Marcus dropped to the sofa chair in front of him; he looked a bit worn out and tired from all the paparazzi that had been going on with Jason and him trying to be HR good friends.

If left to Marcus, he would have loved to overlook what has been done to him and leave a happy life.

His phone chimed; Marcus picked it up and saw an envelope.

"Work done, boss."

Marcus nodded and dropped the phone back to the table in front of him. He got up and strolled towards the wine shelf in front of him. He grabbed a bottle of whisky and sat down to drink. His mind went back to Jason and how he had reacted when they left the Carter mansion.

"Was he hiding something?" He said slowly as the hot flavour of the whisky burnt his tongue.

Marcus shrugged a little and sighed. After the death of his father, Marcus had done nothing but abstain himself from the company.

But since they were now done with education, it was time he resume his work as the CEO of the company his father left behind for hi

"What are you really trying to tell me, Mr. Henry?" Marcus asked, staring at Henry. "Your father was my friend, and we have been in business for a long time now." "In business?" Marcus looked at Henry's face and then stared back at Death, who had been keeping mute. "Is he supposed to scare me?" Marcus asked quickly before Henry could talk. "Scare you?" Henry let out a small chuckle."Why would I want to scare you? You haven't done anything, have you?" Henry looked at him. "So why do you have to bring him here if all you are here to do is talk?" Marcus looked at him. "Marcus, I am not here to scare you. I am here to talk business with you." Henry said, crossing his legs. "What are you proposing?" Marcus looked at Henry, who was finding talking to him amusing. "As you know, Jason and I are at loggerheads." "You killed his parents!" Marcus shouted at him. "You mean we killed his parents." Henry replied with anger. He brought out a handkerchief and cleaned his face. "Do you ever

"What about our visitor? Are you making him comfortable?" Jason looked at Zeek. "Sniper?" He said immediately looking back. "Who do you think I was talking about?" Jason replied. "Yeah, he is fine. I guess Henry stopped bothering about him. He is as good as dead if he ever catches him." "He wanted to tell me something." Jason looked at Zeek. "I believe so." Zeek replied, walking towards the exit. He stopped and looked back. "And have you decided who it is going to be?" "Zeek, I am not bothered about that right now. Marcus poses a threat to everything I am trying to fight against and build. I need to know if I can trust him. For now, Irene and Alessia are not really what I need to concentrate on. Get me a sniper." Zeek nodded and walked away. Jason quickly took his phone and messaged Alessai asking if she got home. In the meanwhile, he brought out an old school picture that he and Marcus took. Jason looked at it and wondered if he should be concerned about his only o

"What is it going to be?" Henry Carter asked "I will do it. What do you want me to do?" Marcus asked. "First, I want you to meet up with Ethan Mathew. You both need to join hands in taking Jason down. We go all out from now on. It is us against him; we can take him." Henry's voice showed he was happy. "Is that all?" Marcus asked again. " No, your father's company. We can use that to spoil Jason's reputation. I heard he managed to thwart Ethan's plan. The boy is not very smart, or should I say Jason is way above his league?"I will see what I can do." Marcus said and cut off the line without hesitation. "God, what do I do?" Marcus said, slamming his hand against the table. He stared at the envelope his father left behind. It was incriminating, and there was no way he could understand what was written in them. It was glaring that his father was a culprit, and he did it without being forced to. Marcus stood up from the chair he sat on, his face glued to the picture of his fath

Jason looked at Marcus and back at the entrance with Alessia and Irene standing at the front door. "This is about to get really awkward." Jason muttered under his breath as the barman brought his whisky and Marcus a drink. "Jason." Alessia sprinted towards him, making Irene give a funny face that made Marcus almost laugh. "Make sure she doesn't sit near me." Jason said immediately, looking at Marcus, who was supposed to be his friend. But Marcus got distracted when a message entered his phone from Henry Carter. Jason noticed the name flashed across the screen of the phone, but Marcus was fast enough to pick it up. "I need to receive this," he said, walking out of the barroom. Jason's countenance changed; he knew Marcus was hiding something, and he wasn't sure if it was right for him to ask who he was talking to. Alessia walked closer to him and put her arms around his neck. "You can't do that here, Alessia. This is a bar. I don't want any unnecessary attraction." Jason said, remov

Jason turned and saw Fiona seated with a bottle of soda right in front of her. "What the hell are you doing?" Jason asked with his gaze furrowed. "Are you stalking me now?" "Stalking you? Of course not, darling. I just happen to be here to listen to your two little girls ranting." Fiona said with a smile on her face. Irene looked at her with a bit of an angry face. "So what do you have to say?" Marcus looked at her. "Oh Marcus, you are definitely going to dance to the tune when the time comes, but for now enjoy your little sit on the side of the fence. As for you two, Jason was my first kiss." Fiona said, shocked, as she grabbed her handbag and walked out of the bar. They all looked stunned, with Alessia looking at Jason. Irene was expecting him to say something to defend himself, but he said nothing. They all wondered how Fiona would claim she kissed him when they were family. Jason was initially scared; the thought of Fiona telling them they had sex was the most scary part, but

Immediately after Marcus left the bar lounge, he made a call. "I'm on my way. Can you tell me where to meet?" Ethan's voice boomed with joy, "Finally. We can now agree on something." "Just give me your location and don't even think of wasting my time." Marcus said with frustration. Ethan sent him his location while Marcus drove to meet him. His mind was not settled, wondering why his father could do something as grave as taking a man's life. All of this was a mystery to him, and he was just finding out about his father's skeleton. The thought of still telling Jason gnawed at him, but then he knew Jason was all out for blood. As he parked his car right in front of Ethan's mansion, Marcus sighed slowly, rubbing his temple before he walked towards the entrance. A playful smile appeared on Irene's lips. "Thought you might never ask."She rose from the couch slowly, walking toward the glass window that overlooked the dim courtyard below. Her silhouette stood framed by the pale moonlight seeping through the curtains. “Jason Walker is a ghost now, but even ghosts have weaknesses. And I know every single one of his.”Niko watched her, his jaw tight. He didn’t trust her, not entirely—but something about her voice, the confidence in it, made him listen.“You said he’s going to come for the wedding,” he muttered. “What if he doesn’t?”“Oh, he will,” Irene said without turning around. “Aleesia may have stolen him, but he’s still a man ruled by guilt, by a need for closure. He will come. And when he does, we strike—not just to capture him, but to break him. He doesn't know what you are and I bet he has not seen you up close. Jason is going to come to get a visual of that and when he does, we take him down." Niko frowned. " You mean kill him?" " What

Clark was not only recuperating but was also planning the biggest event of the year. "We need to have him come to us. Aleesia is going to come for her sister's wedding, so Jason is definitely going to come." Sophia looked at him. "Jason wanted to have his wedding without letting any of us know about it. Do you think he is going to show up? And besides, we don't even know if he is alive or not. It has been how many months now?" Clark arched his eyebrows and looked at Irene, who was seated with her legs crossed. "You said you know Jason very well, if I am correct." "Very well. What do you want me to do?" Irene asked. "Nothing. Do nothing but just make sure Jason comes to the wedding. Use any trick if you must, but I would like to have him down at the wedding." Clark looked at her. "And how do you suppose she does that?" Nikoklause said finally after being silent for a long time. "Remind me why you are here again?" Clark raised an eyebrow. "I am here because we are talking a

Jason stared at the man—Skull. His face was gaunt, carved with battle scars and time-worn lines, but his eyes… his eyes burned with a ferocity Jason had only seen in war-hardened soldiers. He didn’t look like a savior, but neither did he look like a liar.Jason reached out, clasping Skull’s hand. “Then teach me. Whatever it takes, I’ll do it.”Skull nodded. “Good. Because once we start, there’s no turning back.”Alessia stood, her fists clenched at her side. “Wait. I don’t trust this. Jason, listen to me, you don’t even know what this man’s been through, what he’s capable of. You can’t just—”“I don’t have a choice,” Jason interrupted. “If Clark gets his hands on me, on my blood, it’s over. Not just for me—for all of us.”“Exactly,” Skull said, voice sharp. “Clark doesn’t want to kill you, not yet. He wants to consume you—to use your blood to strengthen himself..”The room was more quiet now. Everyone was ready to listen to whatever Skull had to say. He was the man who knows everythi

"Well, we busted our ass to save yours, Mr Walker, and if you think we are unworthy, then I and my brothers are going to leave." One of the men who Jason presumed to be the leader said, looking at Jason. "Did you hear that? Didn't you say these men were ready to die for my cause?" Jason snapped. "Yes, but you don't talk down at them. These are men who have kept the legacy of the Walkers for a very long time. I think they deserve some respect." Raven looked at Jason. "Fine. I think we got off on the wrong foot. I am sorry. My name is Jason…" Jason was about to finish his words when the leader stopped him. "We know who and what you are, Mr Jason Carter, or should
