Kane stood over the dead body, looking at it, almost empty and void of any emotion that could get him anything other than the anger he felt within himself.

"I see they pissed you off."

The man in a white suit spoke up, looking at the piles of dead bodies.

Kane stayed silent and turned to the soldiers who had come with him.

"Damien, did they..."

"They brought them, so you dont need to worry about it."

The man in the white suit was Damien Matthews, Kane's second-in-command, or, as people called him, the Right Hand of Destruction.

Kane turned to the warriors and bowed his head slightly.

Then almost immediately, the warriors signaled the car.

Other people brought down tombstones made of gold, decorated with diamonds and other rare stones.

There were six; they lined them up behind the cups Kane had set up.

The stones bore the names of all Kane's fallen family members.

"Damien," Kane muttered, watching the workers set up the tombstones.

"Yeah?"

"How fast can you get me the location where the Vincents have the party every year? And also get me an invitation."

Kane gave the instruction and started to turn when Damien handed him a phone.

He turned to see the look on Damien's face, and he could tell what it was.

"Trying to leave this call is going to make him get even more agitated, so the best thing to do is to take it and call him."

Damien sounded a bit off; he seemed tired.

Kane knew that there wasnt a chance for him to avoid it anymore. Taking the phone from Damien, he dialed a number.

The call connected, and someone answered.

"Hello, Master..."

"Boy, I have told you to call me grandfather. Grant me this wish before I die one day."

"We both know you are very stubborn to leave this earth like that."

The man on the other end of the call laughed a bit, then he stopped.

"Kane, my boy, I have one request from you. I know I told you that there wasnt anything I would ask of you. But this is going to be the only thing I will ever ask for."

Kane stood there, silent, knowing there wasnt anything that would make the Grandmaster even think of talking to him like this.

"I will transfer the last two remaining inheritances you have from me, one today and the other after you have finalized it."

Kane's eyes widened a bit; he couldnt understand what he was trying to get him to do, but it seemed important.

"What is it?"

He asked, trying to get it out of his master before anything else would bring it crawling out of his head.

"I want you to get engaged and marry the Heiress of the Hale family of Northcrest."

There was silence on both ends.

"What do you mean by that? How am I going to marry someone I know nothing about?!"

Kane sounded confused, trying to put everything together.

"It is something that will be of great help to you. I will explain when the time is right, but for now I need you to make sure that there isnt going to be a mistake."

The Master warned.

Kane stood there; he had heard his master, and he couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to hold him down.

"I will do as you say, but I think you are killing the dreams of this woman by putting her with someone like me."

"Worry not, my child; you arent going to kill her dreams or life. If anything, I think you need her by your side."

Kane stood there silent; he couldnt think of anything else to say to his master.

"Master, I know that this is something hard for me to say. But I promise you, once all this is settled, I will make sure..."

"You dont need to make me that promise; you are already doing something for me."

Kane nodded; he looked up with a warm smile.

"I will speak to you later, Master..."

With that, the call ended.

Kane stood there as the phone glowed, showing him a notification of the transfer his master had made.

A smile slowly crept onto his face.

"Lord Kane, I think you want to see this."

Damien called for him, snapping him back to reality.

He turned to him; Damien walked over with everything he needed.

"I have the hotel name and everything you need to get into the party. But there is something else there; they have certain things up for auction."

Damien pointed, trying to make sure Kane saw what was going on.

Kane stared at the phone, and his aura slowly leaked out.

"These animals!!"

Kane was on the verge of exploding.

"I have gotten you the identity, Alaric Frost. Your name is on the invite list, and if you move now, you will have enough time to get to the party and meet up with the auction."

Damien spoke, trying to make sure he gave Kane everything he needed for the quest.

Kane nodded; he turned to look at the tombstones. He gave a calm bow, then turned back to Damien.

"The hotel is Aetherion's Garden," Damien replied quickly, his face still dull.

Kane stood there, eyes on the phone, then slowly looked up at the car he'd be taking for the mission.

"Be sure that they place everything here well in order. I will give you a call when I am done."

He spoke before walking to the car, with his mind on one thing and one thing alone.

The beginning of his vengeance...

His car zoomed away, disappearing into the distance.

-Aetherion Hotel-

The scenery was beautiful, and by far one of the few places many would pray to find.

A Black Audi Nuvolari suddenly drove in, its powerful engine roaring. Everyone turned to look at the car; they were drawn to it and the weight it carried as it drove with an elegance laced with authority.

"Who has that ride?"

"I dont know, I haven't seen that around Karndor before."

"Keith Vincent might have invited one of his overseas friends; this guy has to be one of the great royals from Europe or so."

The car stopped, and out stepped a 6'2-tall, silver-white-haired man with a minor scar on his face.

Kane Black, or as they would know him for tonight...Alaric Frost.

The women outside turned to look at him; their looks showed they were pleased to see such a man.

"My, my, the heavens do have favorites."

"You can say that again. I have to know if there is a way for me to get myself wrapped around that piece of work!!"

Kane looked up and noticed the entire place seemed to have some sort of ambiance.

As he stepped in, someone walked up to him, dressed in all-black, and looked him in the eye. He was a valet, and from the look of it, he had a giddy smile on his face, like he was doing this for someone big.

Kane didnt care; he wasnt here for anything other than the heads of the men he was after.

The valet then spoke.

"Sir, you arent meant to park there. It is reserved for Daran Becker. And-"

Kane turned to look at the man; his eyes had a powerful glare that sent shivers down the spine of the man who came to talk to him.

The valet didn't try to say another word to Kane; he backed off, knowing he wouldn't get through.

Kane walked into the party, leaving the man there to ponder who sent him.

He turned and ran back to the park, where a Bugatti was parked, with two men inside.

"Mr. Becker, I am sorry for the inconvenience, but I couldnt get the man to move his car..."

One of the men inside the car, who had a scar on his right eye, had a woman clinging to him.

"Hah? Who is the deadbeat who thinks that they can defile me?!"

~Devaran Springs Resort~ Four people were seen by the resort pool, enjoying themselves. Bradson Vincent, Phoebe Vincent, Timothy Vincent, and Elder Lucas were seen sitting there, celebrating with so much joy in their hearts. “I can't believe it's been twelve years already; I can still remember it like it was yesterday when it was announced that assassins killed them off.” Bradson laughed; he couldn't control himself as he fell to the floor, trying to get his head around it all. “Yeah, and the call came that something bad had happened to Lord Edgar; I was told to rush to his house. They didn't know I was one of the men who drove the blade into his chest.” Timothy laughed; he sounded ecstatic. “The man looked me in the eye; he was so disappointed in both of us. There wasn't a chance he would have believed that there was something that would convince us to change.” Their laughter filled the air. Phoebe sat with her legs crossed, looking down at the pool. “Poor Sasha, I know she

Russo tried to pull his arm from Kane’s grip, but the harder he pulled, the tighter Kane held on. “You said that I was an ant, and crushing me would mean something.” Kane spoke, looking him in the eye and making sure he couldn't get away. Russo stared at him, fear filling his mind with different images as Kane lifted his hand and kept staring. “Now, mighty warrior, let an ant show you that it can sting!” Kane roared and punched Russo in the face, sending the Elder crashing to the floor and leaving a crater. Everyone who had stayed back, believing the Elder and Keith Vincents would be enough to stop this man, was now in shock. Even Elder Russo, a cultivator who had earned praise for reaching a level of power few could attain, was shocked. Keith looked at Kane; his legs shook as he pushed a button. The alert went out to all the guards in the building: they were about to take down a monster, and they needed to avoid mistakes. “Calling for backup? I thought you were fearless?” K

Kane slowly wiped blood off his shoe and looked at Russo and Keith. He hadn't come there to play games with them, and he didn't want to waste his time on anything like that. Everyone at the party had started making their way out of the hall, knowing that it was about to turn into a disaster zone. The guards knew better than to try to intervene; they were normal men, and fighting cultivators would be the end of them. No one who provoked an Elder of the conclave would get away with it. Not everyone left; some stayed back to see what would become of the silver-white-haired man who came to a place like this looking for trouble. “He is dead now. Elder Russo was said to have broken through and hit the Violet Rank; someone like him won't lose to him. I am sure that they aren't going to kill right away.” “Are you kidding? He just killed Daran Becker; they are going to make his life a living hell.” Kane kept his eyes on the men; he knew they were trying to scare him. Russo was the firs

Kane walked into the hall and saw all sorts of people. The wealthy men of Karndor were eager to prove they had something to show for it. His eyes moved around, as if he were looking at the showglass where his family's property was on display, and at how they held it up. It was heart-crushing to see his father's prized polearm, his mother's wyrm tiara, and the one that broke every nerve he had: his brother's bracelet. "Did you hear?" Two women were behind Kane, and their eyes fixed on the showglass. "Keith Vincent said he is going to be selling the polearm to Daran Becker and Hasashi Becker; they are here to take it." "The Beckers? They are pretty powerful, the only two cultivators who went into business." "Eh, I heard that they managed to break through to the Gold rank; that is basically superhuman already, and if they trained a bit harder, they might hit apprentice level. Giving them a good chance even to parry an elder." Kane heard all he needed to; they were planning on sel

Kane stood there, with his hands bloodied as he turned to look at the men who stood right beside Kylian. They had guns in their hands, ready to shoot. "I hope that now you have pulled your weapons out; you know how to use them?" Kane asked, as his eyes met theirs. Kylian shook as his eyes met Kane's, and all he felt was fear. The man standing before him seemed nothing like a normal person. The way he stared at him without showing any fear made it worse. Kane stepped forward, his eyes still on the man. Immediately, he took another step. "You have no idea who you are crossing paths with. Are you trying to hurt me? The Vincents are going to kill you if anything happens to me!!" Kylian yelled, trying to keep Kane from doing anything. "If you even think of hurting me, they will make sure that Elder Russo, the Blazing Meteor of the Conclave, will make sure that you get the most excruciating death. There will be nothing left of you, so I advise that you find another thing to do." K
