The Vampire King Is Back

The stillness in the room remained with Eddie still having his head bent all the way down. Dr. Hayes didn't dare to breathe too fast.

Just then, a second generation heir walked out of the elevator. Dr. Hayes' eyes widened like he suddenly realized something.

"I think you got the wrong person, Mr. Morton. You made a mistake. The special guest who visited isn't a female but a male. This right here is—"

A crisp sound sounded then an even more eerie silence took place.

Dr. Hayes opened his eyes wide in surprise. Glancing between the second generation heir and Sister, he couldn't believe Eddie made such a mistake but in order not to get slapped again, he kept silent.

Eddie on the other hand, felt his heart in his mouth as he quickly bowed again. Here he was trying to clean up the mess Dr. Hayes had done as quietly as possible but the stupid man didn't seem to know when to talk and when not to.

"Please forgive my negligence. I'll deal with this matter as soon as possible." Eddie said, not daring to raise his head.

Sister shrugged with one shoulder. "I wasn't the one he wronged."

Eddie slowly raised his head and peered into Sister's face. The chilly smile on it sent a chill down his spine. Following her eyes, he settled on a pair who looked really unkempt.

A trace of disgust flashed past his eyes and he was about to ask the security to throw them out when he stopped. Recalling Dr. Hayes had pointed at the two and even mentioned Sister had come with him, he knew this was the person she was referring to.

As Eddie walked towards Adair, he wondered what was going on and why the Big Boss was dressed in such a way. In the end, he waved it off as a fanatic rich people had.

He also bowed knee-deep to Adair and stayed that way for several seconds before he raised back his head.

"I'm really sorry for the embarrassment this hospital has caused you. We will do anything in order to get your forgiveness." Said Eddie. He had connected the dots in his mind while bowing down.

Whoever was higher than Sister was an incredibly scary person and offending him wasn't the best thing to do. Other than cozying up to Sister, cozying up to this young man didn't seem like a bad thing.

Adair, who had no idea what he was thinking, simply looked towards Dr. Hayes who still couldn't believe the turn of events.

At the same time, he grew anxious. If Adair insists on getting him fired with the attitude of Eddie towards him, he'd really get fired. So he quickly stepped forward and even slung a hand across Adair's shoulder.

However, before he could say anything, Adair shrugged away his hand and said pointedly, "Not only did he embarrass a sick child, he also manhandled her. But making a bet and not keeping to it is worse than that if you ask me."

Without being told the details of the matter, Eddie immediately knew what was going on. Dr. Hayes had made a deal with Adair and it turned bad for him, now he was trying to shirk responsibility.

"What is the obligation he's supposed to do?" Eddie asked Adair.

"He will kowtow to me ten times and also tender a letter of resignation to the hospital." Adair answered, clearly ignoring Dr. Hayes' pleading eyes.

Eddie knew exactly what to do.

"Tender your resignation in ten minutes. It'll be much better than firing you and issuing a statement on Twitter about what you had done."

It sounded harsh but anyone could see Eddie was actually giving Dr. Hayes a way out. Adair frowned and Sister caught sight of this.

"I don't just want him out of this hospital. I want his license as a doctor revoked." Sister suddenly said, catching everyone's surprise.

"You fu.cking bit.ch!" The words were yet out of Dr. Hayes' mouth when he was hit a second time. This time, Dr. Hayes refused to stay silent and threw caution to the wind. "Who the he.ll is she to decide what happens to my medical qualifications? She's just a bit.ch who doesn't know—"

"Your medical license will be revoked and you'll cease being a doctor the moment you leave this hospital." Eddie said firmly, closing his eyes for a brief moment.

Eddie and Dr. Hayes weren't really that close but to an extent, Dr. Hayes considered him his friend.

"Kowtow ten times to him and do what he asked you to." Eddie said before another word came out of Dr. Hayes mouth. To others, he was being ruthless, but Eddie knew Dr. Hayes' life would be much worse if he said any other thing to anger sister or even the mysterious young man.

Seething with rage, Dr. Hayes shouldered the embarrassment and kowtowed ten times. None of those present were allowed to take a video of the scene since it was meant to be private.

When Dr. Hayes finished, a small bloody bump had come up on his head. He got up afterwards and rushed into a corridor.

Eddie breathed out a sigh of relief that everything had come to an end. Then he walked towards Sister and bent his head a little, "I'm sorry that you had to experience this."

Sister waved him aside, keeping her eyes on Adair, she asked, "Is there anything you think should've been done differently?"

"No." Adair shrugged and flashed an appreciative look at Eddie who had raised his head. Something about that smile was scary to Eddie which made him lower his head back.

Adair was speechless.

"I just love the way Mr. Morton handled the whole issue. I also love the fact you revoked his medical license. Having a man like that as a doctor is disastrous to a society." Adair told Eddie regardless.

"I'm glad you are impressed with me, Sir." Eddie replied, still not daring to raise his head.

This show of respect greatly wowed the spectators who couldn't believe their eyes.

Sister walked up to Adair and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Eddie, this is Adair Huxley."

"It's my pleasure to meet you, Mr. Huxley." Eddie replied.

Sister said nothing else.

Eddie raised his eyes slightly and they fell on Halsey who was curled up in Adair's arms staring up at him. The little girl who had been used to being shouted at by others, quickly buried her face in Adair's chest who tightened his grip on her.

"My sister is diagnosed with cancer. The hospital requested I bring 200 million before the surgery commences. I have it now and I wish for her to be treated as soon as possible."

A muscle in Eddie's jaw twitched upon hearing Adair. Before now, he would've looked down on Adair and asked another doctor to conduct the surgery, but now, he didn't dare.

"You don't have to worry, Mr. Huxley. This is on the hospital for the embarrassment you passed through today. We'll treat her for free." Eddie said and reached out to take Halsey but the little girl held Adair tighter.

"It's okay, Halsey. He won't hurt you. He'll get rid of the pain you've been feeling, okay?" Adair coaxed, his blank expression quickly getting replaced by a gentle one.

Although it took more than that to get her to trust Eddie but eventually, she gave in.

The surgery soon commenced and Adair sat on a chair.

"Thank you for helping out today. I really appreciate." Adair said to Sister who sat next to him.

Sister shrugged, "It's what's required of me."

She didn't elaborate, and neither did he ask her to but he was glad he could get to treat his sister and still keep the money in his account.

Just thinking of how it'd transform his and his sister's life made him extremely happy.

The surgery lasted for ten hours but at 11pm, Adiar suddenly held his head and plummeted to the floor.

He seemed to hold in a scream as he kept writhing on the floor. Thankfully, most people had gone home and the few around had fallen asleep on the hospital chairs.

Sister squatted beside him, her eyes glistening in excitement. She knew exactly why this was happening.

After what seemed like an eternity but had just been thirty minutes, Adair raised his head, the air around him changing as well.

"Sister?" He called in surprise when he sat back on the chair, "How long has it been?"

"Three years."

"It's surprisingly not a long time." Adair smiled creepily.

...

A photographer who loved taking pictures of the night didn't miss what happened in the sky when the clock struck 11.

It had only been for a few seconds but he was fast enough to capture it with his camera. The camera exploded when the picture was made by him on Twitter and astrologers took it up.

A bloody moon hasn't appeared in a long long time.

"Hello, stranger." Collette heard as she picked up an apple. She didn't need to turn around to confirm who it was. "If you hadn't shown up, I'd have been left with no choice than to believe that you have a conscience." Collette smiled, her back still turned to Hannah. "Conscience?" Hannah scoffed and walked to the shelf housing the apples. "I wasn't in a very good place when I put you in a coma which unfortunately lasted for seven years. In those seven years, Adair hasn't been much of a good ex-lover and he's been hurting. Staying out of sight and reach was the only way to guarantee my safety and that of my brother's." "Ah, I see." Collette smiled, then turned to face Hannah squarely, "My mom has absolutely no idea that her daughter was in coma for seven years. But she's throwing a feast for her return to Crest Ville after seven years of traveling the world. And everyone's invited. Even her enemies aren't left out." "Strange. Your mother doesn't strike me like such a magnanimous w

The elevator opened to reveal a couple making out in it. They quickly composed themselves and lowered their heads in embarrassment when they saw her. The girl smiled and placed leaned on the elevator, closing her ears as she listened to the soft sound made by the elevator as it headed up. After three minutes, the elevator slid open, and she walked out of it, what looked like a school bag, slung across her shoulder. Behind her, the couple in the elevator couldn't help poking out their head in both surprise and awe just before the doors of the elevator closed again and sent them back. This was because no one apart from the family of the person on this floor was allowed up. And it was no news that the family of this person who occupied the whole floor owned the foundation. Collette Foundation. A found

  • I Can't Lose To Adair

Despite Tucker's threats, Adair didn't bother with him as he bent over and carried Benjamin in his arms. “Kill her.” Tucker spoke into his phone. However, he heard nothing from the owner of the phone. “I think he's dead.” A familiar voice sounded instead. “Jordan? Of course, you're alive, and Adair had everything contained as usual.” Tucker seethed angrily and quickly left the store. He hadn't gotten far when some men, who had their faces covered, walked up to him. Almost immediately, a van pulled in front of them, and he entered the van with them. Tucker hissed numerous times as he tried his best to contain the fact he lost to Adair once again. The van drove for over an hour before it stopped under a tunnel. Tucker alighted from the van and got into a black Lincoln which was parked just beside it. The Lincoln drove out afterward and headed straight to a seven-star hotel. “Why am I being summoned when I haven't done anything?” Tucker complained as soon as he walked into a privat

  • Have I Ever Told You How Desperate I Am To Kill You?

It took Adair precisely eleven minutes to get to where Tucker held Halsey and Benjamin hostage. He walked in on Tucker spraying something on an unconscious Benjamin. But despite being unconscious, Benjamin would wince in pain whenever it touched him. “Don't you feel ashamed picking on someone lesser than you?” Adair mocked, making his presence known. His words didn't deter Tucker, who kept throwing the water at Benjamin. “Who said he's lesser than I? Someone who Adair Huxley calls father-in-law isn't lesser than me.” “That's that, but I still don't see how a man in his early forties is a threat to you who's more than a thousand years old.” Adair shrugged and found himself a chair to sit on. Tucker dropped the spray he held on the table and glanced above his shoulders to see Adair's cold eyes. “Those cold eyes. Why does it seem like you turned off your emotions?” Tucker asked in surprise. He was yet to hear the news about Collette getting into an accident, since Adair's men were

  • Adair Only Cares About Collette

“No!” Zane yelled and got up to his feet as soon as possible. However, Sharon didn't fall like he expected because someone else had taken the bullet for her. “Grab her and get out of here.” Jordan hissed, as he dug his claws into his chest and pulled out the bullet lodged in it. Tucker raised his brow before flinging the gun away. “Jordan Hale. It's been a long time.” “I hoped you'd be dead by this time of the year. What a pity that good people die early, while bad people live the longest.” Jordan said in spite. “True. That's why you, Adair, Hannah and I have lived this long.” Tucker chuckled. He had better things to do, such as torturing someone with the name Benjamin Pitt, so he didn't want to waste time with Jordan. Without another word, he rushed towards Jordan and grabbed him violently by the neck, then threw him hard against the wall. Cobweb-like cracks appeared in the spot where Jordan came in contact with. The temporary pain didn't deter him, as Jordan got up almost imme

  • The Attacker Gets Attacked

Adair and Hannah stared at each other for a long time. Then she lowered her head to her phone and increased its volume. “A few minutes ago, there was a ghastly accident which involved a drunk driver and a beautiful young woman. It's revealed that she bears the name Collette Huxley and is married to the multi-billionaire, Adair Huxley. This happened along…" The reporter's words were drowned out as soon as Adair's phone which was beside him rang out. “Hold on, I think I forgot to say I also compelled the driver to ram into her, then hand himself over to the police afterward. Don't you think I have a great sense of justice?” Hannah giggled. Adair reached for his phone and went numb when he saw it was a call from Collette. He first exhaled in relief when he realized Hannah was just messing with him. “Wife, are you alright?” He asked anxiously as soon as he answered the call. “This is Garrison Hospital, is this Adair Huxley, Collette Huxley's husband?” An unfamiliar voice asked inst
