Kael sat still, his gaze fixed on the beautiful woman in front of him.

He shut his eyes mumbling some words to himself. Kael was supposed to be at Lochart's mansion by now.

He was supposed to be meeting his supposed fiance after getting into New Orleans the other night.

He coughed slightly and Seraphina turned, changing her nonchalant posture on the bed.

The sun filtered through the blind, casting a heat on her face.

She snapped her eyes open suddenly trying to guess where she was.

Her eyes scanned the room before they finally landed on Kael.

" Who are you?" she asked, her eyebrows arched.

" I saved you. Don't you remember?" Kael said, his gaze fixed on her.

Instead, Seraphina looked under the sheets and her face went pale.

" Did we..." she gulped the thick saliva at the back of her throat before she finished her words. " Did we have sex?" she asked.

Kael was short of words.

He simply stared at the bizarre woman in front of him and couldn't believe it was the same lady that was asking for his help last night.

" It was the only way." he muttered

Seraphina's face changed into rage. Her eyes landed on the simple T-shirt that was hanged on the hanger not too far away from the wardrobe, then her eyes drifted to his boots.

They were having muds on them and they looked like some second hand shoes the lesser people wore.

A look of contempt showed on Seraphina's face as she stared at him.

" You call sleeping with me the only way to save me?" she barked, grabbing the white bedsheets around her body. "oh my god!"

She exclaimed combing her messy hair backwards.

Kael's eyebrows furrowed. He was not sure if she was messing with him or if she really didn't remember what happened.

" You were drunk and not only that you could have been raped by three men." he said getting up

Seraphina's eyes went over his body.

Unlike the body of the elite men who wanted her. They were nicely clothed and their dressing screamed of wealth and power.

They look nothing like the man in front of him.

" Are you saying you took it upon yourself to rape me then?" Seraphina said with anger. " Do you even know who I am?"

Kael frown a bit.

He looked at his watch again and back at her face. " You know I got this place. You can ask the manager or probably the receptionist. They would tell you how you were drooling all over me when we walked in. Do you honestly think a man of my status is capable of doing such a thing?"

Seraphina's face changed its colour.

Her gaze scanned the man in front of her from head to toe. " Wow! you think I give a fuck about who you are? I bet you must have been thrilled to have me laid. Have you been stalking me? Is that why you have decided to ruin my life by sleeping with me? Are you going to blackmail me?"

She kept asking Kael tons of questions giving him no time to answer any of it.

" Can you calm down?" Kael said rubbing his temple.

" Omg! Did you just tell me to calm down? I should get you arrested and lock up for sex assault!" Seraphina shouted.

She had a migraine and immediately clutched her head.

" You should take it easy, ma. I don't know why you think I am the enemy but trust me, all I ever did was try and help you. You were not yourself last night and you probably might have died from whatever it was that was inserted into your system." Kael said defensively.

" I see! So, who are you? You claim you are all high and mighty didn't you? Judging from what you wear, I bet I could pay your salary and feed you." Seraphina said with anger

Kael laughed. " Trust me. I don't need your money or whatever it is that you are offering. I only helped because you won't let go of my shirt."

Seraphina held her head and the memories of last night flooded back into her head.

She was supposed to meet with Alex Collins to complete a business deal but after taking the first glass of champagne and the second, she was no longer herself.

Alex was leading her to one of his hotel rooms when she ran. She had managed to dodge the guards and ran into the street when she fell into his arms.

Kael could see the look of frustration in her eyes so he walked back to bed.

" You know what, I was going to meet my fiancé when all of this happened. Why don't you marry me? We had sex didn't we? I am sure I took your virginity. To make all of this go away."

But Seraphina scoffed.

" Do you even know who I am? Do you know how many big and rich men line up just to see my beautiful face? Or do you know how many men queue everyday just to ask for my hand in marriage?"

In actual truth, Seraphina was the CEO of the most popular and famous clothing brand in all of New Orleans.

Elites would like up just to see her while men would leave their wives and girlfriends just to have a bit of her.

Kael sighed.

" Well, it seems we are not on the same page. I just got to New Orleans and I don't really know anyone around here. Not even you Miss. I don't know how famous you are or how many men are queuing to have you in their arms. All I did was try and help. Something I am regretting at the moment." he said staring at her face.

" And I will make sure you regret the very day you met me! You are going to wish you haven't!" Seraphina spat

Kael simply smiled, " Believe, me. I am not the man you think I am."

The room went quiet. Roland suddenly felt his body much more calmer throughout Kael's last touch. He slowly got to his feet and placed a hand on Kael's shoulder."I know how you feel. The rage, the anger and of course the sorrow. But you are better than they are, Kael. You are a god among men." "A god with lots of noise inside his head. Do you know I hear their voices. Their scream of pains and here you are telling me I am a god!" Kael's eyes squeezed in anger. "I know. There is nothing I can say that will justify what we did. But everything we did was for the country. It was for the good of mankind." Roland said again. "Why don't you start by giving me the names that I want. I need names of those who killed my men and those who think they are untouchable." Kael looked at him. "I will give that to you in due time but first, you need to work for me." Roland replied. The room went dead silent. Here was a man who was begging not too long ago but now he was trying to bargain again.

Kael stared at the old man kneeling before him. For a second, nobody breathed. Not Veronica. Not Carlos. Not even Dennis who stood beside the door with one hand on the handle, waiting for Kael’s command. The mighty Roland Verlic—the man who once controlled generals, politicians, scientists and entire military divisions—was now kneeling on the cold floor like a broken sinner begging for mercy. Veronica’s lips trembled. “Father…” she whispered weakly. But Roland ignored her. His eyes never left Kael’s face. “Please,” he said again. “Take my wealth. Take my empire. Take my life if you must. But not my daughter.” Kael’s expression remained unreadable. “You speak as though you care about innocent lives now.” Roland lowered his head. “I deserve that.” “You deserve worse.” Kael’s voice became colder. “Do you know what your men did to Sergeant Leon?” The room remained silent. Kael slowly stepped forward. “They peeled the skin off his back while he was still alive.” Veronica gasped.

Kael shut his eyes, his hand slowly placed on the dead man's chest. Veronica stared at him wondering if he indeed had the power to wake her dead father up. Her gaze slowly went to his face and then to his lips. It was breath taking. Kael was really handsome that Veronica didn't understand why Seraphina let go of him in the first place. For a brief moment, nothing happend. She looked at her dying father. Nothing. No body movements. His hands were not moving and his body laid still. His face was paled and whitish. Veronica looked at Kael again. His forehead was brooding and he was beginning to sweat. Veronica went back to her seat. She slowly crossed her legs and looked at the time. She knew it was not going to easy bringing the dead back to life but then she had all the time to wait. The door opened and Carlos walked in with Dennis right behind him. Joe sent one of his men to the Lochart's mansion. "Here is a letter from Mr. Joe. He would like to get married to Seraphina as soon as possible. Tomorrow will be a good day." Vivian looked at Seraphina. "I think we don't have any reason to say no. I can bet my daughter can't wait too," she replied. "Good." "I will relay your message, Mrs. Lochart," he said with a bow. He was on his way when Vivan stopped him. "What about, Mr. Dennis? I hope he is fine?" "Mr. Dennis?" Who are you talking about?" the messenger asked. Seraphina turned to look at her mother. Her face showed she was a bit anxious. She had been like that ever since Arthur broke the news about Kael being the godhand. Seraphina had googled and searched about who it was, but each time she tried to see who it was, there was no picture. "He is not too tall. He is skinny and..." Seraphina paused and stared at the man she was talking to. "I am sorry, ma'am. I think you misunderstand. Mr. Joe Verlic just sent me over. I
