As soon as they are in the sky again, Stephanie holds on to her dear husband's hand and begs him.

“Please, Roman, please, don't do this.” She begs with all her heart. “That house is where I grew up and honestly, Finna and her family showed us kindness sometimes. Right, Athena?”

Athena nods. “She gave us a cake that made us sick and we had to use the toilet for three days!”

Stephanie laughs nervously. “Well, the cake was laced with laxatives, but that was a joke. Finna jokes like that sometimes.”

Roman growls under his breath.

Carmen is actively communicating with the rest of the soldiers, and at this moment, he turns to his boss.

“Sir, the Beerson mansion has just been destroyed now. The Kent Mansion is going down in the next twenty minutes!”

“Wait!” Stephanie grabs his hand. “You can't do this, Roman. Stop it.”

“After everything that your family did, trust me this is me showing them mercy. I should throw them in jail too!”

She grabs his face and kisses his lips to calm him down. He has been her husband for seven years, and even though they have been apart for most of the time, she knows him very well.

“Do you love me?” She asks him in a very soothing voice.

“Of course I do, Stefanie. With all of my heart.” He replies.

“Then stop this immediately.” She says. “I know they did awful things and what not, but I don't want them to be without homes. Having slept in a doghouse for seven years, I know what it means to be homeless.”

Roman feels his throat tighten because he hasn't dealt with them to his heart's fullest, but his wife has asked him to stop, and he must.

One nod to Carmen, and the order gets to the right ears. “The boss has ordered for it to stop immediately!”

The call ends.

Stephanie shut her eyes in relief.

The truth is that she isn't only looking out for her family alone, she is also very terrified.

She doesn't believe that her poor husband, the man who had to sell his boots in a pawn shop to get her an old silver ring, she doesn't believe that he is so rich overnight.

She believes that he got some of his friends to act like he is their superintendent, and then he splashed all of his money on this helicopter so that he can make her family feel sorry for what they did to them.

The truth of the matter is that she is content with having him back, and having her daughter and her out of the doghouse.

Maybe they can get a small apartment and maybe a used wheelchair for her too. They are going to be a happy little family, and she loves it.

She is just scared because he pulled down those mansions and if he gets in trouble with the military for that.

She will have to find a way to call her parents and Finna to beg them to forgive Roman…

“Honey, look!”

“Mummy, look!”

She has been lost in her thoughts, but only when Athena and Roman touch her does she come back to consciousness.

Athena is jumping up and down as she points to a mansion that is bigger than both the Beerson and the Kent mansions.

Stephanie's jaw drops to the ground. Who owns this huge house?

“Are we stopping to say hello to your boss?” She turns to Roman. “Was he the one that gave you this helicopter to come and rescue us?”

Roman is so dumbfounded that he finds himself laughing. It's Carmen that answers for him.

“No, Miss, the Boss is the highest entity in the army, he doesn't have a boss. This is your house, he has spent five years building the perfect house for his family.”

“Our house?!” Athena press her face against the glass. “You mean I am going to finally get my own room?!”

Athena squeaks with joy! She never never had the luxury of having a room to herself since she has always shared the doghouse with her lame mother.

They even have a helipad on top of the roof! How much money does Roman Croft have?

“Home sweet home.” Roman chuckles. He picks her up in his hands and they stroll through the front door.

Their house looks like something out of the dream of a very rich man. There are over five different luxurious cars in the parking lot, and once they step into the house, Athena can't go further.

She stops to take off her shoes, because she doesn't believe that her tattered shoes deserve to touch these beautiful carpets.

Roman is very quick to stop her. “What are you doing, Athena?”

“I can't step on the carpet,” Athena says. “Aunt Finna always makes me take off my shoes before entering the house…”

“Well, this is not your Aunt Finna's house, this is yours. Don't mind staining the ground with dirt because there are servants to clean them up.”

Stephanie eyebrows lifts. “Are you sure, Roman? We really hate to be a bother here.”

“Don't worry, my family. You will never be a bother.”

A man in his late fifties steps out of the corner with a briefcase in his hands. He walks into the living room, just as Roman is dropping Stephanie gently in a chair.

“Doctor Professor!” Roman beams. “You have come at the right time!”

Stephanie's eyes blinks with unclarity.

“Oh, my dear, this is Doctor Professor Jenkins. He is the most brilliant Doctor in the world, and even though he is a very busy person, he has been able to make time to see us tonight.”

“Good day, sir.” The Doctor bows. “Mrs Croft, nice to meet you.”

This explanation still hasn't made things clear for Stephanie. A Doctor for what?

Doctor Jenkins is such an excellent doctor that he can read her expression just from her face.

“Well, Mrs Croft, I am a trained neurosurgeon, and I have been hired by your husband to help give you back your ability to walk.”

Mr Beerson's eyes almost pop out of the sockets with shock. “Did you just ask my beautiful wife and I to stay in your servants’ quarters?!” He barks with rage. “Never have I been more insulted in the many years that I have walked the earth!” Mrs Beerson bemoans. She turns to her daughter, who is too shocked to retract her husband's order. “Is this how you are going to treat your own parents, Stephanie?! After all the sacrifices we've made for you?!” Stephanie opens her mouth to speak, but Roman beats her to it again. “What sacrifices, pray tell?” He asks, tilting his head to the side. “You mistreated her and my daughter for seven years and you were the reason that she was a cripple! Now that she has a mansion, you arrogantly demand to live with her?!” “If you never wanted to accommodate us, then you should have said so from the very beginning!” Mr Beerson shouts. “My wife and I will be just fine on our own!” “Yes, Stephanie! When the Dragon General finally kicks you and your p

Roman finds himself sighing over and over again. He is in his brand-new office, going through all the compilation of research that Carmen sent to him. Carmen didn't lie, the Beerson family is in trouble. They sold all their lands and other houses, and he destroyed their last mansion. Roman is tempted to laugh, this would surely teach them a lesson, but he knows that Stephanie is too good for this world. There is no way that she would be able to sleep knowing that her parents are being left under the scorching sun, and the cold winds of the night. See, John Kent has moved himself, Finna, and Pumpkin into a five star hotel, but he has refused to take the Beerson parents with him… Finna shamelessly turned her parents down at the entrance of the five stars hotel, and they were left with their bags under the gaze of passerbys. If not for Stephanie's timely calling, they would have been forced to go to the homeless shelter….A soft knock on the door makes Roman look up. It's Stephanie

Stephanie wakes up very late the next morning, and she had such a satisfied sleep that her eyes are still shut. She stretches like a cat, before yawning and walking to the bathroom. She sits on the toilet bowl as she passes out urine, and only when she feels her toes against the feathery fur of the carpet does she remember that she hasn't felt it in seven years. The sleep disappeared from her eye and she immediately touched her thighs, down to her toes. She can feel every touch, and it's as real as her heart beating in her chest. “Ahhh!” She jumps up, fearing that she is in some kind of fucked up dream. She goes over to the tap and splashes water over her face. She slaps herself till her cheeks stings with pain, but each time she looks down, her legs are still working! She runs out of the bedroom and room, and downstairs, she finds Roman talking to some of the servants. “Roman!! Roman, I can walk!” She doesn't wait for him to see, she jumps into his hands and wriggles her t

Stephanie throws her head back and laughs so loudly that everyone is stunned by this. “Regain my ability to walk? Oh, Doctor, don't flatter me!” she holds her hand over her nose, trying to stop herself from laughing. Roman immediately goes down on one knee in front of her, gently cradling her face in his hands. “This is not a joke, my love. I worked in the army for years, and I have seen many hopeless situations given hope to by people like Doctor Jenkins. He is the best doctor in the world, so let's have a little faith.” Doctor Jenkins clears his throat. “Mrs Croft, not to toot my own horn, but the General is right. From my little examination of your feet, this is not even a critical case.” “Please, Doctor, enough!” Stephanie raises her voice. “You are not giving me hope, what you are giving me is false belief! Look at my daughter, she has never seen me walk since she was born. How do you think she is going to feel if this treatment fails?” “Stephanie, this is not false hope.

.“I'm sorry, Roman, I tried to stop it, but they beat both of us and starved me. I tried to protect our daughter, I swear to you.” Roman is not even going to blame her. She is crippled, how can any of this be her fault? Instead, he picks her up in his arms and takes her to the helicopter that landed outside the house. Stephanie has never been in a helicopter before, and she is so startled by the entire experience. Captain Carmen also comes into the helicopter and he jumps into the pilot seat. “Where are we heading to, sir?” He asks Roman. “Take me to that place where my daughter has been turned into a maid!” He orders. In a few minutes time, commotion has set in the Kent compound as the helicopter is dangerously close to the roof. Roman steps out of the helicopter before it can even reach the ground and his eyes scans around for his daughter. She is not hard to recognize, she looks like an angel and not even the maltreatment from her maternal family has been able to break he
