Chapter 3

Adam and the long-haired man arrived at the luxurious black-fenced mansion that had caught Adam's eye earlier. A cold aura approached them when two strange creatures with alien faces came and stared at them from the window. The strange creature's eyes emitted red light and illuminated every side of the carriage.

Not long after, the sound of a gate being pushed was heard. The horse-drawn carriage sped back into the grounds of the magic council's luxurious mansion.

"Hold my shoulders."

The long-haired man looked at Adam; he immediately followed his lead, and in an instant, they arrived at a large carved room filled with abstract paintings. The room is red, with a golden door in the corner, guarded by a giant snake attached to the door.

"Alazaka tor burpee."

The long-haired man cast a spell as he drew his wand at the coiled snake. Instantly the snake woke up and hissed, its big fangs exposed and made Adam step back a little.

The originally black snakeskin turned red; it widened to fit the door's shape. The door then opened, and the long-haired man started to step inside.

A luxurious golden staircase was the only object in the small room. The long-haired man, who didn't budge, immediately stepped onto the stairs while looking at Adam with eyes that signaled him to keep following his steps.

The ladder turned, leading them to another black door with a dragon's head stuck on it.

'How many doors do you have to go through to meet this person?' Adam muttered to himself.

There was no magic this time, the long-haired man placed his hand on the dragon's eyes, and when a white light appeared from the dragon's eyes, he immediately pushed open the door.

A bright red huma bird hovering in the gray-lit room greeted Adam and the long-haired man.

"Keep your head down!"

The long-haired man immediately bent his body while pulling Adam to follow him.

The figure of the Huma bird flew in front of them and transformed into a man with shoulder-length brown hair and green eyes wearing a red robe with a black gradient. The long silver staff was in the grip of his long fingers.

"Raymond, what brought you here?" This man's voice sounded like water without waves, so calm and soothing.

The long-haired man named Raymond raised his head and said, "Sir Alatar, I came with Adam, a resident of the southern star who got lost here. He has perfect magic abilities. He admits he didn't--"

"Get out, Raymond. Let me talk to him."

Alatar smiled kindly at Adam. He flicked his hand and lit up the entire room.

"So, Adam, you have quite a great and strong strength. I'm trying to see you with all my might but can't be penetrated. What brings you to this place?"

"Portal, I wanted to go somewhere in the southern star but instead entered here," Adam said calmly.

"An interesting coincidence. Did you know that you will never be able to return to the southern star? There are rules in Greash that must be fixed. But I can give you one solution, and you can travel anywhere you want if you are willing to join the magic council. Your aura is blue, the same as mine."

Adam just realized what Alatar said; the man's body was similar to Adam's, surrounded by a glowing blue membrane.

"How profitable would that be for me? Apart from being able to travel anywhere, I need to know every detail of your benefits. I don't know how the system of this place is; it's just that from what has happened, I understand that my strength cannot be taken for granted," said Adam; he kept a flat expression and tried not to be nervous.

Adam's poker face science works well. No one could read how restless Adam's heart was at this time. He realized he had to stay calm to survive in this strange place.

"I like your attitude, which is quite expensive and firm. You're right; you have prowess in Greash, but are you a pro in magic in the southern star? You guys are indeed the lowest part of the caste of the wizarding world, but I mean, are you above the average population there?"

Adam smiled a crooked smile, "Same. I think it's my destiny to be a part of you. So, what will happen if I join the magic council?"

"You'll find out later; I can't say much right now. I need complete trust to open all my plans to new people like you. In the meantime, if you are willing, you will receive special training in your skills. You can think tonight. I'll give you an empty room in this mansion so you can rest," Alatar patted Adam's shoulder.

"Interesting offer, but sorry, I won't be sleeping at your place. I'm returning to Gwydion's house; he helped me while lying in the forest. I need to talk and thank him for his kindness. I will return to you tomorrow, and by the way, what will happen if I refuse your offer, Sir Alatar?"

Alatar tilted his head slightly and put on a sinister face, "Then you will be held in a special room until you join us. I'm sure you won't turn me down, Adam. This is something big; you can grasp this world very easily. Now, go; I will wait for your answer, Adam."

Adam nodded slowly and quickly left Alatar's room. Just as the door closed, Alatar turned off all the lights in his house and disappeared like an Huma bird again.
