Chapter 8

Roseanna couldn't stop grinning as Dana took some steps away from the entrance.

"Dana," Roseanna called,

"Don't forget to kneel," she reminded before walking into the hall with Ethan, causing Dana to boil.

"Eric!!!! What kind of humiliation is this?" She asked, furiously.

"Calm down, Dana; I'm trying to sort things out," he informed.

"Why is it taking time for you to sort things out? Can you do it immediately!" She said.

Seeing that speaking with the security captain was useless, Eric took his phone out of his pocket and dialed his boss number.

"Who are you calling?" Dana was being impatient.

"My boss. He can sort the matter," he responded.

"Hello, Mr. Will Port," Eric said as soon as the man answered the call.

Will Port owns 5% of Secret Company's shares, and Eric has been bribing him for the longest time now.

"I need your help. I'm at the commercial dinner party, and I'm outside the entrance. The guards wouldn't let me in," Eric explained.

"And why is that?" Will Port asked.

"Well, the company gave out a supreme invite to someone we know..."

"The invite is fake, Eric; don't forget to add that," Dana cut in.

"Isn't that Dana?" Will port, asked.

"Yes, she's outside the entrance with me. Unfortunately, we were both kicked out," he informed.

"Wow. That's surprising." He paused, letting Eric assume the worst before saying,

"I can help you,"

Will Port was aware that Secret Company's mysterious heir would be coming today, and over the years now, he has noticed something odd.

In every meeting that the company has, Lilian, the CEO, would bring in impromptu information from the boss of the secret company that would always be of benefit to Dana's company, and finally this year, he had decided to go into business with her and make her one of his strongest partners in business.

Everyone was already clear that Dana was in favor of the mysterious heir, so hearing that the matter involved her and Eric, who happens to be her very good friends, he was sure that the power of the supreme badge invite could be bypassed.

After ending the call with his boss, he grinned, turning to the captain; he gazed at him triumphantly.

Suddenly, the security captain's phone started buzzing in his pocket; he took the phone out and answered the call.

"Hello,"

"Security captain! Why were the senior manager and Dana kicked out?" Will asked.

"It was the power exercised by the supreme badge, sir. You know the conduct and policy of the company," the captain said.

"You're not the one to tell me about the conduct and policy of the company; let the senior manager and Dana into the dinner hall," he ordered.

"Okay, sir," the captain said, hesitating.

After ending the call with Will, he turned to the security guard and said, "Let them in."

Dana grinned. "You're very lucky that you didn't lose your job," she threatened.

As they got into the hall, their eyes immediately fell on Ethan and Roseanna. Dana triumphantly walked to where they stood and flashed a smile of mockery on her face.

Roseanna was stunned to see both of them.

"Surprised? Do you really think you could play God because you have the supreme badge with you? And by the way, I'm really sure it's fake," she said, causing Roseanna to narrow her eyes.

"Yeah, you've gotten in, but I'm certain that the cooperation you so desperately want won't be given to you." She threatened, causing Dana to pause for a second before bursting into a fit of laughter.

"Oh, you're just so funny," Dana remarked in between her laughter.

"You'll see. You won't get the cooperation opportunity."

She paused, finally deciding to be serious. "And you think so because? Don't tell me it's because you have the supreme badge. You think you can walk up to the CEO and flash the card in front of her, saying, "Hello, CEO of Secret company, I have the supreme badge, and I want to exercise the power of the invite by removing Dana from your list of business partners? Just like that?" Dana asked, arching her brows.

"I can't do that, but I'm certain of what I said," Roseanna informed calmly, causing Dana to sneer.

"There's no way that can happen because Eric is the company's senior manager, and his boss owns 5% of Secret company, which is not even comparable to the badge you have, so I'd advise that before you start speaking gibberish, you should think again!"

"Besides, the badge that you both have might be fake, or you guys might have stolen it, but either way, the truth always comes out, and you both will soon be exposed and kicked out of the party," Dana added.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Secret Company's commercial dinner party." The host said from the stage, causing Dana and Roseanna to shift their attention to her.

"I'm glad that everyone here could make it to this commercial dinner party." She added before opening a fancy gold-lined paper,

"This company was founded years ago, and most esteemed guests present here have taken part in the growth of the company." She paused,

"Today, I have two great news for everyone. Firstly, I want us to give a toast to the founder of this great company," she said, taking her glass of wine up, raising it to the air.

"To the founder of this great company."

"To the founder of this great company," everyone chorused, mimicking her action.

"The first news on my list is that this year, Secret Company has decided to cooperate with 10 companies, and their names would be announced soon." She paused. Letting the applause fill the air of the room.

"I'm sure you all are eager to know what the second news is." She said.

"Well. I would waste no time in telling you. The second good news on my list is that the mysterious boss of Secret company will reveal his identity today.”
