"you are kidding, right?" Marco muttered.
The saleswoman's expression changed from one of indifference to one of annoyance.
"Excuse me?" she turned to him fully.
Her lips formed a sneer and it took all his willpower for him not to flinch from her aggressiveness.
She seemed to be on the brink of arguing with him, but before he could say anything, a young girl rushed over to them.
"I'm so sorry, sir," the girl said, her voice filled with apology. "According to the rules of this shop, every client should have a salesgirl to serve them. I don't know why no one has served you yet, but I'll be happy to assist you."
"Really?" he asked with a raised brow.the girl blushed.
"yes sir."
"thank you," Marco said to the young girl.
He glared at the saleswoman with contempt in his eyes, the words he desperately wanted to say were stuck in his throat but he kept mute.
He didn't want to give the woman another reason to hate him and he didn't want to disappoint his mother either. She raised him well.
He made a move to follow the girl when he heard the saleswoman mumbling under her breath. "Why is a loser like him allowed to enter this luxury place?" her words stung Marco, and he felt a surge of anger rising within him.
He turned to her but the young girl prevented him from doing anything.
"Sir, please." she pleaded.
Marco nodded as he let it go.
As Marco walked away from the saleswoman, his anger boiled inside of him as he stumbled. He couldn't believe the audacity of the woman, He had never been so disrespected before.
He tried to push the anger down and remind himself that getting into an argument with the saleswoman would solve nothing. He took a deep breath and told himself to let it go.
As the young girl led Marco around the store, he couldn't help the smile on his face. He had been treated so kindly by the girl, even though he was still wearing old clothes.
He knew that he didn't look like the typical client of this store, and he appreciated the girl's willingness to help him.
As the saleswoman watched the two interact, she burned with anger because she felt that the girl was wasting time with Marco.
Despite his efforts to calm down, Marco couldn't shake off the feeling of anger and frustration. He was determined not to let the saleswoman's words define him, but it was easier said than done.
He walked past a mirror and caught a glimpse of himself. He couldn't help but wonder if the saleswoman was right if he did look like a "loser." He felt his face flush with embarrassment and quickly looked away.As Marco walked through the part of the store the girl showed him. his eyes were drawn to the rows of designer bags on display. He felt a spark of excitement as he approached the section, unsure of which one to choose. He picked up one bag and examined it closely, running his fingers over the smooth leather and admiring the intricate details.
it was pretty just like Reina.
He put it back and picked up another, and then another.
The salesgirl watched him patiently, offering to answer any questions he had about the products. Marco thanked her and continued to look around, trying to decide which bags he wanted to purchase.
"what do you think about this?" She asked him.
"I love the design and I think it will fit her perfectly," Marco answered."Well, the design is new and every girl would kill to have this bag, sir." "is that so?" Marco put a finger under his chin like he was deep in thought. He wanted to surprise Reina so badly but he needed to pick out a gift that she would love and that screams perfect if not the current design of a bag.
Girls love bags.
"I will take this." He said firmly.
The salesgirl looked at him with a hint of doubt in her eyes, but she didn't say anything and instead politely introduced him to every product.
Marco listened attentively, taking note of the features and benefits of each bag.
He glanced over at the saleswoman and felt nothing but irritation. he couldn't hide it. such people shouldn't be working here.
He wanted to use his power but that would be going too far, although she deserves it. Marco didn't think he had it in him.
He got distracted as he watched a fat man and the saleswoman at the cash register paying for their purchases, Marco felt the urge to do the same.
He wanted to show them that he was up to the task just like the fat man.
He walked over to the cashier to pay for the bag, but he was empty-handed, he could feel the eyes of the three people on him.
His neck prickled from their stares, it was so uncomfortable.
They were snickering and mocking him, clearly amused by the fact that he had come to pay without making a purchase.
"Look at this guy, must have been window shopping," the fat man sneered.
"Yeah, probably couldn't afford anything in here," the girl chimed in.
"Pathetic," the saleswoman added with a smirk.
Marco could feel the sting of their words, but he refused to let them see how much their words affected him.
He was almost used to the bullying and derogatory words from others. it was nothing new but it still hurt him that he was being treated this way for no reason at all.
He squared his shoulders, forced a smile on his face, and turned his back to them.
He wanted to prove to them that he was capable of making a significant purchase and that he was not to be underestimated.
He could still hear them whispering as he walked back to the salesgirl and spoke to her calmly.
"Excuse me, I changed my mind. I want to buy all those 10 bags I picked before," Marco said with a smile.
