The five thugs were even more enraged after hearing Adam's questioning words, which in turn challenged them.

"But, before the fun begins, I'd like to ask you a question." Adam looked very calm, even though he was masking his fear and nervousness.

Adam was still confused about his powers, which sometimes appeared and sometimes disappeared. There was a feeling that his powers were unreliable in many circumstances.

"What do you want to ask?" asked one of the thugs.

"Why are you doing this?" Adam said in a tone trying to hold back his emotions. "What do you want from me?"

Getting a question that sounded stupid to the five thugs made them laugh out loud.

"We've been sent by someone to reprimand you, Adam," said the leader with a cynical face. "The man who sent us said that he never got a share of the family's rich inheritance."

At that, Adam smiled bitterly. He knew who was behind all this.
