8: His first award

"Just make sure you will find something that we can use against him, Marvin. If he has any criminal record or killed someone but he didn't pay for it, we can all use that to bring down his name on the rank list." Raven said. Marvin just reassured me that to him.

"What about Althea? I think Althea is protecting him." Marvin said.

Raven just groaned.

"Do not worry. I will take care of her. Althea is my ex-girlfriend, and I know she still has some feelings for me." he smirked.

"How sure are you?" Marvin asked.

Raven's deadly stare at him just made him to nod and leave his office.

"I will make her fall for me again, and make her let Liam lose the game." he smirked.

Days had passed, and Liam never thought about the game already, because Atlea told him to live without thinking about the game because this phase doesn't have any rules to follow.

"Good morning, sir." His secretary greeted him.

He chose to hire a guy to be his secretary, and Althea was the one who hired him to make sure he could be trusted.

"Good morning, Alejandro. Is there any meeting today??" he asked.

Alejandro checked his schedule.

"None, sir. You are clear today." he smiled. Liam just sighed in relief.

"Thank God, because I really need to rest for a bit." he groaned.

"Yes, sir, but Miss Althea called me a while ago. She wants me to tell you need to attend a party later on. She already sends you the details." Alejandro said.

Liam got curious and opened his phone. He received a text message from Althea regarding about the party.

"Thank you." he said and headed inside his office.

He quickly called Althea.

"Althea, what party is this?" he asked.

"That's a real-world business party, you need to be there because you are going to receive an award for being the most inspiring CEO." she said from the other line.

Liam was very surprised.

"Really? Why am I not informed about this?" he asked.

"Well, they told me they tried to contact you, but you were out of reach." she rolled her eyes.

Liam just laughed.

"Sorry, I overslept. Don't worry, I will attend the party, are you going too?" he asked her.

"No, I need to do things here in the office. Albert told me to stay here with him for a while." she said.

Liam was okay with it, because he thinks he can socialize with real businessmen right now. After work, he quickly headed to his mansion to change and head over to the party venue.

"Good evening, Mr. Flynn." they greeted him.

Liam was very shocked that there were many people who knew him even though he didn't know them.

"And now, proceeding with this award. I know people might not know him, but with his name, you will definitely know him. The most inspiring CEO award goes to no other than... Mr Liam Flynn." the host said.

Everyone applauded him. Liam stood up and waved at them as he headed on stage.

"So, Mr. Flynn, what can you tell us about your journey being the most inspiring CEO award knowing that you are just new to the business world? Any advice you can tell us?" the host asked as he handed the award. Liam couldn't help but smile.

"Thank you everyone for this award. I was also surprised I was going to receive this award, not knowing I was just new, but I was very happy yet very emotional. Well, it's a long journey for me. I thought I couldn't make it, but surprise! I am here." he said chuckling which made them to clap their hands.

On the other hand, Khaled and Megan were both surprised and shocked watching him from the crowds.

"I can't believe this! Is that really him?" Khaled asked.

"I am also surprised, Khaled." Megan said.

Megan just focused on watching her ex-lover on stage. She looked so impressed making Khaled to be jealous, because he never even received an award tonight.

"Megan, are you drooling on him?" he scoffed.

"What? I am not, okay? I just couldn't believe he was there." she groaned.

Khaled doesn't believe her.

"Wait, before you leave, is there anyone who was your inspiration to reach where you are right now?" the host asked him again.

Liam just chuckled a bit and his eyes saw Megan.

"Well, there was someone." he smiled.

"Wait, sounds like a woman, is she your girlfriend or?" the host asked.

Liam just chuckled while Megan swallowed hard.

"Well, as is the right term, sir. She was my girlfriend. She cheated on me, because I was just poor back then." he said.

Everyone gasped at what he said. Khaled and Megan both knew he was talking about Meg.

"Meg, I think he was talking about you." Khaled said.

"Shut up, Khaled." she told him. Megan felt humiliated.

"I achieved everything I have right now because of her and what she did to me. Someone helped me to reach where I am right now, and I am very thankful to her. I will be introducing her if she is here with me, but she is not." he smirked.

"Wow, after someone cheated on you, another one came and even helped you. That sounds very touching and so sweet. Well, thank you very much for those very inspiring words from you, Mr. Flynn." the host said.

Liam just thanked him too and left the stage carrying the first award he had received.

"Congratulations, Mr. Flynn. I can see you are going to have a brighter future after this."

"I can't wait to be like you."

"I want to be like you too." Those are the words he had heard from everyone.

Tonight, Liam became very famous and more discovered by the media. People are even taking pictures with him, and lots of women are asking for his number but he never gave it to them.
