Chapter 69: The Infected Seal

Morgana’s final attack had destabilized the creature, but her sacrifice had left her crushed among the ruins. Raiden’s heart squeezed as he observed her lifeless form, her hands still outstretched as though she were imploring her magic to cling on just a minute longer.

Draco circled above, his bright scales muted by the Sovereign’s stifling atmosphere. “Raiden, the Sovereign’s core is exposed, but its power is still immense. We have only one shot to clinch it, and it will require everything we have.”

Raiden adjusted his grasp on his sword, the runes along the blade shimmering faintly, as though they too were fatigued. “Everything we have,” he whispered. “I’ll give it.”

Kaela’s voice broke through the tumult as she loosed an arrow that destroyed a tendril mid-swing. “Raiden, don’t you dare get yourself killed. We’ve come too far for you to throw it all away now!”

He turned to her, flashing a weak smile. “I don’t plan to die, Kaela. But if it

Chapter 71: Return to the Clans The voyage back to the clans was a melancholy one. Raiden traveled in quiet, his mind repeating the events of the Forbidden Lands. The shattered seal. The Sovereign’s frightening growl. Morgana’s dubious fate. And then the vision—the dark figure with crimson eyes hinting of further destruction to come. Draco Maximus soared over the assemblage, his golden scales reflecting the waning light of the day. Kaela rode by Raiden’s side, her bow laying across her lap, her sharp eyes scanning the horizon. Behind them, Rurik carried the injured Myra, whose breathing had stabilized but remained shallow. The anxiety was tangible, and it only grew stronger when the towering gates of the Elthorn Clan’s citadel came into view. “They’ll want answers,” Kaela whispered, breaking the silence. Raiden nodded, his jaw clenching. “And they won’t like what they hear.” The council chamber was crowded with clan chiefs and their counselors, the air dense with tension

Chapter 70:Devils Beyond the Horizon The ground trembled furiously as fissures spread over the Forbidden Lands. The air was filled with the sound of cracking rock and the low, threatening buzz of unstable magic. The fragmented shards of the Ebon Seal pulsed faintly, its golden glow flickering like a dying ember against the oncoming shadows. Raiden struggled to his feet, his blade gleaming slightly as he stabilized himself. His breathing came in weak gasps, his body depleted from the battle with the Sovereign. Beside him, Draco hunkered low, his wings sheltering the group from falling debris. “Raiden,” Draco hissed, his voice strained. “The land is collapsing. We must leave now.” Raiden’s attention turned to Myra, who was unconscious a few feet away, her body beaten and bloodied. “We’re not leaving without her,” he stated firmly, sheathing his blade and hurrying to her side. Kaela and Rurik emerged from the ruins, their features pallid but resolute. “What’s happening?” Ka

Chapter 68: A Flicker Of Redemption Draco roared beside him, his wings flared, golden light flashing off his scales. “The Sovereign’s core is exposed, but its power is too vast. If we assault without weakening it, we’ll fail.” Raiden nodded, his eyes never leaving the horrible form. “Then we find another way.” A harsh chuckle rang from the shadows, as Morgana stumbled into view. Her once-imposing body was disheveled, her dark robes tattered and covered with blood. Dark threads of corrupted magic clung to her, her face pale as she lurched toward Raiden and Draco. “Morgana,” Raiden hissed, his voice steely as he raised his blade. “Wait,” she gasped, holding up a shaky hand. “I’m not here to fight you.” Kaela came from the wreckage, her bow drawn and pointed at Morgana. “You expect us to believe that after everything you’ve done?” Morgana’s gaze shifted to Kaela, her expression empty. “I don’t care what you believe. Giovanni betrayed me—he used me to shatter the barrier.

The air crackled with raw electricity, each pulse of the Sovereign’s power sending vibrations through the ground. Raiden stood strong, his golden blade shining against the smothering gloom. Draco hovered above, his golden wings piercing through the approaching shadows. His voice, low and steady, echoed in Raiden’s head. “Raiden, the seal’s corruption has tainted Giovanni completely. If we don’t act now, the Sovereign will claim him—and utilize him as its vessel.” Raiden gazed at the dragon, his countenance gloomy. “I’m trying, Draco, but his power is... it’s overwhelming. Every attack I make seems like it’s feeding the Sovereign.” Draco growled, a low, ancient sound that sent vibrations across the air. “Then we need something stronger. I will show you the way.” Raiden grimaced, his grip tightening on his blade. “What do you mean?” Draco landed hea

Every step was a battle against the weight of the Sovereign’s strength, which crushed down on him like a living force. Draco swooped overhead, his golden wings piercing through the dense, smoky air. “The Sovereign’s corruption is spreading quickly,” he warned, his voice booming in Raiden’s head. “If we don’t stop Giovanni, it will consume this land—and you with it.” Raiden’s jaw hardened as he pushed forward. Ahead, the shattered remains of the Ebon Seal flickered brightly, its split power seeping streams of shadow that snaked across the ruins. Standing at the heart of the destruction was Giovanni, his form silhouetted against the pulsing blackness. Giovanni turned as Raiden approached, his face seren
