A Book In A Cage

For some reason, Rin was feeling the place to be familiar which was quite weird because he had no memory of visiting this place earlier.

The thought of that was more than enough to make him shocked.

The area around the old museum was also creepy enough to scare anyone who dared to even walk around it.

That was the same for Rin too. He too was scared right now but his legs forbade him from running away from here.

Instead, it felt as if he was attracted to the mansion.

He subconsciously ended up entering the museum that was right in front of him after slowly opening the gate.

Then he walked towards the door of the museum and opened it right after which he ended up entering the mansion.

Just when he placed his foot inside the mansion, it started to thunder outside.

Suddenly it got too dark as if it was going to rain.

"Huh...? What just..."

Rin regained his senses after hearing the sound of the thundering and the lightning.

He looked here and there only to confirm that he was inside the museum which he was staring at just a while ago but the most shocking thing was he didn't even recall how he got inside.

Probably he had spaced out but it was too weird for him to perform all these actions.

He could see many ancient statues and items that were placed in the mansion.

"Wait... this isn't scary..."

When he looked at them carefully, he concluded that they were looking better than they look which the museum had from the outside.

It wasn't well lit but despite that, he was able to see them properly thanks to his extraordinary vision which he had since he was a child.

For some reason, he was able to see in the dark in a much better way than during the day, but he never disclosed it to anyone since that was without a doubt weird.

'Wow... the skeletons, and these spear-like weapons...'

He was completely awed by so many different types of weapons that were present from the Stone age.

The left-out bones of the dinosaurs also fascinated him.

The fact that he was inside a dangerous and scary museum had slipped from his mind. Thus he kept on looking for many more things that were present inside.

It seemed as if he was having fun in the mansion where everyone feared to even get close to it.

He kept on walking and looking at things when all of a sudden he ended up reaching a weird room that was present just next to the first area which he had ventured right now.

He just stepped into that room since the door was open earlier.

That room wasn't empty completely, but it did seem spacious.

Regardless, when Rin took a look at the entire area, all he could find were many bones that were placed there.

He slowly walked towards one of the bones and touched it slightly.

"This... this doesn't look like it's made up of wax...", he said in a low voice.

The feeling was indescribable. He felt as if the statue that he was touching was real and was alive until a second ago.

"I don't know why but each time I touch the statues, my heart starts racing!"

He could feel his heartbeat getting intensified and that was why he made that remark.

The moment he let go of the statue, his heartbeat became normal.

He thought it was just a coincidence, but it seemed like he figured out that it was something related to the statue that made his pulses rise.

'Tsk, what am I even doing here? I have to go home...'

He recalled the fact that he was on his way home and thus he started walking towards the same door via which he had entered.

'No, please don't go...'

"..."

Rin paused all of a sudden just before he could leave because he heard some strange voice as if it was trying to call out to him.

"What was that...?", he wondered while turning his gazes here and there.

He started to now walk back towards the central area of the museum because he felt that the voice had come from somewhere near the center area.

'Tap Tap Tap'

He didn't cease his steps and continued to walk when all of a sudden he stumbled upon a huge cage that was made up of glass.

Inside that, there was some book placed that was shining with red light.

It was probably the radiance of this very thing that was illuminating the area thanks to which he didn't have much of a problem looking at the path in which he was walking.

'Lub Dub Lub Dub'

His heart was beating too fast right now, probably faster than ever.

Of course, the same reaction was seen when he had touched the statues, but that didn't cause the heart to beat so fast that it would somewhat cause pain.

Right now, the increased heartbeat was hurting him a bit due to which he was in pain, but that didn't matter to him.

What was important right now was the book that was placed inside the glass boundaries.

'Just... what the heck is that?'

He knew just by looking at it that it was a book, but it had no idea about its abnormal power which was attracting him and causing him pain at the same time.

"Weird... too weird..."

Regardless of his remarks, he just walked towards the glass boundaries and ultimately touched it.

The moment he did that, the light from the book was intense as if it wanted to come out from the cage.

Rin looked here and there and ended up finding a weird switch that could lift or remove the glasses.

He walked towards it and pressed the button but there was no response.

He was now puzzled because he had no idea about the way to remove the glasses.

"Maybe this will...", he looked at a lever that was right beside the button.

He pulled it down but then again there was no difference.

"Sigh, maybe it's not working because most of the things are rusted..."
