Preparation

Sean though of the reason, he guessed that was because he was still a novice player, not experienced enough.

Lyla watched his demonstrations and also imitiate have steps, it quite difficult for her to learn the skill unlike Sean who learnt it instantly with the help of the system.

"Using dagger seem to be more difficult than blocking attacks" Lyla spectated, breathing heavily.

"That is because attacking skills can also be used to defend, take blocking with a dagger for example" Sean explained.

Lyla stopped learning for a while, sge looked at Sean as jealousy flashed through her face.

"You are lucky, aren't you? You have already learnt blocking skill and you are also good with the dagger, you can just attack while defending at the same time. Guess I'm not as good as you are"

"Don't think that way. To be honest, I can learn things faster today because 'self defense has always been a prominent course for all yo study back at home'. You tried your best. " Sean comforted Lyla.

He is not completely honest though, ye might have lived most of his life time in the street among the thugs but he doesn't really take self defense serious. Sometimes, he even wished some random thug to end his life but that thug never came.

Lyla knew Sean was trying to comfort him but she did not want to get comforted, it took her more than a year to learn blocking skill, most of her mates learned it within six to eight months and Sean even learned it within few minutes. Her then teachers told her the same thing Sean was saying now but she only ended up lagging behind her mates.

Sean felt Lyla's discomfort, so he tried to let her accomplish something

"Do not think negatively, the journey of a thousand miles start with a step"

Since the system imparted the complete basic knowledge of dagger usage to Sean's brain, he was able to know the easiest move of the skill.

Sean demonstrated the move for Lyla, she found it easier and started to learn seriously.

Both of them trained from morning till afternoon, by then, Lyla already knew the easiest move of the dagger skill.

She still didn't shake change her negative veiw though

"Seems like I'm not that gifted" she said.

"You really did well" Sean commented

"I know, but I'm still lagging compared to you…I'm stupid comparing myself to you " after a rethink, Lyla blamed herself

"You've shown enough of yiur strength, surviving in this apocalypse world with devil's attack and robbers attacks, you are worth pairing with " Sean replied

"Don't worry, you don't have to watch my back during the battle, all man for himself "

"If you say so" Sean replied

This time was their time to rest since the fight will be at night, they also have to go get devil's bone to make weapons against the devils.

They might not have time but resting cannot be undone, they needed enough rest to calm their nerves before the fight.

Sean and Lyla didn't waste their resting time though, they used to time to talk more about the city for Sean's understanding. Lyla even drew a sketch of the City's map just for Sean to know how to move especially when being pursued

After a while, they had the sketch of Bila street block before them.

"This is Bila street block, the street where we were attacked. This street is deserted since it is the closest Street to the devil's headquarters. The devil's headquarters is around 50 miles away from Bila street block but that is not an advantage for us,the devil's speed can't be underestimated. 20 miles away from the beginning of Bila street block is the house in which you killed the devil, that gives us 70 miles away from the devil's headquarters"

Lyla stopped talking for a while and raised her head from thenso sketch to Sean just to confirm if Sean was listening. When she saw Sean nodded his head, she continued

"You have the scent on you, the devil's eill be able to sense you in ten minutes after we arrived at the building, judging from their speed and inocollaboration, they will get to the building in 15 minutes, that gives us 20 minutes to take as much devil's bone as we can and the remaining 5 minutes is for us to escape. Is thst clear?" Lyla planned and then asked with heavy expression on her face, she knew it was easier saud than done. Sean also understood the situation they are in but ye didn't want to scare the lady so he just nodded.

"If I may ask, fighting the devils or fighting humans, which one do you find more easier?" Lyla asked.

"Why do you ask?" Sean asked, furrowing his brows

"We might have another five minutes added time if we go in the afternoon. Anyway, if we meet with any human, they might want to rob us of our profits " Lyla explained

"Humans will be more easier then" Sean answered.

"Then we should prepare to move, we must try not to bring the devuks to the humans or else, we might get ourself on the bad side of humans" Lyla advised.

"Noted " Sean replied as he carried his backpack, ready to set out.

'A senior apprentice sister like a serial killer '

That was the first impression Trina had on Kins Lady.

As she followed Zi Xuan deep into the cave, the cave began to slope downward. Strangely however, the water between the gaps of the stones still ll flowed toearfs the mouth of the cave.

"You are warned to never touch the stream beneath us, it is very poisonous, even we can't resist it"

Trina did heed the warning but the part she didn't really understand is the 'we' in Zi Xuan's sentence.

"Are they different from the sect's members or are they way stronger than us?" Trina asked herself.

"It doesn't matter though, I've got rye system" Trina Concluded.

She might be new in this game but in her previous game, she was a grand master. She already knew how gaming system works even though this system seem to be a little different, her little knowledge is still helping her.

Even without Zi Xuan's reminder, Trina already guessed herself that the water is normal. On the right side of the cave, there was a crocodile, or maybe it was the statue of a crocodile, Trina didn't want to make dangerous guesses so she made herself believed it is a real crocodile.

"This is a game in which I have no control in, a statue crocodile might turn out to be real at any moment" Trina said to herself.

The crocodile was a giant one, it's mouth is like a path to another part of the cave, they didn't took rhet route though. Waters were dripping from the mouth of the crocodile and joined with the stream , Trina couldn't tell maybe it was really water or saliva from the crocodile.

The most surprising part was the water from the crocodile was joined with a little water that came from the ground and made a stream throughout the cave.

"This is the guardian of the sect, Su Lan, you can call her miss Lan"Zi Xuan introduced. " Anyway, Miss Lan hate being interrupted while doing her job, it looks like she is asleep but she is not, better not yo get too close " Zi Xuan advised, pointing towards the crocodile.

Trina's heart jumped where Zi Xuan confirmed that the crocodile wasn't a statue, she whispered an 'I knew it' in her mind and goosebumps rose all over her body; she had never seen a real crocodile before in get life.

She nodded and continue following Zi Xuan.

After walking for almost five minutes, Trina finally saw a touch of light in the cave. The massive face of a rock soon emerged in Trina's view, obstructing the light from shedding through the cave's passageway.

It was a gargantuan brightly lit stone wall, riddled with cave's carved into the face of the wall, packed densely together like a beehive. Each cave was sealed by a stone door and seemed to be inhabitable.

A rugged stone pillar stoid before the rock wall, with a massive blood coloured symbol painted on it. In the darkness, the pillar released a gloomy, melancholic and bloodthirsty glow.
