It was a man named Daniel. He once worked for her as an intern. He used to fetch her coffee, and organize meetings, and perform other menial tasks for her.

She used to treat him like thrash and would insult him for any small mistake he made. Now he was at the supervisors’ table looking confident. A wide grin spread across his face as he watched her struggle.

William had purposely hired him as a supervisor because he wanted to humiliate Scarlett.

He folded his arms. “Wow. I never imagined you would be the one getting my lunch.”

Scarlett gritted her teeth. “Don’t read much into it. I'm just helping out.”

Daniel stood and took his lunch from one of the trays she was balancing. “I won’t, but this is definitely going in my journal.”

By the time the day was over, Scarlett was exhausted and hoped that the second day would go easier.
