The car rolled to a stop, kicking up dust as Ali and his family arrived at the campsite. The air smelled of pine and charcoal, someone had already started a fire nearby. His relatives waved from their cabins, calling out greetings.

"Yalla, habibi, come help unload!" his father shouted, tossing him a backpack.

Ali forced a smile. The first hour was always the same: hugs, kisses, and fake pleasantries. His aunts pinched his cheeks, his uncles clapped him on the back, and everyone pretended they hadn’t spent the last year ignoring each other’s messages.

But Ali knew better. The moment the suitcases were unpacked, the real performance would begin.

Sure enough, before he could escape to the woods, his eldest aunt, Umm Mahmoud, snagged his wrist and pulled him onto the log beside her.

"Ya Habibi, why don't you visit me?" she cooed, her grip tightening. "Don’t you miss your fiancée? She asks about you!"

Ali stiffened. "Auntie, we’re not engaged. There’s nothing between us."

She wav

Exhausted and aching in every muscle, Ali dragged himself home after a brutal week of training with Hazim. The riverside camp had been merciless - cold nights, sparse meals, and relentless drills that left him barely standing. As they packed up, Hazim surveyed Ali's battered state with a cold expression. "Enough for now," Hazim said, tossing Ali his duffel bag. "Go home. Rest. When those wounds heal, we train again."Ali opened his mouth to protest, but Hazim was already walking away. "At least give me a ride!" Ali called after him.Hazim didn't break stride. "Public transport builds character," he called back over his shoulder before driving off in a cloud of dust.Ali muttered curses under his breath all the way to the bus stop. The next morning, sunlight stabbed through Ali's eyelids as his phone chimed. He groaned, rolling over to check the notification - an email from Al-Najjar Industries. His bloodshot eyes widened as he read: Dear Mr. Ali al Hadi, We are pleased to offer you

  • Chapter 84, The Weight of Strength.

The morning mist clung to the riverbank as Ali dragged himself from his bedroll, muscles screaming in protest from yesterday's beating. Hazim still slept, his breathing steady beneath his cloak. Every movement sent sharp jolts of pain through Ali's body, but he gritted his teeth and picked up his sword. If I can't even move through pain, I'll never survive a battle, I can't keep relying on the others when things get hard, I must change, I must become stronger. The forest was quiet, the only sound was the soft rush of the river and the occasional chirp of waking birds. Ali began with basic stances, forcing his aching limbs through the motions Hazim had drilled into him. Block. Step. Balance. His body protested, but he pushed through, each movement a little smoother than the last. Suddenly he heard a rustle in the bushes. Ali froze, his grip tightened on his sword. His pulse spiked. He felt like something was watching him. The leaves trembled again, then he heard something, it wa

The sun was shining on the training ground of the day, casting long shadows as Ali and Hazem stood facing each other, weapons in hand. The air was filled with the scent of earth and grass and the sound of flowinwater. Hazim adjusted his grip on his practice sword, his eyes sharp as he studied Ali. "Marwan is still the better teacher when it comes to hand-to-hand," he admitted, "but with weapons? No. He’s too reckless. I fear he might accidentally kill someone when his temper flares." He shook his head remembering how he stopped him one time from cutting Malik in half when Malik first joined them. "That’s why I forbade him from training others with weapons. But you? You’ve got potential. So I decided to train you myself." Ali nodded, tightening his hold on the wooden sword Hazim gave him. Hazim had checked Ali's weapons before, he carefully examined them , the look on his face was a mix of awe and confusion , and it showed in his in his voice. "In all my years of fighting… I’ve

Malik sat at his desk in the quiet classroom, grading papers with a tired sigh. The scratch of his pen was the only sound until Mahmoud, one of his failing students, who already knew his fate leaned forward, trying to distract him before his own paper came up. "Sir,"Mahmoud began, a mischievous glint in his eye, "how did you become one of the knights?"Malik didn’t even look up. "None of your business. Focus on your lessons.""But we already finished the lesson," Mahmoud pressed "You’re just grading now. What’s the harm in telling me?"Another student chimed in, grinning. "We follow Fadi on social media! There are so many cool videos of you fighting ghouls. The best one was when you took out ten at once with your giant fan!"Malik finally lifted his gaze, unamused. "If you don’t solve the problem I gave you before the bell rings, I’ll send you flying just like them."The class fell silent, except for Mahmoud, who refused to give up, he crossed his arms and said "I’m asking because I

Marwan handed the criminals over to the police, giving them a firm warning. "Keep an eye on the short blond guy," he said. "he’s not someone you can underestimate. He’s probably the mastermind behind all the trouble."With that, he climbed onto his bike and rode home, exhaustion weighing on him. But sleep brought no relief only the same disturbing dreams, leaving him restless and unable to find peace. The next day, Marwan was back in the training yard, his movements sharp despite the fatigue. Ali watched him for a moment before shaking his head."You’re seriously not normal," Ali said. "Yesterday, you came back from a tough mission in the desert, and today you’re training like it’s nothing? Don’t you ever get tired?"Marwan didn’t pause, his fists striking the heavy bag with steady rhythm. "Instead of standing there complaining,"he replied, "come train with me. I’ll teach you something useful."Ali hesitated. "I wish, but you look pissed off, like you just want to take it out on me

  • Chapter 80, The Oasis Showdown

The scorching sun beat down on the desert oasis, casting long shadows over the palm trees. A hot wind stirred the sand, whispering through the silence. In the center of the clearing, Marwan stood like a vengeful sentinel, his grip tight on the ropes binding the gang members. They knelt in the dirt, their faces a mix of defiance and fear. Behind them, the vast expanse of the desert stretched endlessly, a sea of gold under the merciless sky. The gang’s leader a towering brute with a scar running down his cheek glared up at Marwan. His voice was a low growl, laced with arrogance. "Don’t overestimate yourselves. Even if you arrest us, we’ll get out on bail like always."Marwan’s eyes darkened. He leaned in, his voice a blade of ice. "Shut up, or I’ll shut you up myself."* The giant fell silent, but his glare burned with unspoken threats. The tension in the air thickened, pressing down like a storm about to break. The smaller man, with sharp eyes that darted like a rat’s cleared
