Chapter 2

GREASH – MAGIC WORLD

The heat from the fireplace kept Adam awake. The different atmosphere made him realize that he was not in his room.

"Where am I?"

"Ah, you're awake."

A man with white hair and all white clothes approached Adam. In his hand was a large bowl filled with warm water and a cloth to compress Adam's body.

The foreign man who Adam didn't recognize at all made him move from his position.

“Who are y--.” Adam's sentence stopped, he closed his eyes for a moment because his head felt quite sore and his vision was spinning.

“Take your time, falling from a tree does take a while to heal. Your head is a function of everything, so, when it hits, some parts will definitely go a bit wrong.”

Adam frowned and said, "What do you mean?"

"Have you lost your memory too? You don't remember falling out of the Hyperion tree? I found you in the jungle and brought you home since last night. Uh, my name is Gwydion, by the way and who is your name? I've never seen you before."

Adam was still digesting every word that came out of the man in front of him. His memory was still strong about the accident that happened to the old man, not falling from a tree as Gwydion had explained. Besides that, the clothes he was wearing were similar to Gwydion's, obviously this was even more confusing.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Gwydion patted Adam's shoulder who was still stunned.

"Nothing, I'm just wondering about this place. Actually, I don't remember ever falling from a tree, the last thing I did was a car accident due to the presence of a strange old man that I don't even know where it came from.”

Adam's sentence seemed to make Gwydion a little surprised, he even immediately sat down and looked at Adam seriously as if something bad was about to happen.

"Tell me more about the old man, what are his characteristics?"

“He has long white hair and wears a black robe…”

The concern on Gwydion's face actually made Adam very worried. He was afraid of giving out too much information, but he also needed clarity on his whereabouts now.

Gwydion rubbed his hands together while closing his eyes, the face of an old man then appeared in his palms.

“Is this the person who came at you?”

'What? How did he do it?' Adam widened and muttered to himself, his focus now was no longer on the old man's face, but the miraculous power that Gwydion had performed.

“Yes, he is. You know about him?"

"Yeah, he's a Go--."

The sound of horses made Gwydion's words stop, he immediately got up and peeked through the window. The tall nosed man then came back to Adam and said, “You will be taken to the wizarding council's mansion. Don't say anything about the strange thing you've experienced, just say you came from the southern star using a portal.”

“OPEN THE DOOR!”

Even though Adam didn't quite understand what Gywdion was saying, he followed the white-haired man's advice. A man's deep voice sounded at the front door, making both of them immediately move.

Two people with black masks wearing all black clothes were seen when the door opened. They didn't say anything and immediately pulled Adam's body behind Gwydion.

'What the hell are they doing?' Adam muttered to himself.

A horse-drawn carriage with a strange creature shaped like a deer with a goat's head sitting at the wheel. Adam's body was roughly pushed into the carriage, a man with long flowing white hair seemed to be sitting in the corner of the carriage with a cold gaze.

“Who is your name?”

"Adam."

The purple-eyed man smiled a crooked smile, he then suddenly grabbed Adam's face in front of him and pointed his hand at Adam's head. After a few moments, he seemed to growl and let go of his grip.

“What kind of magic did you use? I can't penetrate you, you must be a member of the Gonie who's been hiding all this time.”

"I don't understand what you're saying. I'm just lost in this place,” Adam tried to answer calmly, even though his heart was quite panicked.

"Where do you come from?"

Adam was momentarily stunned while recalling the reason Gwydion had said earlier, "Southern star, I got lost due to an error in my portal."

“Ah, southern star, you guys are the lowest caste in the wizarding world. Descendants of Elves and Sirens. However, your face is not like most of them.”

The hoarse-voiced man in front of him made a suspicious expression, but Adam still looked calm. It's just that the voice in his heart was so noisy wishing that his lies would not be exposed.

Luckily, no more conversation took place between the two. The long-haired man chose to close his eyes along the way. Meanwhile, Adam just enjoyed the sight that was so stunning to the eye.

Some strange animals flying outside the carriage also added to Adam's curiosity about this place. His admiration grew even more when a magnificent white building was seen in the window of the carriage.

The building was high black fenced and on the right side of a red dirt road, the carriage carrying Adam continued on toward the rear of the stately mansion until they stopped in front of a black gate with two pig-headed guards holding spears.

The long-haired man took his hand out of the window, giving a code to the two guards. Not long after, the horse-drawn carriage sped up again and entered part of a fairly large building made of stone with torches shining on each side.

"Come on."

Adam and the long-haired man got off the carriage. The atmosphere of the dark room with dim torches reminded Adam of the place in his dream.

"This place…."

"What's wrong with this place?" The long-haired man overheard Adam's muttered sentence.

Luckily, Adam remained calm and replied, “Nothing. It's just the same place as the place in the southern star."

Four lights of red, blue, brown and white seemed to float before them when the long-haired man's steps stopped. All the torches that had dimmed immediately lit up brightly. Only then did Adam see clearly that the entire stone room had such beautiful carvings.

"Give me your hand."

Adam thrust his hand at the long-haired man in front of him. The man then placed Adam's hand on a black stone floating under the four lights.

A hot sensation radiated as his hand started to touch the black stone. The four brightly shining lights flashed alternately, then stopped at the two blue and brown colors.

The two lights then penetrated between Adam's fingers, causing the man to flinch and feel a completely different sensation on his body. He groaned slightly in pain as if his body was being struck by a thousand pieces of iron.

“Okay, I don't think you have anything to do with Gonie. I'm sure you citizens of the south star will know about Greash, you have the elements of water and earth. Even so, you've come here and can never return to the southern star. You--."

The long-haired man's sentence stopped, he and Adam both turned to the four lights which were now flashing alternately like before.

“What?! What happened!” The long-haired man looked panicked and immediately pulled Adam's hand to put it back on the black rock.

The light stopped at green and red, then entered Adam's body like the previous two lights. This time, Adam didn't feel any painful sensation, he felt that his body was so cool and calm. His anxiety lessened, he also felt that his gaze was now much sharper than before.

"This can't be, how—Okay, you have to meet Sir Alatar."

The long-haired man stepped swiftly out of the rocky building; Adam followed him quite astonishedly. His head was still filled with everything that had just happened.

A blue membrane appeared around his body. Just before he returned to the carriage, the long-haired man looked at him and asked, "Are you sure, you’re not connected with Gonie? You will feel your body split into small pieces when you lie, Adam."

Adam shook his head, "No. Even when you torture me, I will never know who is Gonie that you mean."

“Okay, come in. Let's see if you stay or break into small pieces.”
