The armored vehicle rumbled through the empty streets, the tension inside so thick it could be cut with a knife. Each member of the team sat in silence, lost in their own thoughts, their weapons checked and rechecked, their armors activated. The only sound was the hum of the engine and the occasional static crackle from the comms.

Then, out of nowhere, Laith burst out laughing.

The others turned to stare at him, confusion etched on their faces, except for Marwan, who shot him a look of pure disgust.

"Clown," Marwan muttered, shaking his head.

Ali frowned. "What is wrong with you?"

Laith wiped a tear from his eye, still chuckling. "I couldn’t help it! You all look like this is your first raid. So serious, so tense, relax! We’ve done this a hundred times."

Hadi, gripping the steering wheel, didn’t take his eyes off the road. "This isn’t like the other times. We’re not fighting ghouls or some new gang. We have no idea how big this group is or what they’re capable of. That’s w

The moment the mysterious woman's guns fired, Ali’s system screamed a warning in his ears. He twisted sharply, but not fast enough,a searing pain erupted in his side as one of the bullets grazed his ribs. His armor absorbed most of the impact, but the force still knocked him back a step. "You’re quick," Bella mused, circling him like a predator, her twin guns gleaming under the dim harbor lights. "But quick isn’t always enough." Ali didn’t respond. His visor flickered, analyzing her stance, her grip on the weapons, even the subtle shift in her weight before she moved. His system calculated probabilities, predicting her next attack before she even decided on it. She fired again, two shots, center mass. Ali dodged the first by a hair’s breadth, his reinforced gauntlet snapping up to deflect the second. The bullet ricocheted off the metal."You rely too much on that tech," she taunted, reloading with practiced ease. "What happens when it fails?" Ali smirked behind his helmet. "Le

  • Chapter 100, Harbor Showdown.

The docks were eerily silent as the Knights arrived, the only sounds the distant lapping of waves against the hulls of rusted cargo ships and the creak of old wood underfoot. The coordinates from the receipt had led them here to a maze of shipping containers and derelict vessels that stank of salt and diesel. Hadi signaled for the team to halt, his sharp eyes scanning the shadows. "They know we're coming," he muttered. Haitham adjusted his grip on his hammer, the weight familiar and reassuring. "Then we don't give them time to prepare." No sooner had the words left his mouth than the night erupted in gunfire. Muzzle flashes lit up the darkness as bullets tore through the air, forcing the Knights to scatter for cover. "Trap!"Ali shouted, ducking behind a stack of crates as rounds splintered the wood above his head. Marwan grinned, adrenaline surging through his veins. "About time things got interesting." From the deck of the largest ship, a figure stepped into view, his arm

The night air was tense as Hadi and the others crouched behind a cluster of abandoned shipping containers, their eyes fixed on the looming silhouette of the textile factory. The distant hum of machinery and the occasional flicker of movement through broken windows confirmed the place wasn’t as deserted as it seemed. Marwan shifted impatiently, his fingers drumming against the grip of his rifle. "We’re wasting time. Let me and Laith go ahead, we’ll scout and create an opening for the rest." Hadi shook his head, his voice firm. "We stick to the plan. We wait for Haitham." Ali, who had been silently monitoring his system, glanced up. "He’s here." A moment later, Haitham emerged from the shadows, his armor scuffed but his expression determined. "Shihab got away. He had backup waiting." Hadi’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t dwell on it. "We’ve got bigger problems. Malik and Laith scout ahead. See what we’re dealing with." The two nodded and slipped away, blending into the darknes

  • Chapter 98, The Duel.

The ruined street fell silent, the distant wail of sirens fading into the background as Haitham and Shihab circled each other, like two predators sizing up their prey. The air was filled with tension, thick enough to choke on. Haitham’s mind raced. "Shihab’s armor is new and modified. It is an unknown technology. I Can’t rush this." He kept his breathing steady, his stance balanced, waiting for an opening. Suddenly Shihab blinked out of existence. A fraction of a second later, Haitham’s instincts screamed. He twisted his body just as Shihab materialized behind him, a violet energy blade slashing through the space where his neck had been. The heat of the near-miss seared Haitham’s cheek as he barely dodged, rolling to the side and coming up in a defensive crouch. Shihab straightened, his sword humming with eerie purple light. "You're getting slow, Haitham. Age catching up to you?"Haitham didn’t respond. With a sharp motion, he unclipped the massive warhammer from his back. The

  • Chapter 96, Doing The Right Thing.

The evening sun cast golden hues through the curtains as Haitham stepped into his modest home, the familiar scent of jasmine and warm bread greeting him. His wife Aya was in the kitchen, humming softly as she prepared tea. The sound of his daughters’ laughter echoed from the living room, where they were sprawled on the floor, coloring in their notebooks with intense concentration. Haitham lingered in the doorway for a moment, watching them. The weight of the day’s decision pressed on his chest, but he forced a smile as he entered. "I need to prepare myself," he said quietly, leaning against the kitchen counter. "I’ll be taking a break from work. The Knights have an important mission, I have to join them." His wife's hands stilled for just a fraction of a second before she resumed pouring the tea. "We’ll talk about that later," she said, her voice steady but firm. "Right now, you need to change your clothes. We promised the girls we’d take them out tonight." Haitham hesitated,
