Ignoring his pain, Hugh Morland replied with a slight cough, "No, Gideon. Remember, Jack must not be bothered with bad news about me."

Gideon began to look troubled. But Hugh said, "Gideon, you promised me that you would not say anything to Jack without my orders. So, I beg you, keep your word."

The man who had served Hugh for a dozen years also looked at the master through the screen with uncertainty.

"Please help that old man who has no one else but my grandson. You're the only one I trust, so can you assist Jack to reach his goal, Gideon?" Hugh asked whose face was starting to look pale.

Gideon realized that his great master's wishes were only for his grandson's benefit, so he had no choice but to say, "Yes, sir. You do not need to ask me for help. I will certainly always do the task you give me."

Hugh Morland nodded with relief. "I am glad to hear that."
