A young man covered in sweat sighed as he pushed open the door of a house, panting heavily, his clothes drenched with sweat.

"It's been a long day," Logan muttered, pulling out a handkerchief to wipe away the sweat on his face.

He was just coming back from the hospital where he worked as an intern. Being the poor lad he was, he had no money to ride a taxi, so he could only sprint back, which was why he was covered in sweat.

"Isn't there anyone at home?" Logan, who was about to sit on the couch, suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked around.

First, the door of the house was not locked, which meant that someone was in the house. The only one who had the key to the house other than himself was his girlfriend, Alicia.

"Alicia!" Logan called, wanting to see if his girlfriend was nearby. He wasn't sure why she didn't come out when he had walked into the house.

But there was no answer. It was as though there was no one in the house. Frowning a bit, Logan made his way to the kitchen. Getting there, he didn't see his girlfriend, which made him rather worried.

Making his way to the room, he pushed open the door. The next moment, he froze as he couldn't believe his eyes.

Scattered on the floor were his girlfriend's clothes. Just right by the side was another cloth belonging to that of a man.

Instantly, blood rushed into Logan's head, clouding his thinking, but he didn't act rashly.

"Jake, I didn't expect you to be so good," a coquettish feminine voice sounded from the closed bathroom door, pulling Logan back to his senses.

"Jake..." Logan gritted his teeth, clenching his fist, wanting to break into the door to drag out the two cheating bastards.

He couldn't believe his girlfriend would cheat on him. They had been together for five years.

So all the promises she had made, never to see anyone behind his back, were all false.

Logan swallowed, his eyes becoming red as his nails dug into his flesh, and clenched his fist even tighter.

He wanted to storm into the bathroom and drag the two out. But after thinking for a moment, he shook his head, refusing to let the impulse of anger take over him.

There was no need for that. At least, he had to give them a little bit of face, even if that was the last thing he was going to do.

"I didn't expect you to be with that bastard for all these years." A hoarse male voice sounded just as Logan turned around, wanting to leave.

"Don't bring up that coward. He doesn't dare to do anything to me, though we've been together for five years." The feminine voice giggled.

"I wonder where his mother got him. He doesn't even have a father. I bet she must have been promiscuous; else, there's no way someone like her would have had him." The male voice chuckled.

Logan's expression changed upon hearing this. What the heck did Jake think he was saying?

His mother was a noblewoman. She was the daughter of a prestigious family; she was kicked out of the family when she got pregnant.

Since then, he and his mother have been living alone. Also, she never said a word about his father, and he never asked.

The last time he asked, it had caused his mother to be teary; since then, he vowed never to ask his father again. In his heart, he was dead.

"Though his mother is old, she's still a hot chick. I bet she wouldn't mind if I wanted to do a few things to her." The male voice continued.

"I..."

"How dare you speak of my mother that way!" Logan roared, interrupting Jake, rushing to the door of the bathroom, and pushing it open.

"Argh!" Alicia screamed, then rushed out of the bathroom to cover her body with a towel.

"How dare you insult my mother?" Logan was consumed with rage so much that he didn't care if the other party was naked.

"I will kill you!" he roared, grabbing Jake's neck.

"What can you do to me, huh?" he continued, pushing Logan away.

The difference in strength between the two was evident, as Logan was forced many meters backward immediately after he was pushed by the latter.

"I dare to insult your mother; what are you going to do, huh?" he scoffed, grabbing a towel and using it to cover his body before walking closer to Logan.

"I'll kill you!" Logan lost it all and rushed towards Jake.

"How dare you disrupt my nice time." Jake sneered, grabbing Logan's collar and pulling him closer.

In a flash, Logan was beaten to the floor. His face was swollen due to the beating from Jake.

Jake was far stronger than Logan, so the latter was no match for him, and he was beaten mercilessly.

"Next time, you know not to disturb me when I'm having fun." Jake spat at Logan, who was now groaning in pain as he coughed out blood.

"Jake, aren't you going too far?" Alicia rushed forward, pulling Jake back, seeing that he was about to continue hitting Logan.

"Are you pleading on his behalf?" Jake snorted, looking at Alicia.

"No, I'm not. I just feel he's not worth your time." Alicia grabbed Jake's hands, shaking her head.

"Let's just go," she continued.

"Trash!" Jake scoffed, picking up his clothes and dressing almost instantly.

"Next time you dare such, I'll send you to meet Hades," Jake threatened, stepping on Logan's hands as he walked out of the room.

"Arghh!" Logan screamed in pain as the sound of bones breaking filled the air.

"Idiot!" Jake spat, then left the room while hugging Alicia's waist.

At the moment, Logan was groaning in pain, trying to keep his consciousness, but it was impossible. Pain raked through his body.

"Splurt!" Unable to hold it any longer, he coughed out blood, staining the wooden bracelet in his hands as he lost consciousness.

The next moment, the wooden bracelet suddenly became active, absorbing the blood and glowing.
