Chapter 1: The First Glimpse of Shame
The lecture hall hummed with the typical cacophony of a Monday morning—the screech of chair legs against linoleum, the rapid-fire tapping of keyboards, and the low, muffled gossip of students who had clearly spent more time on social media than their readings. Dimas stood at the back of the room, clutching his satchel like a shield. His gaze was locked on the third row, where Irina sat. She was currently looking at her phone, her expression a mask of indifference that made Dimas’s stomach perform a slow, sickening roll. "Hey, don't just stand there staring like a creep, man," his friend Leo whispered, nudging Dimas in the ribs. "Just walk over there and say something. She’s literally right there." Dimas adjusted his glasses, his palms slick with cold sweat. "It’s not that simple, Leo. Look at her. She looks like she’s about to file a restraining order just because I’m breathing in her general direction." Leo rolled his eyes, shoving Dimas forward. "You’re overthinking it. Just go. It’s just an introduction. 'Hey, I’m Dimas, noticed you in Bio last week.' See? Easy." "Easy for you to say. You don’t have a history of tripping over flat surfaces." "Just go, for the love of God." Dimas took a shaky breath. He smoothed his shirt, felt the dampness of his skin, and stepped into the aisle. His heart was a frantic drum against his ribs. He counted his steps. One. Two. Three. He had a plan. He’d walk down the aisle, make a casual remark, and maybe—just maybe—she wouldn't think he was a complete loser. He kept his eyes on Irina. She looked up just as he neared the fourth row, her brow arching in that way that made him feel like a bug under a microscope. "Are you lost, or are you just pacing?" Irina asked, her voice dry and perfectly audible over the low chatter of the room. Dimas stopped, his face flushing a violent shade of red. "Uh, no. Not lost. I just—I wanted to say hi. I’m Dimas. We’re in the same lecture." Irina didn't look impressed. She shifted her bag off the empty chair next to her, but her eyes remained cold. "I know who you are, Dimas. You sit in the back and stare at the wall. Was there a point to this, or are you just bored?" "I, uh..." Dimas fumbled, his brain stuttering to a halt. "I just thought maybe we could—" His foot caught the thick, black power cord trailing from the instructor's laptop setup near the edge of the row. It wasn't just a trip; it was a total loss of physics. His momentum, combined with his sheer panic, sent him pitching forward with the grace of a falling tree. "Whoa!" someone shouted. Dimas’s arms windmilled. He felt the sickening sensation of air rushing past him, the absolute certainty of his impending impact with the linoleum. He crashed down, his shoulder slamming into the desk, sending a stack of notebooks sliding across the floor. The sound was like a gunshot in the quiet room. Silence swept through the lecture hall like a wave, followed instantly by the sharp, biting sound of suppressed giggles. Dimas lay there for a second, his face burning, wishing the floor would simply swallow him whole. "Nice move," Irina remarked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She didn't offer a hand. She just leaned back, watching him scramble to regain his dignity. "You okay, or are you looking for loose change under the desks?" "I’m fine," Dimas choked out, his voice cracking. "Just... an accident." "Clearly," she replied, picking up her phone again. "A bit clumsy for a Monday, don't you think?" Dimas pushed himself up, his head spinning. The humiliation felt physical, a heavy weight pressing down on his lungs. He could hear the whispers starting. Did you see that? What a loser. The shame was so sharp it felt like a static charge building up behind his eyes. He stood up, intending to flee the room, but then, the world tilted. A sharp, icy spike of pain shot through his temples, radiating behind his eyes. The room seemed to dim, the lighting shifting into a strange, monochromatic gray. System Initializing, a voice echoed in his head—not a voice he heard with his ears, but one that resonated directly against his brain. Social rejection threshold exceeded. Initiating survival override. "Dimas? You look like you're about to pass out," Irina said, her voice sounding oddly distant, as if she were speaking through a long pipe. He couldn't answer. The pain reached a crescendo, a blinding flash of red light searing his vision. His heart hammered in a rhythm that wasn't his own—too fast, too powerful, an engine revving up. "Dimas?" Irina dropped her phone, her dismissive tone finally cracking to reveal a sliver of genuine alarm. She stood up, her hand hovering halfway toward him. "Are you... why are your eyes...?" Dimas gripped the edge of the desk, his knuckles turning white. He felt a strange heat pouring into his limbs, an unnatural strength coursing through his veins. He looked up, catching his reflection in the darkened screen of a nearby laptop. His pupils were gone, replaced by a swirling, bioluminescent crimson that seemed to pulse in time with his erratic heartbeat. "What did you do?" Irina whispered, her eyes widening. She backed away a step, her hand going to her throat. She wasn't looking at him with pity anymore. She was looking at him with intense, cold suspicion—the look of a predator who had just realized the prey was something entirely different. "I didn't..." Dimas began, his voice sounding deeper, distorted, vibrating with a metallic undertone that made the nearby students flinch. He looked at his hands, watching the faint, red veins glowing beneath his skin. "Stay away," Irina breathed, her voice trembling. "What are you?" Dimas felt the system command lock into place, a cold, calculated logic replacing his fear. He looked at her, his vision highlighting her heart rate, her sweat levels, the exact speed at which she was preparing to run. "I'm just a student, Irina," Dimas said, his voice flat, emotionless. "At least, I was." The lecture hall had gone completely still. Everyone was staring, their faces pale, their eyes fixed on the glowing, hellish red of his gaze. The social hierarchy of the room had shattered in an instant, and for the first time in his life, Dimas didn't feel the need to look down.

The Embarrassment Evolution Chapter 10: The Forbidden Room
The passage behind the wall was a throat of concrete and shivering shadow. Dimas stepped inside, his boots clicking hollowly against a floor that felt less like theater storage and more like the interior of a submarine. The air tasted of ozone and copper, an electric tang that made the hair on his arms stand straight."Okay," he whispered, his voice sounding thin and alien in the darkness. "This is fine. This is totally normal."System Alert: Energy signature detected. Proximity: Three meters. Warning: Unknown source. He moved forward, his hand trailing against the wall. The texture was cold, slick with a residue that felt like dried gel. As he walked, his vision glitched, the HUD in his mind flickering as if the air itself was trying to scramble his connection to the System. He didn't have to look down to see that the glowing green patch on his nose had flared into a bright, pulsing neon. It was acting like a lantern, casting long, wavering shadows against the stone."You’re a freak,

The hallway seemed to stretch infinitely, a tunnel of fluorescent lights that hummed in discord with the static currently flooding Dimas’s brain. His nose—the source of that neon, lime-green glow—felt like a beacon in the night."Dimas, hold up! Are your legs suddenly made of lead or are you just playing hard to get?" Irina’s voice echoed off the linoleum, sharp and insistent. Her footsteps were rapid, a staccato rhythm that signaled she had no intention of letting him vanish."Just leave it, Irina! Don't you have a psych paper or something?" Dimas didn't look back. He rounded the corner, his pace bordering on a jog. His heart was hammering a frantic, uneven beat."Psych paper? You’re joking, right? My interest in human behavior just skyrocketed to the top of my priority list," she called out, catching up just enough to grab his sleeve. He yanked his arm away, his muscles rippling beneath the janitor’s jacket."You don't want to see this. Seriously, my skin is—it’s doing things. Weird

The Embarrassment Evolution Chapter 8: Irina's Curiosity
The door to the locker room gave way with a sickening crack, splinters of wood showering the concrete floor like confetti. Tyler stepped through the frame, his face flushed with the kind of smug, unchecked arrogance that usually came with a varsity jacket and a lack of consequences. His two shadows followed close behind, their eyes wide and roaming, searching for the "freak show" they had been promised.Dimas stood in the center of the room, the janitor’s jacket hanging off his frame like a child’s costume. He didn't flinch. He didn't back away. He didn't even blink."Well, look at this," Tyler sneered, scanning the room. "The locker room gym rat. You think you can just hide in here, Dimas? You think the janitor’s closet wasn't enough of a stage for you?"Irina stood near the showers, her hands tucked into the pockets of her jeans. She watched the scene unfold with a detached, chilling focus, as if she were a scientist observing a particularly volatile chemical reaction."Tyler, take

The Embarrassment Evolution Chapter 7: Muscle Bound Failure
The hallway outside the gym felt less like a sanctuary and more like a pressure cooker waiting to blow. Dimas leaned heavily against the lockers, his breath coming in ragged, painful hitches as the sensation of his anatomy restructuring itself continued to burn through his limbs."Dimas? You're actually, literally, growing," Irina said, her voice strained. She paced in a tight circle, her eyes darting between him and the long, vacant stretch of the corridor. "Your shirt. Look at the seams. They’re splitting."Dimas looked down. The fabric of his flannel, which had fit him perfectly that morning, was pulling taut across his chest and shoulders. The stitches around his bicep groaned, a high-pitched protest of thread failing under the pressure of expanding, dense muscle."I can't—" Dimas gritted his teeth, his jaw working as if he were trying to chew through iron. "I can't go back in there. I can't let them see this. I’m already the guy who fell into the pasta. If I start ripping through
