Lucas stared at them for a while, still lost in shock. He attempted to come down from the bed and this time, his only option was to run away because this was beginning to turn into a nightmare gradually.

"Sir, I am sorry but I think that there is a mistake somewhere because this can not be true. Just look at me. I am a nobody and how can I possibly be your grandson? I wish it was true but there is no essence of deceiving myself." Lucas shot the words swiftly out from his mouth, but Lord Randolph's lips only broke into a smile.

"I know that this would be hard for you to take in all at once so I am going to be patient with you." He mumbled.

"Just calm down and you are going to realize what I am trying to put across to you." He assured Lucas and he sat back waiting for the explanation that was going to justify this calm.

"So your father, my son, was the heir of the company. The only heir but that was before his death." He began and his voice broke.

It seemed as though this son or Lucas' supposed father that he was talking about died about a week ago. Lucas had heard rumors of it but he did not believe anything about it.

But too bad, that dead man just couldn't be his father. This just has to be a joke or as he had very much thought, a mistake.

The man that was standing behind the Lord rushed over to him and stared at him with so much rising urgency.

"Do you need anything, my Lord? Are you okay?" He inquired, with so much rising urgency in his voice but the old man nodded his head.

"I am fine. Just recounting old memories got me down." He sniffed.

He began his story again, staring right into Lucas' eyes who was trying as much as he could to place two and two together to assure them that this was all a mistake and nothing other than that.

"So as I was saying, your father before his death was thought not to have a child but he revealed otherwise a few hours before his death."

"He had a son with his late wife but he had sent this child out to live as a peasant for twenty years so that this child of his would not be spoiled." He explained.

"Wait, sir. What you are trying to say now is the fact that I am this child that was sent away and therefore, I am your heir?" Lucas inquired, staring right into his eyes, waiting for the response that was going to be given to him.

"That is exactly what I am trying to say, grandson. You are my only legitimate son right now." He informed Lucas.

But then, Lucas was still finding it hard to believe it.

"No this can't be true. It just can't be." He thought and he could feel tears forming at the corner of his eyes.

The old man rolled the wheels towards him and held Lucas's hands tightly.

"Just think about it, son. The birthmark that we found behind you, that was the mark that your father left and he told us to search for it. And after searching for it on everyone, you are the only one with the matching mark." He muttered, but Lucas was still finding it difficult for him to believe.

"As I already said, I knew even before I began the search that this is going to be a really difficult decision for you and I am going to give you a chance to think it over." The old man informed him and just the same way that he was rolled into the room, he was rolled back out.

The days grew older quickly and Lucas was taken care of like the king of his life but he was still somehow scared until one morning.

He heard a cracking sound from the door and he turned around towards it to see who it was.

It was his acclaimed grandfather and he was with the doctor.

"Lucas dear." He said with a broad smile hanging on his face.

"I think that you are better now and it would be time for you to be taken home." The doctor noted.

Lucas was taken off gently from the bed by the servants and he was escorted out of the hospital to a white luxury car that was so breathtaking.

He had lived in the shadows of penury and had never in his life thought about a life that could be as pleasant as this.

He got into the same car with his grandfather and the driver drove them to an unknown destination.

"So after that day, I have not gotten a reply from you." His grandfather noted.

"Gulp." A large lump went down his spine like a stone going down a rocky tunnel.

Right now, he did not even know who or what to believe. A part of him told him that it was true while the other part of him was telling him something different.

"I am confused, grand." He wanted to say but there was a sudden halt.

"I don't know what to say sir. All this just happened all of a sudden and I don't even know what to think. Voice, ideas, thoughts, they are clashing in my head." Lucas explained while the old man nodded his head.

"I understand everything that you are going through right now but just give it time. Soon you are going to get used to all this and this new identity of yours." He noted and Lucas nodded his head.

"Meanwhile, I will be taking you somewhere to show you something really important." He was informed.

The driver drove gradually and they finally drew a stop after a long ride.

"I think that we are finally here." He noted.

A guard came over to them from the other end and helped the lord into his wheelchair while Lucas stepped out from his car.

Before him stood a beautiful Mansion and the sight of it made his Lips fall apart in amazement. He had never seen a building so beautiful in all his life.

He was so lost staring at it for a while that even when his name was called, he didn't even notice.

"Grandson." The old man called again, snapping him off from his thoughts.

"Sir," Lucas replied, walking over to him and he noticed that a smile was hanging on his face.

"Do you like it, Lucas?" He inquired.

"Like it. That would be an understatement. The place is so splendid. Is this where you leave sir? It's so beautiful." He exclaimed.

"No Lucas, this is your new home." He muttered and Lucas turned towards him confused

"I don't understand what you are talking about sir." Lucas replied really confused at what lord Randolph just spat out from his mouth.

"The house is yours now."

He noticed a guard walking towards him with a few documents with his name on them stating that he was now the owner of the Large mansion.

It still seemed like a dream to him as he turned over to his grandfather.

"I can't believe this. I.." He wanted to say but he was so overwhelmed that his lips broke into a stutter.

"And that is not all, the car over there is yours too." His grandfather noted pointing over to a car at the far end.

Lucas could not explain how he felt anymore. He had always been treated like some piece of thrash and all of a sudden, he got all of this in more like a blink of an eye.

He saw a guard walking over to him and he was handed over a Golden card with a slight bow.

"Here you go, young master." The guard noted and Lucas took the card from him, staring at it for a while.

"What's this for Grandfather?" He inquired.

"That's a card to an account with a million dollars for your day-to-day expenses." He noted and Lucas's lips dropped.

"One million dollars?" He repeated.

Before Lucas could make a movement out of the location, a gang of boys had gathered already, surrounding him. The old man couldn't just stop calling him a thief even after he had explained to him that the money belonged to him. However, at some point in time, Lucas couldn't blame them. He had not taken his time to think through his actions. He should have known that it was definitely going to be outrageous for an odd looking man like him to display such huge amount of money, even if he was in disguise. No one but him knew he was in disguise as a poor man after all.Soon enough, it looked to him like the old man had filled the gang in with the wrong details. That explained the disapproving and angry stares they gave to him. It was unfortunate that even as he tried to plead with them so he could tell them the truth from the misconception the old man had, they had began to throw blows at him, kicking and slapping him at the same time.Lucas considered their action to be inconsiderate, i

And neither of them was ready to move away from the spot they were standing at. Although he wasn't surprised at how they stared at him. As of that time, he was no longer the rich looking, handsome billionaire. He was now an ugly haggard poor man who was sniffing around the cliff, probably searching for what to eat. As usual, there was always a plan B.Surprisingly, the first step he took made them take another step back. Despite given the distance, he could still see the distrust that equally led to fear on their faces. Of course, he should have expected that. “I won't hurt you please. I just need to ask you a few questions.” He said, taking another step towards

The last action he did was button up the torn trousers he was putting on. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have a mirror where he could look up himself to see how he looked in his disguised form. He had made a mental note to himself before leaving the house that he had to look the poorest ever. After his several attempts to make the people around him believe that Emily was not dead had failed, Lucas took it upon himself to go search for her himself. He knew how hard he had paid people to go in search of her. However, it was heart breaking to say that there was no one who took it in their deep interest to find her because if they did, he was pretty sure that some positive results would have come out. He was presently at one of the abandoned and deserted warehouses he knew about. That was another perfect spot for a billionaire like him to suddenly transform himself into a disgusted poor man which people would want to stay away from. He had chosen the warehouse, far from the mansion so

“He used to be a student at the school.” The words of Mr. Shaw couldn't stop playing in her head. “I was able to go into the city. That was the only place I could think of finding him since no one here knew who he was. And I had to start from where we had found you. When there was nothing positive there, I moved further. Along the line, I was able to find a group of people, young boys especially who had an idea of him. According to the people I found, he used to be a student at one Belmont Academy.” The old man explained to Emily. At first, when he had come into the house with the good news of having found the man in the picture and knowing his location, Emily felt her heart gladden. Even if they were on a maybe part of finding him, she believed a clue was worth something. But as it stood, she had just one question… how would she find him in a big school just as the old man described? From the look of the young man in the picture, he didn't look like one to still be in school. So, wh

Ever since the date she found the picture, she took it upon herself to search every nook and cranny of the bag said to belong to her, with the intention of finding anything else that could tell her who she truly was. But then, he was forced to believe him, owning to the seriousness on his face. “I have a lot of questions concerning this if you're actually serious about it.” Blake finally opened up to say. There was a reign of silence as Lucas didn't respond to him. “How did you leave to find Emily? Where did you also go to find her, Lucas?” Blake asked, hoping he would still get a response from him because definitely, he was curious.“When you all were asleep, foolishly believing that she is actually gone for good.” Lucas answered, a sting of betrayal playing in his voice. “Lucas, you're endangering your life.” Blake said, concern glaring in his voice.“I don't care if I had to do that. All I want is to find my woman.” Lucas said forcefully, turning to look back at Blake.“Let me remind you that this supposed woman is dead.” Blake said. “Her body was not found. That doesn't mean that she
