The police were with the divisional police officer (DPO) of Mushin. They were to give their reports concerning the recent rumoured allegation against Herbert Halloway. Sergeant Clinton one of the most intelligent police officers in Mushin, he was recently transferred to Mushin because of Herbert Halloway and they had been doing everything in their power to ensure that Herbert Halloway was gotten red-handed.

Amidst their discussion detective, Sam walked in. He went to take his breakfast when he was done interrogating Herbert Halloway and later came to join Clinton and the DPO in the office. Detective Sam had a cordial relationship with Clinton and they were transferred to Mushin together. Mushin was one of the most dangerous cities in Lagos and sometimes referred to as the capital city of crimes in the Lagos State.

Some of their former co-workers did refer to Sam and Clinton as twins due to the collaborative work they did execute and never failed when given one. Hence, when Herbert Halloway’s excesses were getting out of hand, their hands and brain were needed by the Nigerian government and they had been working tirelessly on coming up with a sustainable solution.

“Welcome, Detective Sam. I asked of you earlier from Sergeant Clinton and he told me that you went to take your breakfast,” DPO said.

“Yes. That man Herbert Halloway or what’s his name? He gave me a tough time. I have never interrogated such a ferocious talker before. He was so arrogant and inundated with hubris.”

Sergeant Clinton interrupted.

“Sincerely. I have to summon you immediately after three questions. He is very clumsy and kept insisting that if there is any evidence, that should be tendered instead of allegations.”

“I think he was right anyway. We have to get an evidence until then, we can only keep questioning him,” Detective Sam said.

The DPO paid a good attention to their contribution so far and wasn’t surprised by their statement because he had numbers of time interrogated Herbert Halloway himself when he was invited to the police custody. Herbert Halloway due to his political affiliation, that had also contributed to his impunity and difficulty to get hold of him. His godfathers in politics hadn’t been gotten.

“So Sergeant Clinton and Detective Sam. I certain you are very well aware that that’s the reason you were transferred here. I am glad you’ve had a taste of what we’ve been going through since we’ve been on the case of this man. There are three senior police officers whose life have gone with this case and two others have resigned when they were given the responsibility to continue.”

Clinton and Sam gazed at each other in awe. They were never aware of what the DPO was telling them. Their unusual reaction left the DPO in an inquisitive disposition, he hoped they wouldn’t followed the suit of the last two police officers who resigned.

“Well. That’s a good challenge. The governor specifically invited the two of us when our names were submitted to the commissioner of Police to take this. So that shouldn’t be a problem,” detective Sam said.

Although Sergeant Clinton was already in a fright disposition but Detective Sam statement poured an ice on it and he regained his confidence. They were one of the most super police on the Island which was more prominent for criminal activities. Sergeant Clinton seemed to have come up with a perfect solution after having a random thought.

“I think we have a solution,” Sergeant Clinton said.

The DPO faced him, “ok. What’s it?”

“Herbert Halloway like the presence of women, right?” He asked.

“Oh. That? He is very prominent for that. He never missed Oriental Hotel any weekend. He is always there with his boys and we’ve monitored his activities at the hotel yet we haven’t come up with a sustainable and solid evidence against him.”

Detective Sam already knew where Clinton was trying to bring up. They had worked very well and it was one of the formulae adopted to apprehend a politician red handed when their service was borrowed by the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

“We can use one of the female Supernumerary police officers to penetrate him,” Sergeant Clinton said.

The DPO smiled. He didn’t want to ridicule his suggestion hence, he embodied the the laughter that wanted to burst out of his mouth.

“I don’t think that can work. We’ve had our men penetrate his castle even had spies there, yet they were caught and murdered immediately. The most intriguing is the fact that, all this people are executed without any traces. He had some of the best lawyers from all over the world, lawsuits were easily swept under the carpet,” DPO said.

Detective Sam reasoned with what Sergeant Clinton said but with the contribution of the DPO, he had come up with a better option.

“I think Clinton had a great idea there. We can make use of five hot female Supernumenary police. Women are the weak link of any ferocious man. Samson was the most powerful man in the Bible, yet he was brought down by a sexy woman, Delilah. I think I will buy Sergeant Clinton’s idea.”

The DPO exhaled. He didn’t see the need to go against them and the fact that they had both agreed to go with it. Although, he had not approved it wholly in his psyche and he hoped he was proven wrong.

Detective Sam brought out his button Nokia phone and scrolling through his contacts. He had other phones but the Nokia phone was where his major contacts were and usually used for his profession for easy mobility and swiftness.

“We will have to schedule a meeting with the commissioner of police. It has to be a clandestine one so there will not be any rumour or traces of whatever. I will discuss the plan with him and know the perfect Supernumenary police that would be suitable for this mission.”

The DPO nodded. They exchanged hand shakes and they left his office.
