Chapter 1

"Uhh, yes, there, just right there!"

Ethan clutched his fingers tightly, forming a fist as he watched the video in front of him. The woman in the video screamed loudly, but each sound pierced Ethan’s heart like a knife.

“No… This can’t be my wife…”

Ethan’s hands trembled as he tried to turn off the video. He couldn’t believe that his wife would do something like this!

But just a second before the video closed, a distinctive tattoo flashed before Ethan’s eyes.

It was Dana’s tattoo—one inked on a private part of her body, something only someone extremely intimate with her would know about.

So… this video wasn’t AI-generated.

Ethan shut the video with shaking hands, his heart sinking into despair.

Seeing a video of his wife in his own email—it was an unbearable humiliation!

What enraged him even more was the sender’s name: Eric Johnson!

This was the man who had been getting close to his wife recently—the heir of the Johnson family!

“I hope you can face reality and stop clinging to the position of Dana’s husband. She’s so successful in business, while all you do is waste away at home! You saw it yourself—she’s happy with me…”

The arrogant words filled Ethan with agony. He collapsed onto the sofa, his mind completely blank.

He had no idea how much time had passed when, suddenly, the front door swung open.

"Why was the front door not locked?" Dana's voice rang in the room as she abruptly walked in, holding her heels in her right hand.

She staggered towards the sofa close to the bed in the bedroom and threw her bag to it; the smell of alcohol reeked over her, and Ethan just couldn't bring himself to stare at her.

"Are you deaf? You really want to act like you didn't hear me or see that I'm back home," she hissed, swaying to the bathroom.

As she opened the door, her eyes fell on the empty bathtub, and in a rage, she turned to Ethan and thundered, "Why didn't you prepare a bath for me? Have you suddenly become so comfortable that you no longer know what to do?"

Ethan scoffed, lifting his gaze to face her with bloodshot eyes. He got to his feet, standing so tall that even with the distance between them, one would notice the height difference between them.

"I want a divorce," he said sternly with no ounce of joke in his tone.

"Haha haha, it's either that you're joking or I'm beginning to hear things," Dana sneered.

"It's not a joke, Dana; I want a divorce," Ethan repeated. This time, he was cold.

Dana stared at him, waiting for him to call it a prank, but Ethan's expression was stern.

"You can't be serious, Ethan. You know that my company is about to bag a big deal with Secret Company! Having a divorce now would be scandalous. It would affect the deal, Ethan," she frowned.

"You know this company is one of the biggest in the country; you can't really be serious with the divorce thing right now. You know how much their cooperation means to me," she added. For a second, one would think that Dana didn't just walk into the room drunk.

Ethan shook his head in disbelief; she spoke with so much confidence and boldness. Every word that escaped her lips didn't get to Ethan; he was irritated by them.

With a straight expression, he opened his phone and took his hand forward, showing the video Eric sent to her.

"Take a look at this, Dana; if you care so much about your big deal, then you shouldn't have cheated."

Dana was immediately speechless; she swallowed hard, trying to get a hold of Ethan's phone, but he didn't let her.

"How did you get this video?" she asked, still in shock.

Ethan ignored her and shoved his phone into his pocket. His silence irked Dana so much that she stepped forward and hissed,

"Is that why you want a divorce? What did you really expect from me? To stay faithful? Wait, I don't understand you. You really think that all the money I spend is from my company's account? I need financial help, Ethan, and that's something you can't give."

"This deal I have with Secret company is all thanks to Eric; the trip I went on last week was funded by him! What exactly have you done for me to stay faithful to you? Huh, do you even want to know what I think?" She paused, expecting to get a reaction from Ethan, but unfortunately, she couldn't.

Eric is the senior manager at Secret Company. Because of his position, he was able to aid Dana in getting the contract with them, but they're yet to finalize everything and sign.

Ethan kept a straight face, waiting for her to continue, "I think that you owe me, yes! You owe me for putting a roof over your head, you owe me for feeding you, for sponsoring your very cheap lifestyle." She yelled.

"And now, you’re trying to ruin my collaboration with Secret Company through our divorce?" Dana’s sharp voice grated on Ethan’s nerves.

Ethan was stunned; he didn't think that Dana would just admit to it; he didn't expect her to be this shameless.

He responded coldly, "Don’t worry, Dana. I won’t make our divorce public… In fact, we never even announced our marriage. Don’t you think it’s a bit ridiculous for you to be concerned about this?"

Dana froze. It was true—she had never publicly acknowledged her marriage to Ethan. Aside from her closest friends, no one even knew he existed.

Ethan looked at her and let out a self-mocking chuckle.

"We can add that to the divorce terms. I would never reveal to the public that I am your ex-husband because it would be the greatest disgrace to me!" Ethan said.

Dana was furious and humiliated. Cornered by Ethan’s words, she had no way to retreat. Her voice rose as she shouted,

“Divorce! I’ve had enough of a useless man like you! I’d love to see how you survive without me—besides begging on the streets, what else can you possibly do?”

Ethan remained expressionless as he silently handed Dana the divorce agreement he had just finalized.

"Done!" Dana cut in, signing the papers without thinking twice.

"You will surely regret this, Ethan; you're making a big mistake." She paused, taking her hand forward as she pointed a finger that Ethan,

"Look, don't expect me to give you a penny, and don't think that I'll let you sleep in my villa." She informed.

Ethan nodded before responding, "I won't regret it."

He turned and walked out of the mansion, making his way out of the villa when a Rolls-Royce Sweptail pulled up in front of him.

A blonde haired lady stepped out of the car and quickly approached Ethan.

"Hello, are you Mr. Ethan?" The woman in front of him asked nervously.

"It’s me. Who are you? What do you want?" Ethan asked coldly, his voice low and indifferent.

The woman lowered her head anxiously and bowed deeply to Ethan.

Her bow was so deep that Ethan could see half of her breast.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ethan. My name is Rosanna, and I’m a business competitor of your wife… Our company may have used certain special methods to compete with her before. I wasn’t aware of your identity at the time…"

Rosanna explained nervously.

Ethan frowned. He hadn’t completely hidden his identity—anyone who put in a bit of effort could find out that he was a key figure in Secret Company.

All business matters related to Secret Company had been entrusted to his wife. He had never cared about that Eric at all!

Of course, he had an even more covert identity, one that ordinary people wouldn’t be able to uncover so easily.

Ethan let out a self-mocking laugh. How ironic—his wife’s competitor had managed to investigate his identity, yet Dana herself never cared enough to find out.

Yet, his wife even believed that all the credit belonged to Eric!

To her, he was nothing but a useless failure, not even worth the effort of looking into.

With an indifferent expression, Ethan said, "No need to apologize. Dana and I are no longer related."

Pretty well written, but should pay more attention to unnecessarily repeating paragraphs, out of sequence, and using incorrect character names way too often!
