MEETING HIS DAD
Lucian had wanted to say so much, but all he could muster after coming face-to-face with Michael was the three-letter word, 'Dad.' This is the first time he would be meeting his dad since he got lost nineteen years ago, and of all the numerous ways he dreamt of this day to be, this wasn't part of his dreams at all.

He had imagined a moment of happy reunion filled with smiles, kisses, and hugs. He imagined his dad laughing so loud and hard, and tears streaming down his cheeks due to how hard he had laughed.

But he is not sure this man in front of him right now can even chuckle, let alone laugh.

He looks so weary, so exhausted, and on the very brink of death. This isn't the enthusiastic man he saw on that video call two days ago. This man right here looks so miserable. Nothing like the other. And for the first time since he woke up, he is so happy he did because looking at Michael, he is not sure he would have lasted two days.
