The sterile white walls of the hospital hallway seemed to stretch endlessly as Ali and Malik stood outside Laith’s room, waiting for the doctor’s verdict. The air was thick with tension, their clothes still dusty from the fight. Moments later, the doctor stepped out, adjusting his glasses as he delivered the news.

“He has a broken rib,” the doctor said calmly. “It’s not severe, but it will take anywhere from two to six weeks to heal properly. He needs rest—no strenuous activity.”

Ali nodded grimly, rubbing his own bruised side. Malik clenched his jaw but said nothing.

Not long after, hurried footsteps echoed down the hall. Hazim appeared, his face a mix of anger and worry. Hadi followed close behind, his usual composed demeanor slightly frayed at the edges.

“Where is he?” Hazim demanded, his voice sharp.

“Inside,” Malik said, gesturing to the room. “He’s awake.”

Hazim pushed past them and entered, his eyes immediately locking onto Laith, who was propped up on the hospital

His friends, who had been anxiously waiting, spotted him and immediately rushed forward. "There you are!" Fadi exclaimed, clapping him on the shoulder. "We were starting to worry." Karim crossed his arms, eyeing the box in Ali’s hands. "What’s that? Did you find something down there?" Ali glanced at the ornate box, his fingers tracing its intricate carvings. "I’m not sure yet," he admitted. Karim leaned in, curiosity lighting up his face. "Well, open it already!" With a deep breath, Ali lifted the lid. Inside lay an ancient scroll, its edges slightly frayed with age. Carefully, he unrolled the parchment, revealing strange symbols and markings. Fadi frowned. "What does it say? It looks like some kind of old language." Ali’s eyes scanned the text, and to his surprise, the words made sense. He began reading aloud, his voice steady despite

Ali, Karim and Fadi burst through the school's front doors, herding the frightened children into the moonlit courtyard. The cool night air did little to calm their racing hearts as they moved the group toward the gates."Keep moving, stay together!" Karim called, ushering the younger boys forward.Ali's boots suddenly crunched on loose dirt. He stopped short, holding up a hand. "Wait." His sharp eyes scanned the courtyard - dozens of gaping holes, each about three feet wide, pockmarked the grounds like some monstrous mole had gone berserk."Fadi, look at this," Ali crouched by the nearest pit, running fingers along the jagged edges. The earth looked freshly turned, claw marks visible in the soil. One of the older students approached Ali and said. "They... they made those. The wolf-ghouls, we don't know why but they were digging."Fadi's brow furrowed. "Why would ghouls dig holes? They're hunters, not miners."Karim placed a steadying hand on a trembling boy's shoulder. "Did you see wh

Ali slumped on the couch, his brow furrowed as the familiar weight of frustration settled over him. The air in the house felt heavy, thick with unspoken tension. His father, arms crossed, stood in front of him. "It's been months, Ali. Months without a job! I paid for your courses, certificates, so much money! And for what?"Ali sighed, he's been hearing this everyday now, he was growing tired of hearing the same lecture. "I’m trying. It’s not my fault the country’s drowning in unemployment."His mother, stirring a pot in the kitchen, scoffed. " Your cousin Ahmad just finished medical school. he already has a job at the hospital."Ali’s patience snapped. "I don’t care about my cousin! Why can’t you be proud of me? I’m a knight! I protect people, I protect you from ghouls!" His mother slammed the spoon down. "Who said I wanted this? Fighting monsters? I never agreed to this nonsense!"Before the argument could escalate, the door burst open. Ali’s younger brothers, Sami and Sameer , c

The air was thick with the buzzing of wings and the hissing of serpents as Fahid, Mahmoud, and Ali stood back-to-back, surrounded by shifting, monstrous forms. The ghouls twisted into giant bees, scorpions, snakes, and snarling dogs, their eyes glowing with malevolence. Mahmoud tightened his grip on his emerald-green wooden sword, its surface shimmering with ancient energy. "They don’t give up, do they?" he muttered, eyeing a ghoul that had taken the form of a massive, venomous wasp. Ali spun his radiant blade, its golden light cutting through the unnatural darkness. "No, but neither do we," he replied, determination hardening his voice. Fahid smirked, electricity crackling along his azure sword. "Then let’s finish this." With a synchronized battle cry, the three warriors lunged forward. A ghoul in the shape of a monstrous bee dove at Ali, its stinger glistening with poison. He sidestepped, his light sword flashing in a swift arc, slicing the creature in half. It dissipated

The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and something foul, something alive. Ali, Laith, and Hassan crept forward, their weapons drawn, their breaths shallow. The entrance to the underground tunnel loomed before them, its darkness broken only by the flickering glow of Hassan’s flashlight. Laith wishpered "You sure this is the right place? Smells like something died in here… twice." Ali tightened his grip on his sword "This is where the tracks lead. Stay sharp." Hassan while checking his bullets said "If we’re lucky, we catch them off guard. If not… well, let’s just hope I don’t run out of bullets." They stepped inside, the crunch of loose stones beneath their boots echoing unnervingly in the narrow passage. The walls were lined with deep gouges, claw marks. Then, a sound scraping, digging, chittering. Laith mattered "Oh, that’s not creepy at all." Rounding a bend, they froze. Before them, a cavern stretched wide, its floor sunken into a massive pit. Ghouls, dozens

The abandoned mall stood like a a Haunted house in the heart of Ariha, its shattered windows and the smoke that filled the air, a remaining evidence of the catastrophe. The atmosphere was filled with something far worse than blood, it was decay, the kind that didn’t come from the dead but from things that refused to die. Hadi sent Ali, Malik, and Laith to help. Three days ago, the Knights of Ariha received a call from a worker in the mall, saying that he saw a group of ghouls in a warehouse. Soon, the ghouls flooded the mall, and chaos erupted. The Knights of Ariha went there immediately but were unable to eliminate the ghouls. There were too many of them, and they couldn’t find out where they were coming from. Malik tightened his grip on his blade as he, Ali, and Laith approached the barricade where the Knights of Ariha had set up their command post. The leader, Hassan, turned to greet them, his face streaked with dirt and exhaustion. "Took you long enough," Hassan muttered, wi

After the announcement of the Knights' Association, things grew quiet again. Ali and the others were unhappy that their efforts for peace had gone to waste, but there was nothing they could do. Soon after, the Association ordered the knight groups to film their battles and upload the footage to social media. At first, the knights rejected the proposal, insisting they were not influencers. However, the Association argued that in this day and age, it was necessary to maintain their public image. A strong social media presence, they claimed, would provide a platform to share their perspective and protect them against future defamation. The Knights of Nablus were the first to respond. With their vast numbers and dedicated supporters, their videos went viral almost overnight, turning them into global heroes. Seeing their success, the other groups soon followed their lead. The fish market was in chaos. Stalls were overturned, people screamed, and the stench of blood mixed with the s
