"What do you want from me again this time?"
"You tried to pull that with Bella Didn't you? And you want to leave just like that? Without compensation?" Lady Willow shot a deadly glare at him.
John stared through their eyes and could already feel his blood boiling over gradually with rage.
But with his clenched hands, he was able to restrain the anger that was gradually burning deep in him.
“I know that this is exactly what you have always wanted! Know that you have finally gotten it, I don't owe you even a dime! .“ He replied, saving the stress of pleading his innocence.
"You don't owe us?" Lady Willow scoffed.
There was no need for him to keep pleading his innocence when no one was going to listen to him in the first instance. The only thing that he could do was leave this pack of toxic people away.
John attempted to walk away from their midst but Lady Willow wasn't done with him just yet.
Her eyes sped off towards the necklace that he always had around his neck but now laid at the top layer of his bag and the smile that was initially on her face broadened even more.
"First of all, it's obvious that you will not be able to make any form of compensation since you are a poor ass so you will hand over your most treasured necklace to us." She requested without a single inch of shame.
His face twisted into a frown immediately at the thought of what she just said. There was certainly no way that he was going to hand over that necklace to any of them.
It was the most valued treasure that he had with him since it was given to him by his late mother.
"I can't certainly give it to you." He replied with a frown.
“Do I really look like I am asking you?“she shot a glare back at him.
“And it's obvious that Rachael got that for you so in other words, we are only taking what rightfully belongs to us.“
“And I am still not handing it over.“
"You don't have to because we are already taking it away from you whether you like it or not."
Benjamin dragged his bag off from the table before he could realize what was going on and quickly pulled the necklace away from the bag, flinging the rest of the items on the floor.
John's eyes burned red with so much anger and his hands were clenched tightly until it made a cracking sound as Adrenaline flooded his bloodstream.
"Give that back to me right away," John yelled at him, not able to control his anger this time.
"And what if I refuse to? What are you going to do?"
Before he could complete his statement, John grabbed him tightly by his shirt while he tried to break free from his Strong grip but there was no way that he could do that.
Seeing that there was nothing that he could do, he tore the necklace into shreds, as John watched every piece of the precious pearl shatter all over the floor.
For a Moment, John could not think straight as he continued to stare at what was before him still startled.
"If we can't have it, then no one should," Benjamin yelled at John as he went for the shattered pearls and began to grind them with his feet as they made a cracking sound.
He watched slowly with his anger rising, the most precious thing that reminded him of his mother cracked to dust.
He grew so angry that his eyes almost popped up from his eye socket as he went after Andrew and held him tightly by his neck.
I am going to make sure that you pay for this." He yelled.
Never in his life did he ever think that John would be this strong as his hands were firm on him.
Throwing him off to the floor, he went after him, throwing multiple slaps at him until his nose and his mouth bled.
John's hands continued to hit Benjamin's face while he continued to groan in pain and Lady Willow and Bella didn't dare to move even a single step closer towards him.
Lady Willow started with a bleeding heart as she watched her son being beaten up by a lowly punk like John.
Her hands shook violently until she could not stand it anymore. Lady Willow rushed forward with tears in her eyes.
"Get your hands off my son right this moment!" She wanted to say.
But the moment her eyes met with the blazing gaze of John, she froze in an instant. And her foot could not move out from the spot where she was standing.
"Don't come anywhere closer!" John's words were calm. But they caused a sudden sting in her heart that she could barely move her fingers. Her subconscious only quivered.
Benjamin's face could barely be recognized through John's scorn filled slaps.
"Next time, you should learn to respect your elders!"
"This should be enough!" John finally whispered to himself, tossing him off to the floor and he dropped in an instant.
Without any further word, he shot a glare at Lady Willow and Bella before walking away gradually.
Lady Willow still would not dare to move off from the spot that she was until he was a few miles away from them.
Her body defrosts in an instant, rushing off quickly to her son with tears in her eyes.
"Benjamin? Benjamin?" She called out quickly with a racing heart.
"I can not believe this! I can't believe that punk did this to my son!" She yelled with a mixture of anger and pain.
“Fool, I am going to make sure that you pay for this.“ She yelled at him with so much hatred and disgust in her voice but made sure that she kept her distance.
John Ignored her words, going down the floor slowly and getting the broken pieces of the necklace from it. After which he walked away from the room.
“You aren't just going to let him go away after doing this to me right.“ Bella yelled at the top of his voice while he continued to groan in pain but then, lady Willow shot a snare at him.
“We have to take you to the hospital right away because you are losing so much blood.“ There was a sense of fret in her eyes as every single part of his body was bruised.
Quickly they carried him off into the car as Lady Willow clutched the hands of her son tightly, putting in extra pressure.
She could picture John clearly beating up her child. The picture of it sending shock waves down her spine at every instance.
“I can't let him go scout free after doing this to my son.“ She kept on murmuring under her breath, thinking of ways to have her revenge.
At the hospital, Benjamin was quickly rushed to the VIP section as she had instructed and the doctors worked on his wounds while they stayed outside pacing up and down with fear written all over their faces.
The doctor emerged and she rushed swiftly towards him, seeking for information.
“How is my son doing?“ She Inquired quickly.
“He is fine now but he needs a lot of rest because he has a few fractured bones.“ The doctor informed her.
"Can I at least see him?" Her voice was dripping over with pity.
"Yeah sure!" The doctor handed over the card to him. "But you can only be with him for a while!"
Lady Willow made her way quickly into the. Seeing her son bandaged up in such a manner forced the tears to bleed off from her eyes.
“Mother, you can't let him go free. You have to deal with him.“ She could hear the echoes of Bella's words like far whispers.
“I already called Rachel so she would come and see what her worthless ex did to my son."
Meanwhile, Rachael was still in her office. She didn't have any meeting to attend in the first instance. She just needed to get off from that extremely tense environment.
Her heart beating heightened and her bones flustered with her head placed on the table until she felt a slight touch from behind that forced her to jerk up forcefully.
Rachel's eyes met with the person that had touched her and it turned out to be her secretary.
"You frightened me!" She said letting out deep breaths.
"Are you okay Rachael? You don't look too fine. Patricia inquired with confused expressions laced all over her face.
"It's John! Ever since he left! I have been feeling a deep void in my heart! This strange emptiness! I don't believe that he did what he was accused of. But that was just my opportunity to do what I had always wanted. I just couldn't think of any other way that I could lay him off; I truly wished that they were other ways that I could!" Her hands covered her face slowly.
"I think that you did the right thing Rachael! And I strongly believe that he did what he was accused of doing! I'm sure that he is only trying to hide his true identity from you and could not do that anymore!
Now that you guys are no longer together, you are going to see him for who he really is!" She assured me.
Rachael stared at her with a blank look on her face. She didn't even know what to think at this instant.
Just then, her cell phone rang. The call was from her mother. She had only left home a few moments ago, what could be the issue?
Was John suddenly proving difficult after he said that he was going to leave on his own Accord.
"Rachael! You need to come to the family hospital right this instant!" Her voice sounded way too urgent and tear ridden too. It made every single bit of the blood running through her vines to run cold.
Her heart froze as she stared at Patricia. "I think there's trouble!" She muttered.

JOHN'S POVThe announcement spreads through the Academy before anyone officially confirms it. That's how things work here. Rumors travel faster than notices, and by the time anything is posted officially, everyone already knows.I see it in the way instructors glance at me during training, then at Divo, then back again like they're mentally measuring the distance between us. Assistants linger near our stations longer than necessary. Conversations die when either of us enters a room, then restart in quieter, more careful tones. The tension becomes something physical, settling into my shoulders like weight I can't put down."You feel it too, right?" Thomas says during a break in training, leaning against the wall beside me. "The whole place feels like it's holding its breath.""I feel it," I confirm."How are you doing with it?" he asks."Trying not to run out of breath?" I say.He gives me a look that says he doesn't believe me. I don't push back on it because honestly, he's right not

Chapter 82JOHN'S POVThe Academy hums with quiet anticipation the next morning. I notice it the moment I step into the dining hall. Conversations pause when I approach, heads turning briefly before looking away. Then the talking resumes in softer tones, more careful than before.I grab food and sit with my team. Lawrence looks up as I settle into my seat."Morning," he says. "Slept at all?""Well enough," I lie.Maya studies my face with that direct way she has. "You look tired.""I'm fine," I say, taking a bite of bread I don't particularly want.Thomas leans in slightly. "It's not just you noticing things today. Something feels off this morning. Like everyone's waiting for something."He's right. The shift in atmosphere is subtle but very noticeable throughout breakfast. People step aside for me without meeting my eyes, creating a path that feels less like respect and more like distance. Like they're already positioning themselves away from whatever is coming."Did something happen
Chapter 81
JOHN'S POVThe tea house sits quiet when I arrive, tucked into the eastern corner of the meditation garden just as Elder Ming described. It's a small structure, traditional in design, with paper screens and a low table inside. Steam rises faintly from a kettle already set out, two cups placed precisely across from each other.Elder Ming is already there, kneeling on a cushion with perfect posture. He looks up as I enter and gestures to the cushion opposite him."John. Thank you for coming.""Thank you for the invitation," I say, removing my shoes at the entrance before stepping inside.I settle onto the cushion, feeling awkward in the formal position. Elder Ming seems completely at ease, like he was born to sit this way.He pours tea for both of us with deliberate care. The tea flows from the pot in a smooth line, filling each cup to exactly the same level. He watches my hands as I accept the cup, observing how I hold it, whether I understand the proper etiquette.I hold it with both

Chapter 80JOHN'S POVTraining is interrupted when an instructor redirects me to a different station than the one I am assigned. I'm halfway to my designated workspace when he calls out."John, not that one. Over here."I stop and turn. He's pointing to a station in the far corner, away from where the rest of my team is setting up."I was assigned to station three," I say, checking the board where assignments are posted."Change of plans," the instructor says. His tone is casual but his eyes are firm. "Station seven needs someone. You'll work there today."I glance at station seven. The tools there are modern, unfamiliar in their design. Digital monitors, electronic diagnostic equipment, instruments that require power sources and calibration. None of the traditional tools I normally rely on are present. When I hesitate, the instructor gestures for me to move. "Is there a problem?""No," I say, because what else can I say?I walk to station seven and examine the setup more closely. Eve
Chapter 79
JOHN'S POVThe failure of another participant spreads through the Academy before noon. I don't see it happen, but I witness the aftermath in the corridor when the person is escorted past us by two officials. The participant is a young man I recognize from the obstacle course. He'd struggled through it but finished. Now his eyes are fixed on the floor, his shoulders hunched inward like he's trying to disappear. His team stands frozen in place against the wall, watching him pass.No one steps forward. No one speaks. No one offers comfort or solidarity. The space around him empties too quickly, participants backing away like failure is contagious. Like getting too close might infect them with whatever inadequacy caused him to wash out.I stay where I am, not backing away but not approaching either. Just watching as he's led down the corridor toward the administrative building. Toward whatever process removes failed participants from the Academy. When he's out of sight, the corridor stays
Chapter 78
JOHN'S POVI wake with a tightness in my chest that does not fade, I try shaking it off as I run through the usual morning routine but even as I move through the dorm corridors toward the trial hall, the feeling still stays, like a rock that isn't ready to move. Something about today feels different. Heavier. The air itself seems to press down, or maybe it's just me in my head. Groups gather in low clusters along the pathway, watching each other more than they speak. Conversations stop when I pass. Eyes follow my movement. I keep walking, not acknowledging the attention that my presence is drawing. I hate it. The trial hall is larger than the conference rooms we've used before. High ceilings, stone walls, rows of chairs arranged theater-style facing a central examination area. Observers are already seated - officials, family representatives, other participants waiting their turns. When I step into the room, one of the evaluators signals for me to approach. She's a woman I don't rec
