Now, put her in her room and get out. You have done more than enough. And don’t think we have forgotten about the stunts you pulled, embarrassing all of us. The deadline is tomorrow and all eyes are on us now all because of you. He wondered who would have cursed Arabella with such a vile mother. “We shall see who will have the last laugh.” The next morning, Arabella’s eyes fluttered open. A resounding headache slammed into her immediately, she held her head with a groan while trying to sit up. Her vision was fuzzy as she squinted her eyes trying to take in her surroundings. “Bella, are you okay?” Maxwell said beside her, a worried look in his eyes as he handed her a pill and a glass of water. “Here, take this, it will help with the headache.” Arabella reached out weakly and drank, a few minutes later she felt much better. Suddenly, the memories of last night slammed into her. She remembered getting off the taxi in front of the Grand Hotel with her mother urging her on to meet with the director of the Forest Hill company and Nathan. “Maxwell, what happened? How did I come back home?” She asked with a raised brow. “You don’t remember what happened? Nathan tried to force his way with you last night. I came in and saw you lying on the bed unconscious,” Maxwell narrated. “Oh my! Did he touch me? What happened to him?” Arabella’s hand flew towards Maxwell. Maxwell held her in his hands softly. “No, he didn’t touch you. I made sure of it.” Arabella shuddered at the dark look in Maxwell’s eyes. “Did… you do something to him? What happened to him?” Maxwell shrugged. “I don’t know. He wasn’t in the room when I came in.” “That’s not possible,” Arabella muttered, trying to fetch back her memories but nothing came back but she was sure she had heard groans of pain and breaking of glasses and someone carrying up from the bed and spoke to her. That voice… That voice sounded like Maxwell. She looked up at him, many questions running through her. He was definitely hiding something from her. The beads he had gifted to her grandfather were an extraordinary piece according to Master Holloway, how did he get his hands on it?
