MR. RAFAEL (?)

"What's wrong with your face? Did my father hit you again?"

Adelle immediately asked the question when she saw her husband's face covered in bruises and blood.

After the turmoil that occurred at his in-laws' house, Michael decided to immediately return home.

"No. On my way back, some criminals tried to rob me, but since they knew I had no money, they just beat me up."

Michael lied in response to Adelle's question. He didn't want to make Adelle sad if she knew he was being mistreated by Alexander and Aldebaran.

However, Adelle couldn't be fooled. She immediately understood that her husband had been hurt by her family.

"I'm sorry I couldn't go with you to my parents' house earlier. They must have treated you very badly, didn't they?"

Hearing that, Michael smiled and shook his head.

"It's not a big deal. Besides, I'm used to receiving all the bad treatment, so you don't have to worry, Adelle."

Adelle felt sorry for Michael. Their relationship was not approved by her parents, and they always received bad treatment from them.

"What gift did Alexa and Alexander give you, Michael?"

Adelle asked the question to change the subject.

"Alexa and Alexander gave a car as a gift, Adelle. Dad and mom refused our cake," Michael immediately answered Adelle's question, this time with complete honesty, knowing that his wife was very difficult to deceive.

Adelle looked at the totebag in Michael's hand, then took it. She saw the cake she had made that was no longer in shape, stored inside.

"It's okay, I'll eat this bread. Let's go inside and eat it together."

After that, Michael took Adelle's hand and led her into the house. He didn't want to see sadness on the face of the woman he loved so much.

A few days later...

"Michael, the landlord is asking for this month's rent. If we don't give him the money today, he will evict us," Adelle complained to Michael as she came into the room.

Hearing Adelle's voice, Michael immediately got up from his lying position.

"Isn't the rental bill due next week, Adelle?"

Adelle shook her head, her face filled with panic.

"Yes, but they're asking for it today. If we can't pay it now, we have to leave today, Michael. And I don't have a single penny."

Michael could be heard sighing softly. Then, he was seen walking towards the wooden cabinet nearby, whose door looked damaged. He tried to search for money inside the cabinet, amidst the clothes and his old wallet.

"I don't have any money either. My savings have been used to buy medicine for you, when you were sick yesterday, Adelle."

Now, Michael and Adelle were in a quite complicated situation. They had to pay the rent for the house they lived in, but they didn't have any money at the moment.

"Michael, what if you ask for my mother's help? I know Dad doesn't like us, but maybe he will help us, after knowing our current situation."

Suddenly, Adelle suggested the solution to her husband, Michael. Because they can only ask for help from Aldebaran and Kania to get some money.

Michael nodded his head after hearing his wife's suggestion.

"Okay, I will come to your family's house and ask for your mother's help."

The journey to Aldebaran's family home took 30 minutes. It was quite long because Michael went there by walking. Of course, because he didn't have any money to pay for a taxi.

"What are you doing here?"

Before Michael even entered the gate, Kania suddenly came out of the house and blocked him for entering.

"Adelle and I need your help, Mom."

Michael knew that his mother-in-law might not give him any assistance. However, he still hoped that Kania had a good heart and would be moved to help him.

"Do you dare to come here again, after the commotion you caused at anniversary wedding party yesterday? Have you forgotten about that, poor son-in-law?"

Kania immediately cornered Michael, bringing up the incident at the party a few days ago.

"I know, Mom, but I beg you, please help me this time only."

Due to this complicated situation, Michael chose to plead with his mother-in-law. Money was more important than his pride, he thought now.

"What do you want me to help you with?"

Kania lowered her voice and immediately asked about the purpose of her first son-in-law's visit.

"Adelle and I need money to pay for our rented house. We don't have any money now. Can you give us a little money to pay for it?"

After hearing Michael's request, Kania burst out laughing.

"You're asking for money from me? Hey, do you think I'll help you, Michael?"

Kania shook her head and then continued speaking.

"Of course not. I won't help you, even if you kneel before me," said Kania.

Michael placed both hands on his chest and begged Kania for help.

"I beg you, Mom. Adelle and I really need your help now. If we don't get the money today, we'll be evicted from our rented house."

However, Kania appeared indifferent to the situation of her first daughter's family.

"You made a big mistake by marrying Adelle. I had already found the best potential husband for her, but she chose a poor man like you. And now, I won't help you," she said, interrupting him.

"I'm begging you, Mrs. Kania. I need the money as soon as possible."

Kania shook her head and approached Michael, pushing him backwards.

"Get out of here, poor son-in-law! I've already told you, I won't help you. Leave now, because I don't want my house to be dirtied by your presence!"

Michael was forcibly ejected from the house by his mother-in-law.

Since Kania refused to help him, Michael decided to leave her house.

"Adelle's parents won't give us any money. If that's the case, we won't get any money."

Now, Michael was walking on the deserted sidewalk, thinking of ways to get some money.

"Mr. Rafael!"

A metallic black car pulled up beside Michael, and the driver called out to him, "Mr. Rafael, what are you doing here?"
