The man turned his head with slight annoyance because his words had been cut off by someone else’s appearance. But when his gaze met the figure of the teenager behind him, his body immediately stiffened for no clear reason.

Just a kid, yet his gaze made the hairs on the back of his neck stand.

Even so, his ego as an adult man still made him speak, his tone somewhat rough. “What are you doing, huh? Get lost!”

Kieran didn’t answer. He shifted his gaze toward his mother.

“I—Kieran…?” Irene’s voice

Ron walked slightly ahead, his steps not as fast as usual. His shoulders looked stiff, and occasionally he glanced back, making sure Kieran was still following him.Kieran clearly noticed his hesitation, but he said nothing.Their steps turned into several narrow alleys, passing through streets that were beginning to grow quiet as school hours were nearing their end. After a few minutes, Ron finally stopped.“Here,” he said softly.Kieran shifted his gaze to the empty surroundings. There was no one. Just dull walls, some trash in the corner, and footprints that were difficult to tell whether they were still fresh or not.“This is the place?”Ron nodded in response, but he still didn't dare to look up.Kieran narrowed his eyes slightly, then asked again, “Where are they?”“Don’t know… maybe they’ve already left.”Ron’s tone sounded uncertain, more than that, there was also concealment in it.Kieran didn't know what the boy was hiding, but he remained silent for a few seconds. His eyes

Riel looked at Kieran for a few seconds longer. That sentence made the corner of Riel’s jaw tighten slightly. He did not make a scene. He did not raise his hand or his voice. But he did not completely hide his emotions either, which were clearly visible in his gaze that had begun to turn cold.“You’d better not be playing around,” Riel said quietly. His tone was low, but there was a faint pressure woven into it.Several people in the room unconsciously held their breath. A tone like that was not something to be taken lightly. However, Kieran did not react as they expected. Instead, he tilted his head slightly, looked at Riel calmly, and asked back, “Didn’t you come here for something else?”“As far as I know, you were sent by your master to pick something up. So… what does that have to do with me?”His tone was flat, but sharp. Kieran’s gaze did not shift even slightly.“Unless…” he continued slowly, the corner of his lips lifting faintly, “you came here specifically for me.”The sent

Kieran didn't return to school. Instead, his steps turned away from the school area without hesitation. It was still far from dismissal time, and sitting idly in class was clearly not something he wanted to do right now.His destination was Black Spine Market. As he walked, his mind became active again, and he asked the system, “How many points did I get this time?”He didn't look around, his steps remained relaxed, as if he were simply wandering aimlessly. However, the system’s cold voice immediately appeared.[Side mission, elimination of Boss Lee has not been completed.]Kieran’s steps didn't stop, but his brows furrowed slightly.“Not completed?” he repeated. “Didn’t I already replace his position?”He slipped his hand into his hoodie pocket, his tone flat, but clearly disagreeing.[Host has indeed replaced the target’s position as gang leader. However, the target’s influence has not completely disappeared.][Some members who left are still loyal to the target. Additionally, the p

Marsellus chuckled softly, shaking his head slightly, as if he had just found something amusing.“Fine. Fifty.”The decision came just like that, without prolonged negotiation. Because he knew that if he pushed too far, he might lose this source, and that wasn't a smart choice. After all, he had already experienced Kieran’s results firsthand.“As a sign of commitment,” Marsellus continued, taking out a black card from his suit. He placed it on the table, then slid it toward Kieran.“Consider this an advance for the first batch.”Kieran glanced at the card briefly before taking it, turning it once between his fingers, then putting it away without comment. There was no thanks or surprised expression, as if it was something normal for him.And that, instead, made Marsellus even more certain of something. The agreement was reached, and the conversation shifted.“Boss Lee will be released in a few days,” Marsellus said lightly. He glanced at Kieran briefly, his gaze flat and hard to read.

Marsellus didn't answer immediately. His gaze met Kieran’s, and he remained silent for a few seconds longer. Not out of hesitation, but consideration. Then, a faint smile curved his lips. Not a friendly smile, let alone as free as before. His voice remained as smooth as ever, but clearly more alive than before as he praised Kieran, saying, “A good question.”He stepped forward, causing the four people who had been blocking him to unconsciously tense and instinctively want to block him again as he faced Kieran directly. After all, Kieran was their new boss, so they treated him the same way they had been trained under Boss Lee, protecting him.But they didn't dare stop Marsellus, who held a higher position than Boss Lee.Marsellus stopped not far from Kieran.“If I say I’m here as the former boss, will you really have them throw me out?”His gaze locked onto Kieran. Clearly, it wasn't an ordinary question, but neither was it a test like before. It could be said he asked it deliberately.

Marsellus sat in a quiet, tightly sealed private room. The walls were lined with dark wooden panels, and the table in the middle was neatly arranged with several documents and antique catalogs that had yet to be discussed. However, the seat across from him was empty. It had been nearly half an hour past the agreed time, yet there was still no sign of the other party’s arrival.Marsellus closed his phone screen after the call with Kieran ended. He gave a faint smile, not a friendly one, but one that was hard to read.“It seems today my problem revolves around ‘waiting’,” he murmured softly. His bodyguard and aide, a well-dressed man standing not far behind him, remained silent.Marsellus adjusted his sleeve slightly, then said casually, “We’re going to the base now.”“Yes, sir.”Without waiting any longer, Marsellus stood up and walked out of the private room. But after only a few steps into the corridor, someone hurriedly approached.A woman in formal attire, known to be the secretary
