The silence in the room was as thick as the tension, swirling around us like smoke refusing to disperse. Felix stood frozen, his eyes darting back and forth as he processed what Deacon had said. Vanessa shifted uneasily in her seat, her eyes narrowing on Felix. The air felt like it could explode with the wrong sentence.

“Mr. Arnold owes us,” Felix finally said, breaking the silence. “He was scared, but not a coward. There’s a difference. And now that Thomas is gone, I believe he wants redemption.”

Deacon scoffed, leaning back in his chair. “Redemption doesn’t bring my son back.”

“But it can help avenge him,” I said quickly, cutting through the bitterness. “Look, we all want the same thing—justice for Thomas, a plan to bring down Zack and Frank, and clarity on what the hell this system wants from me.”

Vanessa stood and walked over to me. “Then start with Cipher. You think he knows about the Inner Circle? Find him. We’ll take care of the rest on this side.”

Certainly! Here’s the continuation of your story, picking up right after “Welcome to war,” I said. And the room fell silent. The silence was thick. Not out of fear—but anticipation.Tony leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers nervously. Esther adjusted her glasses and gave a curt nod to Marcus. Riyaz cracked his knuckles and looked toward the surveillance rig he was setting up. The tension wasn’t from doubt—it was the calm before the storm.Felix clapped his hands. “Alright, no more staring contests. We need codenames. No more real names during ops. If anyone gets caught or compromised, we don’t want connections leading back here.”“Smart,” I agreed, motioning to the whiteboard. “Put them up.”Felix handed out markers. Everyone looked at each other, a flicker of amusement crossing their faces in the midst of all the seriousness. Even war needed moments of levity.“I’m taking ‘Ghost,’” Riyaz said, scribbling it across the top in blue.“Original,” Tony muttered, then added, “I’ll

I looked at my account balance and I smiled. I was now having enough to take down Frank and his father but first, I needed to gather my own squad and a few strong and able fighting students. I need skills too too. I need to find more hackers like Felix. "Do you think we can get more hands on deck? I need someone with top notch skills like you." I looked at Felix " Are you saying i am not enough for you?" Felix asked. " Definitely not, Felix. But we more students who are ready to fight for our course. Do you think we can pull this staunt on our own?" Felix sighed and looked at me. " You are right. We need more hands on deck if things are going to get easier. I am going to try and recruit more tech students inside the university grounds. And you also need more men who can shield you from Frank and his minions." " I might know just where to find them. Why don't we do the scouting and we meet back at home to see what we have gathered so far. Get me three good tech students who are g

My gaze was fixed on the hellish message in front of me. My heart quickened, my pulse rose as the mission appeared right in front of me. " What is it saying?" Deacon asked staring at my face. [ System message ; Get stronger. Train harder for the next mission to come.] [ System task ; Body build ] [ System reward ; $23,000 ] I sighed, calling down to the sofa right behind me. " Are you alright?" Vanessa looked at me " I am fine. But I need you and father to be ready for what might be coming. The system is asking me to get stronger. Which means only one thing." I looked at their faces. " It is trying to prepare me for whatever is coming next." " We are going to make sure we have your back. You cannot do this on your own, Ethan. We know this was all your plan initially but we won't let you take on it alone. We need to fight this as a family and trust me. We are going to win and conquer the system itself." Deacon promised. I look dat their faces and I felt joyous. They we

I looked at my parents and didn't even know where to begin from. I remembered how Felix had behaved when I told him about the mysterious system. The thought of how to convince them was the only thought I had in my mind. They need to know, I know things were going to get more uglier from now on and it was going to get worse if I didn't tell them. The tension in the room hung like a thick fog, unmoving and heavy. I stood before Deacon and Vanessa, my palms damp with sweat and my heart thumping wildly against my ribs. They looked at me, not with fear or suspicion—but expectation. For the first time since I’d met them, I realized they had been waiting for this. For someone like me.“I’m not like other people,” I began, unsure how to start but knowing I had to say everything. “I’ve been chosen by something I don’t fully understand. A system. One that assigns me missions… dangerous ones… in return for power, information, and money.”" What are you talking about son?" Vanessa’s brows furro

I raised my arm and showed the glowing tattoo to Felix. 'What is this?" he asks, staring at my face. "This is how I know what is going to happen to me next. This is how I get my missions." Felix looked at me and back at the engraved tattoo on my skin. "Are you saying this is how you have been getting the mojo?" he asked, staring at me with disbelief. I nodded. "I can see what is going to happen in a few days time, or even it can come to me as a mission." I said, and Felix looked at me. "Are you kidding me right now? We have a lot to do, and joking around is the last thing we need right now." Felix said with a serious look on his face. "Do you think I am kidding? I am telling you this because I need you to be on the lookout for me in case something happens to me." Felix looked at me and nodded. " You mean in case Frank or Zack kidnaps you." "That is not exactly what I mean. There are people like me, Felix. People who are not happy the system chose me, and it is only a matter of

I stared at the message as it hovered before me like a phantom only I could see. The glowing red letters flashed faintly:[ SYSTEM TASK: SAVE MR ARNOLD ]The words burned into my mind, sending a chill down my spine. The last time I got a message like this, six men ended up unconscious — or worse."What is it again?" Felix asked, narrowing his eyes at my expression.I didn’t respond immediately. The holographic text dissolved slowly, and I wiped my hands on my jeans, trying to shake off the unease crawling up my back.“Something’s wrong,” I muttered, turning to the window. Outside, the sun was setting, casting a reddish hue over the campus like a warning light. “Frank’s going to make his move tonight.”"On Mr Arnold?" Felix asked sharply."Yes." I replied sharply my gaze never leaving the outside of the university ground. Felix scoffed. "Damn it, Ethan.. How do we know this is true?"“Because,” I said coldly, locking eyes with him, “every time i get that vibes, something happens. And

"What do you mean you failed?" Frank yelled in anger. He gave the leader a slap that sent him sprawling to the floor. "You had just a simple task. A simple mission, and here you are telling me rubbish!""We didn't see him coming. We didn't know he was going to be there." The ringleader said again."Is that an excuse for your incapability? Are you telling me a single man bested all of you?" Frank shouted again."He had these glowing arms.""He was super fast.""He is not ordinary."All the men kept saying every version of the man they had fought. "Silence!" Frank shouted, and they all kept quiet. "You mean to tell me one person did all of this?" he asked, staring back at their faces."I am sorry to break it to you, Mr Frank, but whatever you heard from us is right. He did all of these things and maybe even more." The man said, bowing his head to the ground.Frank's face contorted into some viciousness. He said nothing but simply walked over to his baton and grabbed it.The baton descen

The cold night air bit at my skin as I approached Mr. Arnold’s house. The glow from the streetlamps cast elongated shadows across the pavement, but it was the glow beneath my hoodie that gave me strength. My tattoos throbbed faintly with power, alive, responding to the danger ahead. I could feel it—this wasn’t going to be a simple scare tactic. Whoever Frank had sent wasn’t here just to send a message.I crept through the hedge bordering the front lawn, my senses heightened. I could hear muffled voices inside, low and threatening. A sharp crash followed—a chair being overturned, maybe. Mr. Arnold’s voice rose briefly in protest, then was silenced with a grunt. My jaw tightened. From my position beside the front porch, I could make out three silhouettes moving through the living room, one of them significantly bulkier than the others. A fourth figure lay crumpled on the floor—Mr. Arnold, I assumed.I reached into my back pocket and pulled out the small blade I kept for situations like
