host: Lucifer]

Strength: 10.2

Agility: 10.4

Endurance: 10.7

Defense: 9.1

‘This...’ Lucifer read through the lines of words and frowned slightly. This was considered below average based on the information he had heard.

He frowned slightly, then his gaze moved downward.

[Congratulations, your F-rank talent, Creation, has evolved into the SSS-rank talent Primordial Genesis.]

[Primordial Genesis: By using energy points gained from killing, you can create anything.]

[Bloodline: Primordial Dragon]

[Current bloodline abilities: Primordial Eyes, Dragon Devouring Art.]

[You have received the Primordial Dragon bloodline. Due to its uniqueness, only one percent has been infused.]

[Use the Dragon Devouring Art, kill other creatures, and absorb their bloodlines, strengthening yourself. That way, the percentage of the Primordial Dragon bloodline will naturally increase.]

[Collect 100 F-rank dungeon cores to evolve your dragon bloodline into a Fledgling Dragon bloodline after completely infusing the corresponding bloodline points.]

[Bloodline points: 0/100%]

Lucifer’s gaze scanned the message, intently reading through everything, his eyes filled with shock.

‘Damn!’ he drew in a sharp breath.

“Just as the legends say, having an SSS-rank talent truly sets one above everything else... and I also possess the Primordial Dragon bloodline... killing creatures... clearing dungeons...”

Lucifer read through the information once again and exhaled. His life had changed drastically.

From being betrayed, broken, and completely discarded as trash, he had been raised up by the dragon, blessed with so many gifts...

“Humans...” Lucifer’s gaze turned cold as he gazed toward the portal.

“I will destroy all the races! And I will start with the worthless humans...” Since he was now a half-dragon, Lucifer no longer considered himself part of that weaker race. He was now something stronger, greater... primordial.

He restrained the chill emanating from him and quietly exited the portal.

Glancing quietly at the portal, which was gradually cracking apart, Lucifer bowed slightly.

“Thank you, Primordial Dragon, for giving me a new life.”

[Ding! You have received a new mission.]
