And so, they made their way back to Kingsley's home. The journey was long and arduous, but they made it without incident, careful not to attract any unwanted attention.

Once they arrived, Merrick gestured for Adam to follow him into his study. The room was dimly lit, with heavy curtains drawn over the windows to keep out prying eyes. Merrick moved behind his desk and took a seat, while Adam settled into a plush armchair nearby.

Merrick poured them each a generous glass of scotch, and Adam took a sip, savoring the smoky flavor. He looked at Merrick expectantly, waiting for him to speak.

"I never wanted to go to Tyria," Merrick began, swirling the amber liquid in his glass. "As the head of the Kingsley family, it is my duty to stay here and protect my family legacy."
