That night was a very big night for Lucas.

He had successfully secured a contract with Roxanne, even though she and Smith denied having anything to do with the watch.

His heart beamed with joy all through the night and he slept peacefully in the chilling 5 star hotel room owned by Roxanne and got the best relaxation he had ever gotten in quite a long time.

The best massage and a peaceful nap.

When he woke up the next morning, his eyes shone in shock as he picked up his phone.

“Freya!!! Oh my God!!!”

He rushed to the bathroom and quickly showered. The beeping sounds of his phone sang in the room as he endlessly tried to call her but all to no avail.

“Come on, pick up…”

He tapped his feet softly as he patiently waited for her to answer but she didn't.

Immediately, he dashed out of the hotel room and ran into the garage like crazy person, not minding his personality.

His engine sped off into the distance as his mind thundered with fear. However, the fear was overwhelmed with the joy of the new deal he had just secured.

His mind was consumed by it and he drove speedily back home.

“Yes! I did it!!”

He was screaming all the way home as he drove and soon, the humming sound of his engine was heard in his garage and thereafter, his door bounced open.

He walked briskly with joy and the door creaked open softly, the glowing gems on his watch sparked with the radiation of the sunlight.

“Freya! I'm home!!!”

He tried to do it on a very light and peaceful note, but little did he know he was been waited for by an angry bird, that was all fired up and ready to devour him to thousands of pieces.

“Where were you last night?”

It felt like she just appeared from nowhere as her voice echoed by the kitchen where she stood, her arms folded, her eyes burning with anger.

“My love, I have big news for you… I just secured a deal with…”

“You can keep it to yourself. Where were you last night that you didn't answer my calls?”

He buried his head in remorse and his voice low with persuasion.

“I'm sorry I missed your calls. I was at an event at the Apple corporation. Smith asked me to come and do the unveiling… I rushed home immediately I woke up and saw your missed calls. I even tried to call you but you weren't answering…”

“How did you get that watch?”

His face sank as he looked at the watch, it's gems glowing in his eyes. He looked at Freya again, and took a step back.

“What's with all the questions?”

“Just answer it…”

The echoes of her feet tapping softly against the kitchen floor sang in his ears. Her anger burned in her soul and was transferred through the tiles to Lucas.

He knew he was in soup.

He can't possibly tell her that he didn't know how he got it, neither can he tell her it was his system that gave it to him…

It dawned on him that he was in for another amazing drama with Freya this morning.

“It was a gift… Freya come on…”

She warned him sternly, her fingers pointed right in his face.

“Don't come any closer.” Her quivering voice echoed softly across the room. “A gift from who?”

‘What do I tell her now?’ he thought.

“Freya, it's just a watch… come on…”

It was clear that those little tactics of his weren't going to save him today. She was all out for him and there was no running away this time.

“I know it's just a watch, but from who?”

He let out a deep breath and walked closer.

“Come on… I told you it was gift…”

“Do I have to remind you to stay back…” she warned. “I know it's just a gift. A two million dollar gift right? It's nothing right?”

This was when he ven realized the value of what he was wearing on his wrist.

‘How did she even know?’ he thought.

‘Oh, last night. The pictures with Roxanne, oh my God. That must be what is causing all these questions…’

He can't lie to her. His system task wasn't over yet. He would have just said it was Smith, but that would be a lie. He can't also tell her it was Roxanne too or his system.

“Uhm…Freya…” he stuttered, unable to provide an answer, the rustling of his hair as his fingers pinched them softly sang in his ears.

Shs clapped for him, the sounds of her hands echoed in the room.

“You've done well. But let me tell you now, if you can't be honest with me, if you can't tell me where that watch came from, don't expect me to be home when you come!” The finality in her words rocked him as it was clear she was fed up with everything.

Her cold feet thundered against the stairs as she headed back upstairs and her sobs was loud and pricked his heart.

However, he had work to do and besides, she wasn't going to listen to him or else he told her how he got that watch which he couldn't.

All he did was go to his room, freshened up, changed, dropped the watch and headed to work.

Today was a very busy day for him as he would be signing all the contracts and sponsorship deals and everything.

However, he was not himself at all.

Back at home, while Freya was still packing her bags, a knock sounded on the door.

“Hold up, I'll be right there…”

Without wasting any time, she headed there and saw a delivery man, standing Lucas’s briefcase.

“Hi, please, Ms. Roxanne asked me to deliver this to Mr. Lucas Ross. He forgot it in the hotel room last night…”

Her head banged with pain. It felt like he had just dropped a bomb in it.

However, she maintained her composure and smiled.

“He's not around, but I'll take it. I'm his wife…”

Thereafter, he left and she fumed with anger.

“So he even had sex with her?! Lucas?! How could you?!”

After a long and busy day at the office, he headed back home.

However, the door was unlocked.

‘What?!’

“Freya!!! Freya!!!!!”

His voice echoed into the empty house. He also saw his briefcase sitting on the table with a small piece of paper.

“You can enjoy your Roxanne…”

“Oh my God! No!”

He rushed upstairs, only to find her wardrobe empty.

His heart thumped with pain as the realization of the whole thing hit him hard.

She was gone…
