“Please make sure to come to the office thirty minutes early,” Geneva continued. But all her words didn’t sync to Abby’s head.

She was just looking at her while her heart was still throbbing so fast.

“Miss Nixon?” The HR officer called her attention. “Are you listening to me?”

“Oh,” she mumbled and then she nodded her head. “B— but ma’am, why am I going to report in his office?”

“He requested you to be transferred under him and work as his secretary,” Geneva continued. “Haven’t you had an encounter with him?”

Abby suddenly felt her cheeks turn red. “Yes, Ma’am.”

“I can’t help but wonder what he is planning because out of all the applicants he has chosen you instead. You have to be very careful and do your job very well,” the HR office reminded her.

She smiled timidly.

“I will. Thank you, Ma’am.”

“Okay, you can go now.”

Abby nodded and then she stood up and left the room.

She closed the door and then leaned her back on it. She sighed.

She didn’t know if she should be thankfu
