A few moments later, Rachael was already there, her face dripping over with confusion as she dropped into the room.

"What's wrong mom?" She was about to ask until she saw her brother in that state on the bed and her heart frozen in an instant.

"Is that even my brother?" She could barely recognize the person that laid on the bed.

Seeing her brother in such a pitiful situation, her face was broken into utmost shock trying hard not to believe what he just laid before.

“Benjamin.. I have always told you to stay out of trouble but you won't listen. Now see what you have done to yourself.“

“What thug was he roaming with during this period? How many of them could have done this to him?" Her face was flooded with anger as she spoke

“Thugs? Are you really serious right now? Well if you consider your ex one then I don't think that word would be the most appropriate!" Bella hissed in disgust.

“What's wrong with you? I know for a fact that you don't like him but that doesn't mean that you should blame him for everything? How could he have done such a thing? Is he a monster!" Rachael frowned as she spoke, already getting agitated.

“Yes! Certainly a monster!" She replied.

"He was angry because Benjamin wanted to console him after everything that happened! You know that he was still family once, no matter how useless he was! But instead, he directed all his anger towards my poor child! Now just take a look at him!" Lady Willow yelled as she cried out loud, tears spilling down freely from her eyes.

"John?" Rachael muttered, taken aback with confusion.

"John can't do such a thing! I have known him for too long!" She muttered too confused.

"Are you saying that everyone in your family would gang up because of someone like John? What's there for them to lose in the first instance?" Patricia responded.

The indecision on her face made lady Willow frown deeply. A lump of disgust stuck down her throat.

“Are you trying to believe that fool over us? I think that he has been hiding his true nature from you all this while. If he can try to rape your cousin, what else is he not capable of doing.“ Her tone was strange.

"There's no need to argue too much! I already brought enough to prove that he is very guilty!" Bella brought out her cell phone from her Pocket.

She had taken recordings of the events while it was still happening.  She pasted the phone on her face, the video already cropped.

"See? Do you believe it now?" Bella hissed.

She was taken about. The person in the video was indeed John at the instant.

"I told you that he was going to reveal his true nature! Why are you so shocked?" Inquired Patricia.

She could feel a strange sense of anger crawling through her vines as she thought about what he had done to her brother.

"Now you have seen! We need to make him pay!"

Rachael could barely listen now that her face was blushed red with fury. The thoughts in her head are clashing at the moment.

"I can't believe this!" She thought.

That was until her cell phone made a beeping sound, drawing her off from her thoughts.

It was Vincent, the CEO of a first-generation company who had always been wooing her even though she was married.

The one that had been wooing her for so long now. Now that John was gone, it was the perfect opportunity for them to be together.

But she still hesitated, still staring at the screen for a while.

“Why is Vincent calling?“ She muttered under her breath but it was loud enough for Lady Willow to hear her.

“I told him about the Divorce. This is the opportunity that you have been looking for Rachael and you have to grab it with both hands. Now that bitch isn't around to pester you anymore!" Patricia whispered into her ears.

But Rachael was not in any way interested in starting anything serious with him.

"I will have to take care of John first!" She ended the call abruptly.

"You have to make sure that he is beaten severely! You have to make sure that you beat him up! I want to hear every single bit of his bones breaking!" Lady Willow cried out loud.

Rachael could only clutch her hands as she stared at her mother. Hate surging through her throat and the bitter sensation coursing through her blood.

She had always believed that the person that she had gotten married to was calm. And never knew that he could behave like such an animal.

"If he needed someone to pour out the frustration of the divorce on, why didn't he just come to me instead of taking it out on the Innocent boy?" She thought of grating her teeths against each other.

"I am going to resolve this myself. He's my ex and no one else's." She responded abruptly, walking off from the room.

Her exit was preceded by Henry walking right into the place. His tongue twisted in anger, seeing his brother all bandaged up.

"I can't believe that he did this to my brother! That bitch!"

"We can't allow him to go scout free. If Rachael ain't going to do anything about it, that doesn't mean that I am going to stay here and fold my hands!" He blotted out bringing out his cell phone from his pockets.

"John, when I am done with you, you will regret walking on the surface of this earth!" She swore in between her throat.

*********

Rachael placed her hands on her head that seemed like it was going to tear apart. Her phone in her hands as she tried to daily John's contact but she could not get herself to come to do this.

The buzzing of her cell phone vibrated through her skin, forcing her swiftly off from thoughts that ran through her head.

"Who's this?" She frowned heavily.

“Hey Miss Rachael.“ The caller from the other end greeted me first.

The face squeezed even more, realizing that it was her secretary. It wasn't working hours and she had already forbidden anyone from giving her a call when it wasn't working hours.

“Hi, Sophia. Is there any problem?“ Replied Rachael with an icy tone laced all over her voice

“Yes. The project supervisor Just called. We are going to be eliminated at the nomination stage.“ She noted and her heart almost stopped beating.

“Is there anything that we can do?“ She inquired trying to control her racing heart.

“I think that you will have to contact Johnson, he is the only one that can help this time.“ She replied.

Meanwhile, John walked gradually on the street still staring at the broken necklace in his hand.

His phone rang and he picked up the call from one of his clients.

“Thanks really for saving my life and that of my family. Mr. John! I don't know..." The praises went on.

And immediately, John recognized the voice as that of Mr. Gerald's voice, the man that he had helped with some medication.

“I already sent a million dollars to your account as my gratitude.“

“You could not have done that Mr. Gerald. It was nothing much!" John added with a wry voice.

“You're so modest Mr. John! I know a lot of powerful doctors throughout the Coast and they could barely do anything."

"I owe my life to you Mr. John! I will ever be loyal to you! Also I got the information about the herb that you wanted!" He said and John suddenly paused.

John's eyelid moved for the first time and it revived his joy. Even without asking, Mr. Gerald joyfully went on with the information that he had gathered about the herb.

He had always sort for this herb undercover for years now and it seemed that his search was finally going to come to an end

"The herb is with the heiress of the Armstrong  family. But." He paused, snipping air into his lungs.

"But she has already enrolled for the annual elite school that I am prohibited from getting into since my son is already there." He explained.

How could  John not know about this school? It was instituted once in a thousand years. All the young heirs and heiresses of each family were bound to enroll. It started over a thousand years ago.

While the founding families have stated that it was only to draw the elite families together to work for the good of the country, it had been nothing more than weighing the powers of the powerful families, creating allies with smaller families that meet their margin to enroll for the school and draft them apart with various conflicts."

"Can you get me there!" Harry inquired with a cold look and Mr. Lockwood nodded.

"If you can do that! I can carry on the rest myself!"

"But I think that there is a better way to do it! Her father is very sick so I referred you! And also, for the Desert snake herb, it is in the academy and would be given as a gift to the winner of the event!" He finalized..

Getting two herbs with one stone, John couldn't ask for anything better. And for a few moments, he had almost forgotten about his ex.

Just then, he could hear the roaring engines of cars right behind him making him stop right in his tracks.

The cars pulled a stop before him and a group of thugs with batons in their hands stormed out from the place with a frown hanging on their faces.

“So this is the tiny punk.“ He heard someone saying, making him clutch his hands with so much anger.

His eyes stormed off towards the crude sign and he could tell that they were sent by his wife.

“Hey, fool. You have crossed the line that you should never have and you are going to pay for it now.“ He heard the one who seemed to be their leader saying while they Continued to walk closer towards him.

With his foot already set in battle stance, he was already ready for what was coming in for him.

But as they were about to launch at him, he heard the smooth engine of another car behind him making his eyes flicker toward the direction of the sound

His eyes caught up with the perfectly aligned Roll Royce cars glittering in the rays of the sun and perfectly stealing the attention.

A lady stepped off from the car slowly. Her the strongest shoulders and the look of a model and a celebrity all in one body.

Three other guards came behind her as she walked gradually towards John with an air of grace in every single step that she took.

They were lost in their stare as she walked gradually towards John and stared at him.

“John Gaffer?“ She Inquired with a strange look hanging on her face as she continued to stare at him.

From her voice, he quickly recognized the heiress of the New Age group who had so much controversy surrounding her.

But since she came out, the guards could hardly recognize who she was.

“Hey. Step aside if you don't want to end up like that Punk.“ The leader of the gang sounded the warning making her face squeak into a frown as she turned gradually towards him.

“How dare you.“ She growled at him as they advanced gradually towards her with a frown hanging on their faces.

“You asked for this.“ He heard them saying, playing with the baton in their hands.

The ministers, upon hearing this, immediately showered the King, the Queen, and now the Crown Prince with compliments once more. They all remembered that it was the Crown Prince himself who had proposed this cost-free plan to tackle piracy, and now it indeed began to show initial signs of success.Joseph, intrigued, took the report from the Marquis of Castries and started to read it, quickly discovering that it was an American named Charles who had obtained intelligence on the pirates from Algiers, enabling the successful ambush. When he saw Charles mention that his information might have come from a former Tunisian Pasha named Eunice, he couldn't help but narrow his eyes.A former "Crown Prince" of Tunisia, still influential there? The Combined Fleet, upon seeing the pirate ship trying to escape, wasn't too surprised and maintained its course, squeezing the pirates' space smaller and smaller. The dozens of oars on the pirate ship were rowed so vigorously they almost took flight, quickly on the verge of escaping through the encirclement from the east and west sides, when all of a sudden, a tall warship appeared from the south, bearing the blue field and fleur-de-lis flag on its mainmast. It was the 42-gun cruising frigate "Cleder."Even though in the gentle winds of the Mediterranean, the oar-sail ship had a certain speed advantage, the formation of the Combined Fleet was impeccable; "Cleder" just needed to calmly wait there, and the warships from the other two directions would soon close in.In the end, the cornered pirate ship exchanged fire with "Cleder." The outcome was inevitable—the third broadside from "Cleder" broke the pirate ship's mast and a 28-pound cannonball blew away the entire bow of the ship, whi
