In the ruins of what had once been a beautiful structure, burnt to the ground. The breeze carried the memories of what once stood there, a time forcefully taken from people. In those ruins stood a figure, 6'2 "tall. The calm wind blew across his coat; his stature mirrored the gods in men's many stories. His hazel-green eyes, almost hidden by his long silver hair, stared blankly at the ruins, his mind calm and collected as the wind swayed his coat side to side. He held a bouquet of flowers. "Father, Mother...your son has come home." He whispered slowly, setting the bouquet on the floor. Memories flooded his mind: the nightmares he couldn't run from and the memories of the worst day of his entire life. October 31, 2014.... The Black family was celebrating their youngest daughter's birthday; Ayra had finally turned eleven, and the house was filled with joy. The twins, Kane and Jaden, watched their sister dance with absolute joy. The entire family was happy, then it happened... Fi

Kane stood there, with his hands bloodied as he turned to look at the men who stood right beside Kylian. They had guns in their hands, ready to shoot. "I hope that now you have pulled your weapons out; you know how to use them?" Kane asked, as his eyes met theirs. Kylian shook as his eyes met Kane's, and all he felt was fear. The man standing before him seemed nothing like a normal person. The way he stared at him without showing any fear made it worse. Kane stepped forward, his eyes still on the man. Immediately, he took another step. "You have no idea who you are crossing paths with. Are you trying to hurt me? The Vincents are going to kill you if anything happens to me!!" Kylian yelled, trying to keep Kane from doing anything. "If you even think of hurting me, they will make sure that Elder Russo, the Blazing Meteor of the Conclave, will make sure that you get the most excruciating death. There will be nothing left of you, so I advise that you find another thing to do." K

Kane walked into the hall and saw all sorts of people. The wealthy men of Karndor were eager to prove they had something to show for it. His eyes moved around, as if he were looking at the showglass where his family's property was on display, and at how they held it up. It was heart-crushing to see his father's prized polearm, his mother's wyrm tiara, and the one that broke every nerve he had: his brother's bracelet. "Did you hear?" Two women were behind Kane, and their eyes fixed on the showglass. "Keith Vincent said he is going to be selling the polearm to Daran Becker and Hasashi Becker; they are here to take it." "The Beckers? They are pretty powerful, the only two cultivators who went into business." "Eh, I heard that they managed to break through to the Gold rank; that is basically superhuman already, and if they trained a bit harder, they might hit apprentice level. Giving them a good chance even to parry an elder." Kane heard all he needed to; they were planning on sel

Russo tried to pull his arm from Kane’s grip, but the harder he pulled, the tighter Kane held on. “You said that I was an ant, and crushing me would mean something.” Kane spoke, looking him in the eye and making sure he couldn't get away. Russo stared at him, fear filling his mind with different images as Kane lifted his hand and kept staring. “Now, mighty warrior, let an ant show you that it can sting!” Kane roared and punched Russo in the face, sending the Elder crashing to the floor and leaving a crater. Everyone who had stayed back, believing the Elder and Keith Vincents would be enough to stop this man, was now in shock. Even Elder Russo, a cultivator who had earned praise for reaching a level of power few could attain, was shocked. Keith looked at Kane; his legs shook as he pushed a button. The alert went out to all the guards in the building: they were about to take down a monster, and they needed to avoid mistakes. “Calling for backup? I thought you were fearless?” K
