Today is the fifth anniversary of Jeffery and his wife's wedding, and he returned home early.

He prepared a large bouquet of roses, planning to invite his wife to a candlelight dinner to give her a big surprise.

After all, it had been a long time since they had such moments.

After his pet hospital closed, his income sharply decreased, and Cora's attitude towards him changed significantly; they hadn't been close for a long time.

Jeffery had been trying to revive his business, but the results were not good.

He came home early today to surprise his wife Cora, hoping to restore the harmonious relationship they once had.

However, as soon as he walked in the house, he heard noise coming from the bedroom.

Jeffery felt a bit strange; who could be in the house?

Cora should be at work at this time.

He approached the bedroom and heard a woman's scream coming from inside.

“Yes... Adam. Deeper, fuck me... oh yes...”

“Please... please... Fuck me harder!”

He froze. It’s his wife’s voice.

“Yes, moan for me, you slut. That's it.”

This couldn't be real.

Hearing the gradually approaching panting sounds from the bedroom, Jeffery was furious to the extreme and was about to break in.

Every time Jeffery wants to get intimate with her, she always makes excuses to avoid it!

He wanted to see for himself which man was making his wife moan like a slut!

Just as he was about to step into the bedroom, Cora's satisfied voice drifted out from the bedroom which made him halt his steps.

“So, dear Adam…”

"How is my promotion going?"

"Don't worry, my dear, getting you a promotion is just a matter of my word."

“I am the heir to the Whitmore industries and my father would listen to me.”

Jeffery realized who that man was.

It’s him!

Adam Luke! His wife’s boss!

The notorious playboy extraordinaire who had a bad reputation for seducing his father's female employees, chasing women and even forcing his girlfriends to have abortions.

Simply put, Adam Luke was a despicable man.

Jeffery stopped at the door.

It seemed she hooked up with her boss just for the sake of a promotion.

Jeffrey's fists tightened as he swore under his breath, trying to listen in on the conversation.

“You’re so sweet.” She whispered.

“You're a true man, he could never make me as satisfied as you make me.”

“Bitch.” Jeffery cursed, gripping the door frame until his knuckles were white.

Adam laughed smugly.

"Interesting that your husband has been cuckolded, that's really tragic."

"What's wrong, do you feel sorry for him?" Cora asked.

"Feel sorry for him my ass!" Adam laughed, "I'm just a bit regretful that he didn't get to see you in that seductive state under me."

"Alright, stop talking about it!"

"Am I making you feel sorry for him? Well, after all, you two were together for five years..."

"What nonsense are you talking about, he's a loser, why would I feel sorry for him!" Cora said disdainfully.

Outside the door, Jeffrey heard this and his breath quickened, his face turned bright red, and his eyes almost seemed to spit fire.

“I will divorce him soon, and we will start a real life together. Just you and me. I love you.”

Jeffery was stunned.

She was already planning to leave him?

There was a few seconds of silence inside.

“We will, Cora. I love you, too.” Adam said slowly.

Jeffery realized Adam just wanted to have fun with Cora and didn't want to marry her.

“Yes!” she continued, “I mean, look at him—stuck in that miserable job, never getting anywhere. I deserve so much better.”

How could she talk about him like this?

“I’ve waited so long for a man like you, Adam. I’m done pretending with Jeffrey. I want a real life with you.”

Cora’s voice turned softer.

“I’ve had enough of that fatherless piece of shit. Honestly, he’s a spineless, good-for-nothing parasite. He’s lucky I even gave him the time of day. He’s a stain on my past.”

They both burst into laughter.

Jeffrey’s hand clenched into a fist. He couldn’t hold it back anymore.

“Enough!” he shouted.

Without thinking, he kicked out the door.

“You son of a bitch!”

He had to make her a changed person. And though he had lived with her, knowing fully well that she can never change, he still held hope that she would. After all, she had lost everything. It would be meaningless still seeking revenge against him. If anyone should seek revenge, it should be him. But he was all done with that for a long pe

Although they had seen how powerful he had become earlier, they were still worried. They couldn't help but fear that Serah would defeat him.But when they saw him, their jaws dropped in awe. It hadn't been even up to five minutes when he told them to leave the factory. And now he was out of it."Is she... dead?" Stacy asked."Yes," Jeffery replied. His Qi still radiated like a storm contained within his body, though now it was calm, controlled and protective. He hovered above the ground for a moment, surveying their injuries. Jane's clothes were torn, her face streaked with blood and dirt. Stacy on the other hand shivered, her hands raw from being bound.Outside, the night air felt like a cold balm. Jeffery had being a master level alchemist a few moments ago. How was he then a grandmaster right now? It made no sense!"You..." She grit her teeth. "You've advanced, haven't you?"Jeffery smiled. "That's right. I wouldn't have been able to arrive here by being just a master. You asked the right question."Serah clenched her fists, her worst nightmare becoming reality. It was the Philosopher's Stone. It had to be. She had much underestimated the stone that she hadn't bothered to take it away from Jeffery

Jeffery Flamel drifted through the streets in a blur. His movement was swift and unrestricted, defying gravity. He was moving even faster than the wind, something he wouldn't have been able to achieve as a master. If he had been extraordinarily fast in the past, now he was divinely so.He continued to follow the Qi signatures of Jane and Stacy till he arrived at a part of the city. There, on the asphalt road, was the black car Jane had arrived in. It was badly damaged, standing beside a streetlight which had already crumbled badly. He frowned when he saw this, "Cora caught up with them. They were captured by those men."He didn't need anyone to tell him what had happened. And if Jane and Stacy had been captured, then they were in grave danger this time. Instead, he would find a way to twist it.He couldn't allow the evidence to fall into the

He was no longer hopeless. He had realized that there was light at the end of the tunnel. He closed his eyes, concentrating despite the agonizing pain. The footsteps and voices of the cops were getting closer, but he didn't care. He didn't care about anything in the world right now. He had cleared his mind of anything that would affect his concentration."Right now," Lukas' voices echoed within his mind, "you want to live... you want to save everything that matters to you. But you still fear pain. You want salvation... but you cling to the Stone. You want control... but you refuse responsibility."This is it, he thought calmly. This is the key to everything. The key to ending it all...Suddenly something cracked somewhere. It seemed distant but the echoes around him suggested otherwise. It didn't
