Betty had finally arrived at Gotham City. It was long, tedious, and involved a two-hour journey on bike and another three-hour by train. What made it more cumbersome was that she kept seeing any car or truck speeding toward her as a potential death carrier, and didn't believe Bobby wasn't on the train with her until she finally stepped down. But the good news was that she arrived safely and was believed to have lost Bobby. But then, this fact seemed not to be a source of joy to this enraged-looking lady as she pressed the alarm button beside the front gate and then glared into the camera. She knew Linda was at home. She hardly goes out during the daytime. Linda believed she was a kind of night owl and wouldn't step out of the house before the stars and moon did. So, What's taking her so long?

Betty waited, and just when she was about to pull out her phone and call Linda, she heard a rattle of iron bracing against iron, and a smaller section of the gate swung open. Betty walked inside,

  • THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS    A COUNTRY BUMPKIN

Terry had toughened up a bit before reaching the age of fourteen. That was quite expected, a country boy couldn't survive at Anderson College without developing thick skin. Either you are tough or you get carted off home like Kelly, Nelly, or some other boys Terry has heard of or met. Funny enough, no one ever touches them, but there are other ways of bullying. A more effective but sly way. Before getting admitted to Anderson College, Terry had always been told that bullies were arrogant bunches with big sacks of dung and turnips for heads. He found out that wasn't always the case. Most bullies considered themselves sophisticated wits, using savage sarcasm and public humiliation to keep people like Terry in their place. Bobby Shit was a prime example. Anyone else with the surname Shit would have had a nickname, but not Bobby. He was too popular to have a nickname...and too dangerous. So, Bobby Shit will always be Bobby Shit. For some reason, Bobby decided to take a special interest

  • THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS    AS DEAD AS A DINOSAUR

Terry was right. He was as dead as a dinosaur in a few hours. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't aware yet. The first few moments as a spirit are always very disconcerting. Your mind, unaware of the state change, still believes everything is the way it used to be. Subconsciously, you try to force physics into the spirit world. How can I be flying down a vast tunnel and still look at myself lying spread-eagled close to the riverbank? Practically impossible. Conclusion: I'm dreaming. Terry told himself he was dreaming. A nice dream, for a change. No abusive stepfather waiting for him with a leather whip, no sick mother to blame him for everything that ever goes wrong, or some bullies stalking him at school. He was free. Free at last. So he decided to relax. The tunnel was big and boundless, and it was full of floating dots. Dots that Terry soon realized were humans.People floating in the tunnel? Damn crazy?...no! He surely must have heard something like that before. Something about t

So, he rejected the pregnancy, got married to another lady of his race, and then lived happily after. Jimmy's misery started the day Bobby Shit and Co got acquitted of their crime and returned to school. Jimmy will forever hate Terry for this. • THE GHOST AND THE EARTHBOUND DEMONS    SUPERNATURAL INTRUSION

I want to leave this body, Terry thought. I want to just float out the same way I came in. And that's what he did, detached himself like a wet Band-Aid, flopping to the ground beside a suddenly exhausted Jimmy. Jimmy's lungs were pumped to bursting, and his legs shook like reeds, "Oh! You have not only broken my mother's favorite chair, but now you have made me break our television. What have you gotten me into, Terry?""It's okay, Jimmy," Terry mumbled to pacify his near-to-tears friend."You know, for a second there..." Jimmy puffed. "For a second there, I was scared and thought I was dying.""It's kinda eerie to me as well.""So, why are you back, Terry?""You won't believe it?""Try me.""I'm back to capture some earthbound demons and then send them back to Ghoul."Jimmy snorted. He had believed Terry came to haunt those who killed him, and anything besides that wasn't welcome in his ear. "What about Bobby and his gang of hyenas?""Well," Terry said. "I may pay them a visit sinc

Oh, It seemed like yesterday to me.""Is heaven real?""Verily.""And hell?""Yes.""Tell me about heaven?""I didn't make it there. I was stopped in front of the pearl gate ."Jimmy's eyes became huge. "It's the gate truly made of Pearl? It must be really beautiful.""Yeah. Very beautiful and filled with shining light. I'm unable to glance at it because of the dazzling light, so I can't describe it to you in detail.""Tell me everything that has happened to you since you died."Terry cleared his throat and began to narrate everything he had passed through, he told him about the tunnel and the floating dots, about Saint Peter, the earthbound demons, and then about the reason why he was sent back

  • IMMUNE TO THE PARASITE

Ale had finally allowed Tulip to go. An action he hated doing but did nevertheless. As the only suspected member of the church who may have informed the police about Danny's presence inside the cell in the church underground, Ale had tortured Tulip, made him pull out his front tooth, and then forced him to chop off the last finger on his left leg. All through the pain and torture, Tulip maintains his innocence. He wasn't the one who called the cops. He had no reason to. Unfortunately for Ale, he no longer has access to Tulip's memory because the host has now grown immune to the parasite. No way to prove Tulip's crime, or innocence.Even though Ale vowed to get to the root of this, he had no choice but to let Tulip go. "I will search for you when I have needs of you. Make sure you bathe and put on a nice scent to cover up the smell of sex." Ale said as he floated out of Tulip and went in search of Judas. Tulips force a smile and immediately wobble out of sight. • THE DEAD DON'T SPEAK

Several questions raced through Danny's mind as he glared at the officers in front of him. Had the officers known about any of his recent crimes? Is that why they are here? It must be his recent robbery...or, maybe the kidnapping. No, it was his last money laundering mission! But Danny's confusion was put to rest when an officer smiled at him and then stretched his arm towards him. They won't smile at me if they believe I'm guilty of any crime. I think I'm the victim here, Danny thought and was able to breathe easily after. "Your wounds were bad, lad. You need to see the doctor immediately. Don't worry, these men will be punished for abducting and torturing you."Judas and Tulip appeared at the back of the cops, and their presence made Danny skip his breath and then push the officer's arm away."Nobody abducted me, officer. I am here on my own free will."The officers were shocked. What did he mean when he said he was here on his own free will? Danny was locked up in a cell. A well-f

  • STARED AT DEATH IN THE FACE

Betty's right leg was on the car's pedal, the left leg was on the brake, and her two palms were wrapped around the steering wheel. A task only a few can live to tell.As Betty's car sped through the lonely highway, only one question ran through her mind; why did Bobby let her go?Whatever his reason. • ROUSED THEIR FEATHERS

After dropping Tulip at the spot where Danny's bike was parked, Jimmy did a U-turn and then journeyed back to the city."The demons have started possessing people, and the more they were allowed to do this, the stronger they become. Something needs to be done." Terry said. While Jimmy informed Holo to tell Saint Peter to send more ghosts, Holo would not take any of that. According to the body of light, the saint is already taking a great risk by sending Terry. A risk that can cost him his job if it gets to the wrong ears. Why should he add more?Terry suggests going to the police, but Jimmy disagrees. He hates the police. His hatred started from their handling of Terry's murder. Holo's suggestion was the craziest of all, but what were you expecting?"Let's put fire on the church and burn it to the ground. We can then attack them as they run helter-skelter.""We have ninety demons lodging in that church, Holo," Terry screamed. "And besides, burning down people's property is an offens

  • BLIND FAITH

Thomas and Maria were happy again. They have every reason to be. Thomas was no longer bitter and sour-looking, he had quit smoking and no longer drink. As for Maria, she had suddenly been healed of all her mysterious sickness. Unknown to her, her narcissistic husband had been feeding her drugs to get sick and not to heal her. Her sickness was a result of an abused use of drugs. In other words, Maria was healthy until Thomas started telling her she was sick and then started feeding her with drugs. But since their return from the church, Thomas had either forgotten his vengeance against his wife or was too preoccupied to embark on it. Either way, Maria was as strong as a bull, and flesh could be seen where bones were previously sticking out. Her yellow eyeballs had turned back to white, and her skin now shone instead of wrinkling. She was a pleasant sight to behold. Today, Maria was seen playing a virtual game on her newly bought phone when a car drove into their compound and a man

  • ADVANTAGE OF BEING HUMAN

Just like Druid, Craig also realizes that the dark web is the only place where he can get an experienced kidnapper. But unlike Druid, Craig doesn't need to possess anyone to register. That's one of the advantages of being human. After attending to his morning chores, which involved a brief meeting with the teaching and non-teaching staff, a short meeting with the vice president, and then attending to some teacher's and students' complaints, Druid was free at last. Free to attend to his personal needs, and surfing the web was a priority. Druid pulled his laptop closer and began to type on the keyboards. He soon found what he wanted, and a kind of smile began to grow on his lips as he checked the men's profiles one by one. Among the profiles checked, only one stands out. They were called the Doom twins, and they specialized in assassination, armed robbery, and kidnapping. Craig loves one thing about them, their high rate of successful operations. Unfortunately, this means their fee w

  • NO MASTER WILL LOVE TO BE A SLAVE

Betty was befuddled. Bobby allows her to go. It was a three-minute headstart, but that's all Betty needed to escape death. As soon as Bobby let go of her wrists, she turned and fled. Instead of running through the compound, out of the gate, into her car parked outside, she did the opposite. Betty emerged inside the vast compound, turned left, began to circle the building, and then stopped at the direct opposite of her starting point. Here was where the garage was located, and inside the garage was Betty's favorite car. A mustang. It was a limited edition. Gave to her by her father on her eighteen years old birthday. The car started immediately she pressed the green button, and she was out of the garage after. She drove straight, towards the area of the fence covered with molasses. As soon as her Mustang hit the spot, pieces of wood shattered. It was the family's secret escape route. Betty placed the back of her right palm on her head, her left hand on the steering wheel, and h
