Chapter 1
William received a hard slap across his face.
“Why are my clothes not ironed?” Damon barked angrily. “You never asked me to iron your clothes, Master Damon.” William explained trying to hide the pain he felt from the slap. “What? are you calling me a liar?” Damon angrily slammed his fist against his face. The punch sent William to the floor, blood dripping from his cut lip. Damon’s arms were huge and well built. He was a professional boxer and the best in Crenshaw city, so getting punched by him felt like being hit with a hard brick. Damon had forgotten to tell William to iron his clothes, but he was going to punish him regardless. William quickly went to his knees. “I’m sorry Master Damon. Forgive my forgetfulness.” Damon wasn’t having his apology and kicked him across the face inflicting another injury. “You’re more useless than a pig. I always feel bad for my sister who had to marry a piece of shit like you.” William quickly crawled back to his feet. “I will iron clothes right away. Please forgive me, Master Damon.” Damon smiled, he liked to see William cower at his feet. It made him feel powerful. “Good” he spat as he walked away. Damon squeezed his knuckles as he remained on the floor. He was humiliated daily but there was nothing he could do about it. Not far off, Damon’s sister Sophia and her friend Jade giggled at William’s expense. “How did you people find such an obedient dog?” Jade mocked him. “He has to be obedient. If not, he knows he’ll be dealt with like the dog he is. He would never dare go against my brother.” Sophia replied. Still clenching his fists, William struggled to stand up and went straight to ironing Damon’s clothes. He had barely started ironing the clothes when his mother-in law showed up. “What are you doing here? Where is my lunch?” Madam Fiona barked angrily. Damon bowed his head. “I’m sorry Madam Fiona. I had to quickly iron Master Damon’s clothes. I will prepare it soon.” Fiona picked up the iron and pressed it on William’s hand. The hotness of the iron caused him to scream in pain. “So you want me to remain hungry?” she spat angrily. William held his hand in pain holding back tears. The iron didn’t completely burn his skin but it still did a lot of damage. “I-I’ll get to it right away Madam Fiona.” he managed to let out some words. This was William’s life ever since he had gotten married to the daughter of the Grey family, Scarlett. Apparently, Richard Grey, Scarlett’s grandfather knew William’s grandfather when he was alive. He wanted Scarlett to get married to him so their marriage was arranged. Although he didn’t know the relationship Richard Grey had with his grandfather, he fell in love with Scarlett the moment he laid his eyes on her. Scarlett on the other hand wasn’t really in support of the marriage, but she didn’t want to go against her grandfather’s wishes so she agreed. She knew she was in line to inherit the Grey empire and didn’t want to do anything that would ruin her chances. Since getting married into the Grey family, William was treated even less than a servant. Although the Grey family had servants that worked for them, they chose to make William do menial jobs in the house. With his injured hand, William struggled to iron the rest of Damon’s clothes before heading to the kitchen to prepare Madame Fiona’s lunch. After he was done preparing it, he brought it to Madam Fiona who sat comfortably in the living room. He went on his knees and bowed his head as he served her. She had instructed him that he must always kneel whenever he wanted to serve her food and he had to remain on his knees until she had finished eating. As Fiona ate her food, she suddenly squeezed her face and spit the food on William’s face. “What is this pig food you served me? Why are you so useless?” Fiona had seen a new recipe online and had asked William to make it. He followed the recipe but she didn’t like it and decided he was to blame. “I’m sorry ma’am, I just followed the recipe you gave me.” William tried to explain himself. Fiona’s face twisted with anger. “That’s a lie! If you had followed the recipe, it wouldn’t have tasted like this.” Fiona had never tried that dish before so she actually had no idea what it tasted like. William had made it perfectly, but it didn’t taste how she imagined it and decided to take it out on him. She picked up the plate and dumped it over William’s head. The food flowed down his head and onto his clothes. Some of the food dripped down onto the rug. “You’ve stained my rug, you pig! Clean it now!” Fiona shouted angrily. William was about to get up to get a rag to clean it up when Fiona thundered. “Where do you think you’re going? Lick it up!” William’s eyes widened. “What?” “You heard me you pig! I said lick it up!” Fiona stepped on his head pushing it close to the ground. “Yes Madam Fiona.” William brought out his tongue and licked the food off the floor. “Lick it properly!” she said pressing her food harder on his head. When he was done licking the food off the rug, he felt a rush of shame and humiliation. Fiona smiled with satisfaction. “That’s a good dog. Now get out of my sight!” William took the food away and went to get himself cleaned up. “William!” Sophia shouted his name. He couldn’t even get a break in this house. What could she want this time? He quickly rushed down. Sophia Grey was one of the worst members of the Grey family. She always looked for every opportunity to make William’s life difficult. He definitely didn’t want to offend her. He quickly arrived where Sophia and her friend Jade were seated. “Yes. Miss Sophia. What can I do for you?” “Our feet are tired. We need to rest them on something.” “Do I get you a stool Miss Sophia?” William offered. However, Sophia had something else in mind. “Get on your knees you dog! You’ll be our stool.” William quickly went down on all fours. Sophia and Jade both placed their feet on his back and continued to chat. The weight of their legs hurt his back, but he dared not complain. Just then, Scarlett ran into the living room. There was a frightened look on her face. The next words out of her mouth left everyone in the room in shock.Expand

THE RISE OF THE INCREDIBLE ASHER KNIGHT Chapter 77
[William’s Apartment] “Scarlett is prepared to beat the bid. She has offered 130 billion dollars.” William informed Roland. Roland nodded, a bit surprised. “I wasn’t sure if she would.” William chuckled. “I know Scarlett. I knew she’d never be able to stand seeing William outdo her. Her pride won’t allow her to.” “I guess you’ll be awarding the contract to her now?” Roland asked. William’s eyes narrowed, he walked towards to his home bar picking out a bottle of whiskey. “Not yet. I still want to push her a little bit more.” A confused expression was drawn on Roland’s face. “What do you mean?” “EdgeSpin is going to be making another bid of 15 billion.” William replied. Roland’s eyes widened. “What? For her to match that, she’ll need to risk more than half of her company’s networth. Will she really be willing to do that?” William sat back on his leather seat, staring into the air as he took a sip of his whiskey. “Don’t worry. She will.” he said confidently. [Grey Industries]

THE RISE OF THE INCREDIBLE ASHER KNIGHT Chapter 76
Over the next day, Scarlett struggled to make a decision. To outbid EdgeSpin, she would have to make a risky investment. She wasn’t sure if that was a risk she was meant to take. On the other hand, Asher Knight had offered her a golden opportunity. There were many companies who would fight to get the chance she had just been given. She had always wanted to make Grey Industries greater. Was she really going to just let this chance slip by? She was still in thought when her intercom buzzed and her secretary’s voice came through. “Ma’am there’s someone here to see you.” Scarlett frowned. She wasn’t expecting anyone. “Who is it?” she asked. “He says he’s the CEO of a company named EdgeSpin.” her secretary replied. Scarlett’s eyes widened. The CEO of Edgespin? Why did he want to see her? “Alright. You can let him in.” Some minutes later, her office door opened and a man in a grey suit stepped inside. Immediately she saw him, her expression turned sour. “You???” she blurt

“We’re prepared to publicly announce the project.” Roland said as he walked into William’s office. William nodded. “Good. Make sure you spread the word that Knight Industries have already found a company that they are willing to partner with.” “I’m sure this will make Scarlett even more desperate to acquire the 30% stake in the project.” he said, branding a wicked smile. [ Grey Industries. ] “Ma’am, Project Contrl has been officially announced by Knight Industries.” Scarlett’s secretary informed her in her office. Scarlett smiled inwardly, she was sure that with her relationship with Asher Knight, he was surely going to choose Grey Industries as the official partner. “Have there been any information about the company they plan to award the 30% stake to?” she asked. “Yes, Ma’am.” her secretary replied. Scarlett smiled expecting the next name to come out of the secretary’s mouth to be Grey Industries. “It’s a company called EdgeSpin. I hear they are in advance talks t

THE RISE OF THE INCREDIBLE ASHER KNIGHT Chapter 74
At 7:00 pm, a limo came to pick up Scarlett. She wore a striking red dress and red lipstick to match. Soon they arrived at the sea dock. She stepped out and immediately saw Asher Knight waiting for her. He looked effortlessly handsome in a dark navy suit, no tie, just the right hint of charm and mystery. Scarlett looked around confused . “I thought we were having dinner? I don’t think there are any restaurants around here.” “We are.” William said with a charming chuckle. “I wanted us to have a private dinner on my yacht.” Asher led her to his yacht where a romantic dinner setup was waiting for them. The floor was littered with beautiful roses, and lavender candles all over. Scarlett felt like a princess as he pulled her chair for her. “Isn’t this a bit too much for a first date?” she asked casually. “Well,” William said as he took his seat. “I have never brought any woman on my yacht before, you are a special woman and deserve a special first date.” Scarlett couldn’t h

THE RISE OF THE INCREDIBLE ASHER KNIGHT Chapter 73
The conference hall of Skyline Center hummed with a quiet intensity. Crisp suits, sharp ties and the occasional glint of an expensive watch could be seen all around. The BusinessXperts Expo was were ideas turned into deals. One right handshake could secure a decade worth of fortune. Scarlett adjusted her blazer as she walked into the venue. She put on a cream coloured blouse and black trousers. Simple but sharp. After all, she knew she wasn’t even one of the big names there. Scarlett stepped into the main area. Dozens of booths from industry giants filled the room. The latest innovations in logistics, real estate, tech, AI and more were all around. Some of these innovations weren’t even accessible to the public yet. Eventually she found herself near a lounge area where she drank a glass of champagne as she glanced over some brochures. Just a few feet away from her, some men were discussing quietly, but not low enough for Scarlett not to hear their conversation. “Have you

THE RISE OF THE INCREDIBLE ASHER KNIGHT Chapter 72
Scarlett walked into the Grey mansion with a wide grin on her face. She tossed her purse on the sofa and spun slightly. Her joy was so much that it couldn't be contained. “Guess who just closed a huge contract worth a billion with Knight Industries?” The room went still. Sophia who was lying down reading a magazine quickly stood up straight, nearly spilling the drink on the table. Her eyes widened with interest. “Wait..What? You met Asher Knight? Did he say anything about me?” Sophia asked with eagerness. Scarlett’s smile dropped into a look of dry amusement. She folded her arms, leaning against the doorway. “No. He didn’t mention you once.” Her tone was cool, but there was a sharp edge of satisfaction in it. “I’m not even sure he remembers you… other than the fact that you almost dragged him into a scandal.” Sophia’s face turned red with annoyance as she clenched her jaw tightly. Her nostrils flared up as she was ready to fire back a sharp insult, but a single glance from
