“Okay sir,” Elena nodded without questions. Knowing Maxwell, Nathan must have made problems with the wrong person. “I ask to take my leave now if there’s nothing more.”

Maxwell nodded.

“Mum, are you sure about this?” Arabella asked with skeptical tune as she stared at the grand hotel through the taxi window. Her brows raised.

Why would Nathan arrange a meeting between her and the director of Forest Hills in a hotel at 11pm?!

“Don’t be afraid, Arabella. Nathan won’t bite you. Besides, you should be thankful to him after all he’s trying to help you escape the pit that useless man caused for us,” Sienna spat out with disgust.

Arabella sighed. “Mum, you shouldn’t be too harsh on Maxwell. He believes in me, that's why he acted that way.”

“Hmph,” Sienna scoffed. “You would always stand up for him. Anyways, that will all end soon. Hurry along, we wouldn’t want you to be late now, would we?”

Arabella nodded, although still not feeling too good about this. She couldn’t ignore the pit feeling in her stomach as she alighted from the taxi.

Inhaling deeply, she walked forward. Following her mother’s directions, she asked the receptionist for room 404. Stepping out from the elevator and entering into the room, Nathan was sitting on the bed, holding two glasses of red wine.

Arabella furrowed her brows, looking around the room. The air suddenly felt suffocating. “Where’s the director, Nathan?”

“He’s coming,” Nathan replied, handing her one of the glasses in his hand. “But first, let’s make a toast because once you get this deal, you will become the chairman of Zade's group and that’s worth celebrating.”

Arabella stared at the glass and glanced back at Nathan.

“What? Come on, take it. It’s not like I would try to poison you or something,” Nathan chuckled. “It’s not alcoholic, don’t worry. I want you to be sober for the meeting.”

Arabella pursed her lips, shrugging her shoulders before sipping from the glass. The wine was sweet but tasted weird. As she tried to drop the glass down on the table, it slipped from her fingers, crashing to the floor and breaking into pieces.

The room began to spin and her legs felt soft like jelly.

“Nathan… what did you…” She mumbled, holding her head.

Nathan’s lips twisted into a vicious grin as he watched her movements, catching her before she could hit the floor. “Nothing comes for free, Arabella. I have always wanted you from the first time I saw you and seeing how beautiful you are, I can’t resist. By tomorrow morning, you won’t have any choice but to become mine and perhaps I would be kind enough to give your husband some money to leave you alone after all he has nothing now and he is a nobody. Little wonder, why you would still stick with him…”

He yanked her onto the bed and she fell weakly into it. Arabella cried and kicked as he walked towards her.

“Nathan… please don’t. Maxwell!”

Maxwell arrived at the Green’s residence only to find it empty and no sign of Arabella being at home. He dialed her phone only to have to go into voicemail countless times.

Ping.

His phone buzzed in his hand. A GPS tracker he had hidden in Arabella’s earring came to life with a location on his phone.

The Grand Hotel. Room 404.

The room seemed to have plummeted to a few degrees as Maxwell’s eyes darkened with fury.

Back in the hotel room, Nathan was fiddling with his buttons while licking his lips, staring at the weak Arabella.

“Calling for your husband to save you? Don’t be silly,” He said. “I have security everywhere as soon as they see him, they will throw him out. You are all mine!”
