Sunita screamed until her throat burned. Her voice shattered the unnatural silence of Isha's frozen time. She watched as Isha's pale fingers began to dissolve into silver grains, caught in the night wind. Isha reached for Sunita, but the cold grip of the dimensional entity dragged her back, pulling her away from a reality that was beginning to crack under the strain of excessive energy.

Isha looked at Sunita, her eyes slowly losing their silver focus. She didn't give up. With her remaining strength, she thrust her left hand toward the helicopter hovering above. A massive kinetic explosion slammed into the rotors, forcing the machine to spin wildly before crashing into the ground with a deafening roar.

"Sunita, run!" Isha shouted, her voice hoarse and broken.

The mysterious entity growled low in Isha's ear, a sound like the grinding of a million metal plates in the depths of hell. Isha twisted her body with the last of her strength, elbowing the chest of the black shadow that held her. She managed to break free, though the skin of her shoulder was shredded by the sheer cold of the energy. Isha collapsed onto the frozen asphalt. Time resumed with the frantic thumping of Sunita's heart.

Sunita jumped out of the car, sprinting through the rain that had resumed its downpour. She ignored the stray bullets fired by the remaining agents near the helicopter wreckage. She only wanted to reach Isha. She threw her arms around him, holding him tight against her heaving chest. Isha gasped, his body burning with an unnatural heat.

"You can't leave," Sunita whispered, her tears mingling with the rain on her face. "I'm not letting you go, not after everything we've been through."

Isha looked up at Sunita.

Her trembling fingers, still shaking, touched the woman's face, leaving a faint smudge of silver dust behind. "They ... they won't stop, Sunita. That facility. You have to get inside. You're the only one who can unlock the master access. I've transferred all the data into your nervous system with this final touch."

Sunita’s eyes widened. She felt a foreign surge of information crashing into her mind, a digital map and incredibly complex access codes. She didn't have time to process it before a small explosion erupted behind the helicopter wreckage. The organization's elite squad emerged, led by a man in a steel mask wielding a mass-destruction device.

"Isha is finished. Hand over the woman!" the masked man commanded.

Isha struggled to her feet with great effort, positioning herself in front of Sunita. Though her strength was fading, she still held enough energy for one final stand. Isha turned toward Sunita, giving her a brief kiss filled with unspoken promises. It tasted of salt, tears, and blood.

"Remember, Sunita. You are the key to everything," Isha whispered before charging alone into the line of agents.

Battle broke out under the torrential rain. Isha moved with unnatural speed, striking and kicking every enemy that dared to approach. She used the last remnants of her time manipulation to neutralize them one by one. Sunita didn't just stand by; she used a laser pistol she had stolen and fired at anyone trying to take aim at Isha from a distance.

Amidst the whistle of bullets and flashes of lasers, Sunita ran toward the office entrance ahead of them. She knew that door was the gateway to the main facility. She had to clear a path for Isha to enter. Pressing her hand against the door scanner, she let the data Isha had given her flow through. The indicator light turned green. The door hissed open with a heavy hydraulic sound.

Sunita turned to call out to Isha, but the sight made her freeze. Isha was cornered by the masked man holding the mass-destruction device. He slammed the device into Isha’s chest. Electric blue light enveloped Isha’s body, causing her to groan in agony as her back arched violently.

"Isha!" Sunita screamed.

Isha looked at Sunita, her eyes once again glowing silver, but this time with a painful intensity. She smiled at Sunita, a smile that carried the weight of an eternal goodbye.

"Get inside, Sunita! Destroy this place from within!" Isha yelled.

With one final, powerful movement, Isha triggered a spatial blast that sent the masked man flying until he slammed into a building wall. Isha fell to her knees, her breathing stopped. Her body began to glow with a brilliant light, signaling that she was triggering an internal temporal explosion that would wipe out the entire area.

Sunita realized that if she didn't go now, Isha's sacrifice would be in vain. She sprinted into the building, tears streaming down her face. She heard a scream from Isha’s direction just before a blinding flash of silver light swallowed the entire street in front of the office. Sunita kept running through the dark corridors, her heart hammering against her ribs. She reached the central control room, which was filled with massive screens displaying the organization’s global movements.

She pressed her hand onto the main console. The system recognized her as a part of Isha. The data inside her mind began streaming into the computer system at high speed. Alarms blared throughout the building. Guards in the hallway began swarming toward the control room. Sunita took a deep breath, staring at the door as agents began pounding on it.

She knew this was the end of the line. She activated the building's self-destruct system, set to detonate the underground core reactor. Her hands moved rapidly, locking down all access points so no one could escape.

"Goodbye, Isha," Sunita whispered as she pressed the final execution key.

The floor beneath her feet began to vibrate violently. The ceiling started to cave in, crushing the agents who had just broken through the door. Sunita didn't hide. She stood in the center of the room, watching the screens as they displayed the building's destruction sequence. In the final second before the reactor blew, she saw one screen showing Isha standing in the fading silver light outside the building. Isha was still alive, but she was surrounded by thousands of agents who had just landed in additional helicopters.

Sunita closed her eyes as the heat from the reactor began to crawl across the floor. A massive boom echoed from beneath the ground. The walls shattered, and flames began to lick at the air. Sunita wasn't afraid. She only hoped Isha could survive the siege, even if their world lay in ruins.

"Is this the end of everything?" Sunita murmured before a hard object struck the back of her head, sending her collapsing onto the cracking floor.

  • Chapter 5 Battle in the Time Corridor

The woman Isha had called out to stood tall in the center of the ranks of armed men. Her hair was pulled back in a neat bun, and her gaze was as sharp as a dagger. She was the figure who had haunted Isha's nightmares every time she closed her eyes, someone who was supposed to have died in an anomaly incident twenty years ago. Isha felt her chest tighten, her breath catching in her throat. The world around the rooftop seemed to spin, creating a suffocating illusion."Isha?" Sunita gripped Isha's arm tightly, her fingernails digging into Isha's skin. "What do you mean, Mother? That woman? Is she their leader?"Isha could not find the words to answer. Her tongue felt heavy. She could only watch as the middle-aged woman below began to approach the rooftop stairs. Every step she took was punctuated by the rhythmic thud of boots from the dozens of agents following her. They surrounded the roof, cutting off every possible escape route. Martix emerged from the shadows, his face bruised and co
