Kane stood there, with his hands bloodied as he turned to look at the men who stood right beside Kylian.
They had guns in their hands, ready to shoot. "I hope that now you have pulled your weapons out; you know how to use them?" Kane asked, as his eyes met theirs. Kylian shook as his eyes met Kane's, and all he felt was fear. The man standing before him seemed nothing like a normal person. The way he stared at him without showing any fear made it worse. Kane stepped forward, his eyes still on the man. Immediately, he took another step. "You have no idea who you are crossing paths with. Are you trying to hurt me? The Vincents are going to kill you if anything happens to me!!" Kylian yelled, trying to keep Kane from doing anything. "If you even think of hurting me, they will make sure that Elder Russo, the Blazing Meteor of the Conclave, will make sure that you get the most excruciating death. There will be nothing left of you, so I advise that you find another thing to do." Kane paused and looked at the man. Kylian knew his words had reached him, and he had nothing else to do but wait for him to be a fool and let his guard down. 'This fool, I knew he was just another normal man who managed to start cultivating. He is a worm; the moment he heard Elder Russo, he froze and knew nothing would come of him doing anything to me. And when he lets his guard completely down, I will make sure that there isn't going to be anything left of you!' Kylian stared at Kane, hoping to get something out of the whole confrontation. Kane looked up at the red evening sky and calmly closed his eyes. "So this is how far Karndor has fallen?" he muttered, eyes still closed, as he slowly lowered his head to look at the man before him. "Then it is now clear what I must do; I will purge every corner of this forsaken land of its dirt, I will burn down every tainted pillar. And from that ash, I will make sure that a new Karndor will be born." Kane took one more step forward; the four men standing right next to him wasted no time raising their guns, and they fired. At the same time, Kane stared at them as they fired with such precision. His body flickered as he stood there with his hands moving at a speed that none of his attackers could even perceive. When the shooting stopped, Kane was standing there looking at them with a confused look in his eyes. He stretched his hand and poured down all the bullets they had been firing at him. "Pathetic." He whispered, his voice filled with disgust and irritation. The next thing Kylian and his allies saw was the man who had been standing right in front of them somehow appear beside them. Before the men could react, Kane's hand moved at alarming speed, releasing a force that roared through the air like a cannon shot. The four men beside Kylian now lay on the floor, their necks gone. Kylian looked around, trying to let the image sink in; nothing had prepared him for what was happening. He slowly turned to see Kane standing right behind him, his eyes glowing ominously. Kylian stepped back, his trembling legs threatening to give out. Then he felt something warm trickle down his thighs. He had wet himself. But he couldn't bring himself to care. His eyes remained fixed on the figure before him, his mind desperately searching for an explanation for what he had just witnessed. 'What is this man?' Kane stepped forward, closing the gap between them. His eyes swept around; they felt heavy as he saw the litter of corpses. "All these men..." He spoke softly. "They laid their lives for you, hoping that they were facing something they could understand. But where did it lead them? What did it get them?" Kane asked, tilting his head and keeping his gaze on the man. "Or do you believe that your life is worth more than theirs?" Kylian shook his head; he couldn't even bring himself to think about anything but surviving this monster. Kane didn't argue or say anything; he was there for a reason, and the man in front of him could help him. "Tell me, why were you and your workers here?" Kane asked. Kylian, still shaking in his pants, looked at Kane. "It was the Vincents; they said we should level it to the ground and make sure that we made it a good place for their son's new getaway house. I didn't mean to do all this, please. I have family and-" "So?" Kane asked, cutting him off, focused only on survival. "Your men had families as well, but now their families might never know where to find their bodies." The color drained from Kylian's face when he heard Kane, knowing what he meant. He was about to plead with him again when the roar of powerful engines sounded from afar; he turned to see cars lining up outside the compound. Kylian was confused; at first, he felt a rush of hope, maybe the Vincents had sent people to help them. But then he saw the symbol on one of the cars: two dragons, an axe, and a sword. The car doors opened, and a man in a white suit stepped out. He stood tall, with curly black hair and a kingly demeanor. Behind him followed about fifteen men and five women, all wearing black robes with the same symbol on their backs. They approached Kane and Kylian, then halted. "Lord Kane!" The twenty saluted, and Kylian realized the man holding him was dangerous. But he didn't bother to act like he had any power. The man in white stood right in front of Kane, a strange look on his face. "You know how hard it is to find you? Thank heavens I listened to the Grandmaster. If not, I would have been lost somewhere." The man complained, looking at Kane. "I told you, I could handle this," Kane muttered. Kylian watched them, trying to understand what he was witnessing. The man turned to look at him and noticed his sharp, icy-blue gaze. "So who is he?" The man asked, trying to learn more. Kane turned back to Kylian, watching him tremble in fear. "He is the one who will help me start my quest here." Kane gave his answer. Kylian heard this and believed Kane meant he would use him. "Please, don't kill me. I can do anything you want." Kylian pleaded again, knowing nothing could save him. Kane didn't respond; he was still looking at Kylian like he was dead weight. "Tell me, where are the Vincents?" Kylian heard this and was a bit confused, knowing there was no gain in going for the Vincents. "Phoebe and Bradson Vincents aren't anywhere in Karndor, but in Quilio Hotels, that's where Keith Vincents is celebrating the death of the Black family. It is their annual party and-" Kane raised his hand, stopping him. He couldn't believe his ears; his family's being celebrated like some kind of public holiday. Kylian was still confused, trying to step back, knowing that if Kane was even a bit off, he could escape. "I wouldn't think of doing that." The man in a white suit was right behind him; Kylian turned to look at him. He saw a smile on his face. "The Dragon King doesn't let prey walk out on him..." Hearing this, Kylian's heart almost dropped out. That was why Kane was arrogant from the start; he was the living embodiment of destruction. He turned to look at the silver-white-haired man in front of him. "The Dragon King..." As soon as the words left his mouth, Kane waved his hand down like a blade, and the next second. Kylian's head exploded.Latest Chapter
Chapter 8
~Devaran Springs Resort~ Four people were seen by the resort pool, enjoying themselves. Bradson Vincent, Phoebe Vincent, Timothy Vincent, and Elder Lucas were seen sitting there, celebrating with so much joy in their hearts. “I can't believe it's been twelve years already; I can still remember it like it was yesterday when it was announced that assassins killed them off.” Bradson laughed; he couldn't control himself as he fell to the floor, trying to get his head around it all. “Yeah, and the call came that something bad had happened to Lord Edgar; I was told to rush to his house. They didn't know I was one of the men who drove the blade into his chest.” Timothy laughed; he sounded ecstatic. “The man looked me in the eye; he was so disappointed in both of us. There wasn't a chance he would have believed that there was something that would convince us to change.” Their laughter filled the air. Phoebe sat with her legs crossed, looking down at the pool. “Poor Sasha, I know she

Russo tried to pull his arm from Kane’s grip, but the harder he pulled, the tighter Kane held on. “You said that I was an ant, and crushing me would mean something.” Kane spoke, looking him in the eye and making sure he couldn't get away. Russo stared at him, fear filling his mind with different images as Kane lifted his hand and kept staring. “Now, mighty warrior, let an ant show you that it can sting!” Kane roared and punched Russo in the face, sending the Elder crashing to the floor and leaving a crater. Everyone who had stayed back, believing the Elder and Keith Vincents would be enough to stop this man, was now in shock. Even Elder Russo, a cultivator who had earned praise for reaching a level of power few could attain, was shocked. Keith looked at Kane; his legs shook as he pushed a button. The alert went out to all the guards in the building: they were about to take down a monster, and they needed to avoid mistakes. “Calling for backup? I thought you were fearless?” K

Kane slowly wiped blood off his shoe and looked at Russo and Keith. He hadn't come there to play games with them, and he didn't want to waste his time on anything like that. Everyone at the party had started making their way out of the hall, knowing that it was about to turn into a disaster zone. The guards knew better than to try to intervene; they were normal men, and fighting cultivators would be the end of them. No one who provoked an Elder of the conclave would get away with it. Not everyone left; some stayed back to see what would become of the silver-white-haired man who came to a place like this looking for trouble. “He is dead now. Elder Russo was said to have broken through and hit the Violet Rank; someone like him won't lose to him. I am sure that they aren't going to kill right away.” “Are you kidding? He just killed Daran Becker; they are going to make his life a living hell.” Kane kept his eyes on the men; he knew they were trying to scare him. Russo was the firs

Kane walked into the hall and saw all sorts of people. The wealthy men of Karndor were eager to prove they had something to show for it. His eyes moved around, as if he were looking at the showglass where his family's property was on display, and at how they held it up. It was heart-crushing to see his father's prized polearm, his mother's wyrm tiara, and the one that broke every nerve he had: his brother's bracelet. "Did you hear?" Two women were behind Kane, and their eyes fixed on the showglass. "Keith Vincent said he is going to be selling the polearm to Daran Becker and Hasashi Becker; they are here to take it." "The Beckers? They are pretty powerful, the only two cultivators who went into business." "Eh, I heard that they managed to break through to the Gold rank; that is basically superhuman already, and if they trained a bit harder, they might hit apprentice level. Giving them a good chance even to parry an elder." Kane heard all he needed to; they were planning on sel

Kane stood over the dead body, looking at it, almost empty and void of any emotion that could get him anything other than the anger he felt within himself. "I see they pissed you off." The man in a white suit spoke up, looking at the piles of dead bodies. Kane stayed silent and turned to the soldiers who had come with him. "Damien, did they..." "They brought them, so you dont need to worry about it." The man in the white suit was Damien Matthews, Kane's second-in-command, or, as people called him, the Right Hand of Destruction. Kane turned to the warriors and bowed his head slightly. Then almost immediately, the warriors signaled the car. Other people brought down tombstones made of gold, decorated with diamonds and other rare stones. There were six; they lined them up behind the cups Kane had set up. The stones bore the names of all Kane's fallen family members. "Damien," Kane muttered, watching the workers set up the tombstones. "Yeah?" "How fast can you get me the loc
