chapter twenty five
Kael slowly hid behind Harond, whose gaze was locked on Dareth for a fight. The room was in a frenzy mode until King Almond raised his hands up."What have we all decided to do with the boy?" He asked after they were all silent. The most powerful mage in the room stood up. Everyone's gaze was locked on her. "We all know what he is capable of. But I want to believe I have managed to do the right thing, and for now, Kael is not a threat to anyone. But he killed Rand nonetheless."Another swordmaster stood up, looking at Dareth. "I believe this is a fight between Dareth and Kael. We were there when Dareth drew his sword at him. The boy only defended himself." Master Nikoklause said, looking at Dareth, who was fuming with anger."Is there something we didn't know about the death of the former, Swordmaster?" one of the elders asked again. The throne room was silent, with many of them looking at Dareth and back at the king for an explanation. "What are you asking of me? That I killed my bro
chapter twenty three
The silence in the throne room was suffocating.Every elder, every mage, and every knight stared at Master Harond with expressions ranging from disbelief to fury. The king’s eyes widened at the declaration, his hand tightening on the gold-wrought armrest of his throne. Elira gasped audibly, while Dareth—face red and trembling—looked as if he’d just been slapped."You... what did you say?" The king finally spoke, his voice low but sharp enough to slice through the tension."I said I am adopting Kael as my son," Harond repeated firmly, stepping forward so that he stood between Kael and the throne. "He has no family. He needs guidance, not chains. I will take responsibility for him.""You don’t have the authority to make that decision unilaterally!" Dareth barked, his voice laced with fury. "He is mine! A danger to us all! You know what he is capable of, Harond!"Kael’s eyes flicked between them, confusion storming inside him. Relic? Blood? Danger? The words danced like ghosts around his

"Who is going to have me killed? I want to go back home. I want to go back to my father because it is clear that I am not wanted here." Kael said, looking at Master Harond. "I am sorry, Kid, but you don't have any family. I am your only family." Master Harond said, looking at his face. "Are you saying I am an orphan? Do you actually expect me to believe that?" Kael said with tears almost spilling from his face. "I am going to be your father from now on, and I am going to take care of you. All you need to do is ask." Kael staggered backward. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to feel. One minute he was inside a tube, and the next he was hearing the most shocking news of his life. "Can you be truthful with me for once, Master Harond? Are you hiding anything from me?" Kael asked. There was a brief moment of silence. "This is for your own good, Kael. You were in pain before all of this. You wanted blood, and you don't mind drenching everyone you loved in it. You took a life. Your cous
Chapter twenty one
(After two weeks) Kael wakes up in an icy tube. He could feel his body freezing, and when he looked through the tube, he saw many others who were imprisoned just like him. "Let me out of here!" Kael shouted, hitting the tube until it cracked. He landed on the floor gasping for air. "Where the hell am I?" He said slowly, looking at himself. One of the guards heard a loud crack and rushed into the cold room. He saw that Kael was freed and immediately retraced his steps back. "I am not here to hurt you. But can you please go back to being asleep? The king is going to kill me if he knows that you are finally awake." Kael looked at the guard and didn't know what to say. "I am not going to hurt you, but you need to tell me why I am here. Why was I imprisoned, and how long have I been like this?" The guard looked at him again and didn't understand what was going on. Not many of them were there when Kae fought the king's champion and killed him. "You have been gone for a week or

Kael’s blade dripped crimson onto the marble floor, the body of the king’s champion slumped in a broken heap behind him. The corridor, once regal, now smelled of scorched stone, sweat, and blood. Silence echoed through the shattered hall as Kael turned his burning gaze on King Almond. “I gave you everything!” the king roared, but the tremble in his voice betrayed his fear. “You were supposed to be my weapon, my sword against the rising chaos—not the storm itself!" “You only helped me because you felt pity for me,” Kael said coldly. “And now, I’m breaking every one.” With a roar, Kael surged forward, Hakana spiraling around him like a dark cyclone. The air bent, and stone cracked beneath his feet. King Almond raised a warding hand, but he wasn’t fast enough. Kael’s sword slashed through the air, aimed for the king’s throat— A sudden pulse of blue light exploded in the hall. Kael’s body locked mid-motion, suspended in the air as though invisible hands clutched him. He snarled,

Kael’s breath steamed in the hallaway as he squared his shoulders, facing Master Harond. The old mage’s eyes, once filled with the gentleness of a teacher, now glimmered with steel beneath his hood. “I don’t want to fight you,” Harond said quietly. “But I will if I must.” Kael clenched his fists, power pulsing beneath his skin like a second heartbeat. “You always told me the Hakana chooses its bearer. So why deny me now?” “Because the Hakana didn’t just choose you,” Harond replied, stepping forward, “it consumed you. I trained you and even shield you before Dareth could get to you. And now what? You want to throw it all away for what?" Kael’s voice rose. “No. You don’t get to twist this! I didn’t ask for this. Dareth murdered my father and no one lifted a finger. Now I take one step toward justice and suddenly I’m the threat?” “You’re not seeking justice,” Harond growled. “You’re dragging the whole realm toward ruin for vengeance.” Kael’s gaze flicked toward the guards sti

The room darkened as the mages stepped closer to Kael, their chanting intensifying with each syllable. Shadows curled along the stone walls, dancing like whispering serpents. Kael pulled at his chains, his heart pounding against his ribs, the metallic clank echoing in the chamber. Tiffany had disappeared beyond the heavy door, and now, only the faceless hooded mages remained.“I said it’s time,” Elira repeated, her voice echoing as if spoken by a hundred tongues at once.“What are you going to do to me?” Kael spat, his voice steady despite the uncertainty gripping his gut. " Wait! The killed my father. They have to pay. Please, don't do this to me!" Kael shouted but there was no one to save him. One of the mages raised a hand, and Kael’s body went rigid. Invisible tendrils of energy coiled around him, silencing his limbs. Another mage began drawing an ancient sigil mid-air—each stroke burning gold for a moment before fading to darkness. Kael’s eyes widened as he recognized the anci

Kael's eyes snapped wide open to see that he was chained to the bed he said we laid on. He felt his vision blurry and his stomach hurt. Tiffany walk e in not quite long and she shouted, hugging him where he laid down. " What happened? Why am I chained?" Kael asked not sure about what was going on. " Are you seriously asking me that?" Tiffany asked with disbelief in her eyes. " Do you honestly think I would be asking you that if I know what is going on?" Kael asked Tiffany looked into his eyes and saw they were not glowing anymore. They were back to normal. To the boy he recognised. " You don't remember anything?" Tiffany asked again. " Whatup with all this questions? Why do I need to be chained. Am uncomfortable. Can you unlock me right now?" Kael asked " I am sorry but I can't do that. What if you go berserk again? what if you try to hurt me?" Tiffany asked staring at his face. " Why would I try to hurt you? You haven't done anything wrong have you? Bedsides, you are t

The guards hesitated. Steel-clad warriors, some of the kingdom’s finest, looked to one another for silent permission. But none moved. Not a single step. They felt it too. The Hakana that surged through Kael wasn’t just power—it was will. Ancient, commanding, primal. It wasn’t just that he’d defeated Rand. Or broken Dareth. It was that he now stood like a god reborn—balanced between wrath and purpose, forged by betrayal, and no longer bound by mortal limits. Kael turned his silver-black gaze to the guards. “Come,” he invited, voice like iron wrapped in velvet. “Try and see what side of history you want to fall on.” Still, they didn’t move. Tiffany broke from Harond’s grasp then, unable to stay back any longer. Her steps were cautious, her eyes brimming with disbelief and awe. “Kael…” she said softly, voice trembling. “What are you becoming?” Kael turned his gaze to her, and for a heartbeat, the storm around him seemed to still. He wasn’t the boy she’d once trained beside, nor
