The Unknown

Prologue~

The moonlight shines unto the earth, creating a serene ambiance in the silent night. The trees in the woods and meadow's path gently sway from the breeze.

An Argentavis flies towards the woods on the mountain, her wings spread wide in a carefree manner. She chirps loud enough to wake the creatures of the night. She rests on the broad shoulders of a man, His shadow reflecting under the moonlight.

He turns around to face the celestial beings, standing in a prone line with their eyes focus on him restless.

The man raises his finger to stroke the bird's head. His touch relaxes her.

"Your Honour," a calm voice calls for his attention. His gaze meets with that of another, curiosity and anxiety dancing in the eyes of the latter.

"The moon is so bright tonight," he begins as he glances up at the moon while crossing his arms behind his back.

"Brighter than usual. If only it would eradicate the evil manifesting within the paranormal world," the eldest of the celestial beings says, his gaze remaining focused on the man standing in the middle.

The others nod their heads in agreement.

"Hahaha… right, is that possible?" The man we came to know as 'Your Honour' asks them while raising the corners of his mouth into a grin.

There is a deafening silence after his words as everyone contemplates within themselves.

*Humph*

The eldest among the celestial beings hits his staff on the ground, getting the others' attention. He directs his icy glare at the other beings.

"We can't let this continue to go on like this," he hisses, baring his teeth.

"Lord Morgan, you can't predict for the heavens, can you?" The man, whom they address as Your honor, thundered, revealing a dry smile. The said, Lord Morgan, grits his bared teeth and looks away.

Another period of silence occurs before the man[Your honor] raises his head towards the others, observing their expressions.

"Fellow guardians of the paranormal world, we will do nothing but wait for the prophecy to take place," he says, noting their reactions.

"Pardon me, Your Honour. Our mystic world craves a change from the evil hands of Alaric and his offspring," the second in command of the celestial being says, sadness obvious in his voice.

"But he is already dead!" the youngest of them[The third guardian] counters with a raised eyebrow.

"Though he's dead, his offspring and seeds of evil continue to sabotage our world." Lord Morgan says through clenched teeth.[The first guardian]

The first man they all addressed as Your Honour stands by the side, listening to every word they say.

"You all need not worry… our work is to guard the mystic world," he says as he controls his staff with his fingers, making the globe on the one end glow.

"It could take days, weeks, years. We just don't know when." He continues to reiterate until they all nod in mutual acknowledgment. "Until the one, the prophecy speaks of appears, we need to stay united and guard the mystic world." He added as he places his glowing staff in front of the celestial being who are standing in a prone line facing him.

The other celestial beings follow suit and bring out their magical weapons. They activate them using their inner powers. The celestials nudge their weapons into the air, which then rotate and generate more power.

They channel and combine the power produced by their magical weapons until it forms a dome, which spreads throughout the vast six seas of the paranormal.

Seeing the result of their union, they step closer to each other. Standing shoulder to shoulder, in a prone line. They stare ahead toward the horizon with determination in their eyes.

Elsewhere in the woods, A Red Shadow saunters deep into the woods without fear. No one can tell the difference between its silhouette and the dead knight.

The figure moves with speed, making every tree's leaves shiver in its wake. A strange aura halts its movements while it takes time to observe the unbroken forest collected.

The moonlight reveals the shadow of a bird flying above the trees.

As the bird lands on a tree branch, folding its wings while observing The Red Shadow below, the moonlight reveals its true form [An Ancient Bat Beast] He flies into the woods the instant his mistress senses the arrival of the intruder into the forest he arrived to stop it.

The Red Shadow, seeing the reflection of the Bat Beast in the moonlight, curves its lips into a corny smile and disappears.

'What just happened?'

The Bat Beast's eyes flicker in confusion when he witnesses the figure he was tailing disappear in front of him. He flies down from the tree branch to where the Red Figure stood moments prior.

The Bat Beast takes a slow step up. He looks around the woods, his wings flapping at every turn. He slowly went down onto his knees and sniffs the ground for the intruder's scent.

Failing to catch one, he grits his teeth in anger. In a flash, The Red Shadow appears behind him without making a sound.

The bat beast feels a powerful grip on his neck as he is lifted high above the ground. He struggles in vain to free himself from his attacker.

He attempts to dominate his attacker instead. Every vein in his body becomes paralyzed.

The Red Shadow rips off his wings, producing a loud, terrifying scream from the bat beast.

It didn't stop there.

The Bat Beast screams as he feels the beastly nails of his assaulter sink deep into his neck. A metallic smell engulfs him as a green substance gushes out of his neck.

With what's left of his willpower, he swings his arm backward and attempts to gouge out the eyes of his attacker. For his efforts, his head is ripped off by The Red Shadow.

The red shadow plunged the head of the dead bat beast into its shoulder.
